I love Spotify and the way it helps me discover new music, and music related to my mood of the day. Brilliant stuff.
Once I discovered Spotify, my life changed for the better. They really transformed how I listen to music and how I discover new artists. All my favorite songs are on my playlists, and I keep discovering new great ones.
I used a free account, and now I'm using premium and it's worth every penny! All my favorite songs are on spotify! Plus, I discover great things every day!
There are many apps that allow users free access to music but it usually comes at the price of extensive advertisement interruptions or limited streaming capabilities. The Spotify app combines inexpensive buy-in with user-friendly layout to make it worth spending a few dollars a month on a music streaming app.
In terms of the free version of the Spotify app limits users in that they cannot stream music without Wi-Fi. Once the user decides to pay for the Premium version of the application, these restrictions no longer apply and the app becomes the perfect suite for music discovery and library curating. For this reason, I will be assessing Premium Spotify and not the free version of the app.
The cost for students is very affordable with a discount bringing the original price of $9.99 down to $4.99. Although for some this may seem pricey, access to unlimited music means one only needs to add 5 songs a month to reach the price per song threshold that surpasses the value per song in the iTunes store which charges $1.29 per song. Many will add more than this amount in new music a month and will find that it is much more affordable than other means of purchasing music and is available without Wi-Fi and without using ones data plan if saved to a specific playlist.
This is more efficient, affordable, and legal than the means available for music streaming in the past. Free applications such as Limewire or its predecessor Frostwire were based on a system of file sharing that was shaky in its legality and often led to viruses being downloaded onto ones computer. Many of the songs were incompatible file types for iTunes which made it difficult to access music on cell phones or media players. Spotify makes it easy to access your music library by allowing integration with iTunes libraries and having cross-platform apps that can be installed on a variety of devices.
Spotify has over 30 million songs in its catalog and adds around 20,000 songs each day. One still may not be able to find songs that may be readily available on applications like Soundcloud. In comparison to apps like Pandora Spotify also falls short because often times the music it chooses to match songs of your choice are either by the same artist, or are characteristically exactly the same as the selected song and offer no variety. Looking for new music often falls upon the user to search and sort through the vast catalog of music on their own.
All in all, Spotify remains my top choice for music streaming based purely on its low price and extensive catalog. Supplementing Spotify with free apps like Soundcloud and Pandora work well to complement Spotify in the areas where it falls a little short. Even with its shortcomings, the price, music catalog, user friendly layout, and compatibility with multiple devices make it the best choice for music streaming.
Spotify is a great website. I use the web player a lot and it performs almost as well as the standalone application for the computer. The interface is easy to use, navigate and organize. It has a lot of musicians that I want to listen to. The premium version is inexpensive. I haven't had a single issue with Spotify.
They get all the new release on this app, they even have old songs and many different genre's, so worth it for premium
I love Spotify. I listen to music all the time. I'd listen to music more if I could. Spotify is bae. I love Discover Weekly. I have made way too many playlists on it. Also like being able to see what my friends are listening to. It's just great.
I should have known that anything involving Sean Parker would just be the BOMB! If music is your passion, then Spotify should be your favorite
I used to use Pandora, but I was annoyed that I couldn't choose what song to listen to when I wanted. Then a friend told me about Spotify and I decided to get an account and I use it every day now. I didn't buy the "premium" membership because the ads and such don't really bother me and there aren't that many. However, my friend did get premium and she said that it's worth it. I don't think I'll pay for premium but I love Spotify so much because they have a TON of music to listen for free and I save money because I don't have to buy all the music. Or if you do buy music, you can listen on Spotify to see if you really want to buy it. Anyway, I think Spotify is pretty great. Obviously.
I like this better than pandora because I can listen to a whole album of an artist and yes there are still ads but its a little easier to work with and if I do give them by money the features are better than pandora. :) I recommend this! Lol
While it was much better when I was a paid subscriber (my job is no longer conducive to listening to music all day, so I went back to the free status) and I didn't have to hear the same commercials over and over again, I am still a huge fan of Spotify. And the weekly recommendation mixes are SPOT ON!
I don't understand why anyone would give Spotify less than 5 stars. You can pretty much find every song in one place, for free. Pretty awesome if you ask me
This is truly the bomb! My life has changed, and I'm listening to it as I type this. I feel guilty that I listen to songs for free and only hope they pay the artists. Spotify has a massive collection of music, and though their algorithm is not sophisticated as Pandora, they more than make up for it in their flexibility of the platform.
The developers should remove the premium option because hen the music users can't choose their own songs from getting played manually
Spotify at best is incredibly easy to use and you can build a playlist of under various sub headings, I like it very much indeed, and I am always eager to add to it to extend my range of musical knowledge.
This site is amazing. It allows you to listen to free music legally. Only small downside is that even though they have lots and lots of song, they dont have every song like Itunes. But would you want to spent $1 on every song you listen too, or just hear it for free.
I use the free version, it's AWESOME. I will never use Pandora again. Ads aren't too frequent and they don't play the same song a million times. I like being able to search by specific song or artist. I can even follow my friends playlists.
Answer: I would try to just use another acunt, but if that does not work then idk how to help
Answer: Do you think I could get you to advertise mine? It was recorded at Sony Records in Nashville, TN.
