Terrible service
November 4, 2020

The costume was for my daughter. I purchase 3 costumes Oct. 7 & only received 2 in the mail 7 days before halloween. I called customer service and let me say it was the most frustrating time trying to contact someone. They did not open till 12 noon then I had to wait 35 minutes for a rep to answer. When they finally got on the phone she basically said it's nothing they can do for my daughter. They can refund me my money in 7-10 business days. So I went to the Spirit Halloween store in Mooresville NC and I will say the managers there did try everything they could do for me. They found her costume in a store in Ashville (2 hours away) and called them to hold it to figure out something. So I called the customer support line again, was on hold for 45 minutes just for them to hang up on me. I called a third time & again was on hold 45 minutes. Isiah the rep I spoke with again & he was probably the worst customer service rep I have ever spoken to. Defiantly did not help the situation. I asked if they could have it shipped from the Ashville store overnight since it was overall their mistake. Said NO, so I asked what is the policy when something like this happens cause my daughter is out of a costume, my refund isn't going to be here in time to purchase another costume & it should overall be Spirit Halloweens responsibility to ship a replacement over night. He was so nonchalant and said it's policy, its nothing we can do. He gave me a refund and that was it. They do not care about their customers. They do not try and fixed their mistakes nor do they care. So to all my parents I would advise you not to shop online with Spirit Halloween. If you do make sure it's months in advance because they are impossible to reach & have poor customer service. As much money as i've spent there you would think they would do everything they could for you, especially when it was their employee that didn't put the costume in the bag to be shipped. Not a happy halloween for my baby.

Worst halloween store
November 1, 2020

Their products don't work. Their white "no-smudge" face paint was transparent, smudged, didn't dry. I also bought red 1-day hair spray color & it stained my bathroom walls and carpets, and won't come out of my hair. It also stained my skin. No pride in their products. They don't care what happens after you purchase their products. Also, it's way too overpriced for some crap worth $1 made in a chinese factory (probably uses child labor) lol what a joke

Bad customer service
November 1, 2020

I went to the store to byy a fog maker. The fog maker needed another attachment to work. I went back to the store and they did not have it. I spoke to Manager Amanda and she said all sales were final. I told her that I did not want the money, just exchange the item. She said that she would not honor it. I called customer service and was told the same. It's like purchasing a car without the engine, you don't find out until after you signed to papers and they tell you that all sales are final. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. To say the least, my daughters Halloween party was not a success. Come next Halloween, I'll shop somewhere that honors it customers. Just know that this was done to me on Halloween day. They had so many items left over and still they would not let me do an exchange. That's like having Halloween candy left over after Halloween and not giving it to a child, even though you know it's gonna go to waste. Next year, I will remind everyone of the costumer service the begining of October and every October after that. It's so sad.

I spent 2 hours in a line up to buy 4 of the electronic people. I was one of the first people to get in only to be told each box i wanted was already sold, Strange seems I was one of the first people inside, then on the way out a worker was adding up about 5 cart loads of costumes only a few moments after the store open. Just wow guest they let people in last night and sold everything they could. Being a disabled veteran it was hard enough to wait outside but to get in and then be told sold, sold Every year for the past 4 years i have spent over 3 grand each year in the after sales.
This will be my last time shopping here ever and I will make sure others know what the stores do.

Ridiculous Business

I wish I would have looked at the reviews before ordering. I paid $16 extra to get costume before Halloween and it is November 1st and it is still not here. Messed my son's Halloween completely up. DO NOT purchase through this company. To make it worse... the day of Halloween they closed their phone lines. Today, November 1st, phone lines to the business still closed down and to make it even worse they disabled their live chat yesterday and still today. Basically, they do not care about customers at all. All this business cares about is making as many sales prior to Halloween as they can and then shut off communications with customers so they do not have to be bothered with us! Ridiculous!

I ordered a costume for my son since we couldn't find it in stores near us. They charged me $20 for shipping just to have the costume come incomplete. All of the accessories came but the costume itself didn't, they didn't contact me to say anything about this problem until after the accessories were delivered just to say that the costume was out of stock... I literally payed an extra $20 just for accessories. When I contacted customer service they didn't do anything to help and said that in order to return the accessories that didn't make sense without the actual costume, I had to pay shipping again.

Yall nasty

My kids costume was clearly used and dirty as all hell. The velcro has hair stuck in it and it smells like a used up ole hooker that chain smokes pal mals.
Other than that it's a great place.

They ripped me off!

I bought a costume a few days ago, and it didn't fit. So I brought it back the next day, hoping to exchange it, but then they tell me that the day I bought it was the last day for returns! SERIOUSLY?! The manager was a $#*!ing $#*! too!

I went into a spirit Halloween in Colma California on Wednesday, October 28,2020. The store seemed not too busy early in the morning at 9:30 but the checkout stand was a little bit messy. I began to look for a specific outfit so I could use for my meeting.

Once I got to the counter I began working with a cashier that seemed a little out of sorts. The cashier almost seem like he didn't really know what he was doing or it was his first day but one thing I did notice is that they were a lot of things on the counter already that were not mine and was it was just messy. I put most of my things on the counter but left my jacket in my hand because there wasn't any room to put it. I'll begin to look at my phone to answer a work message.

The cashier then told me the total without noticing I had a huge jacket in my hand that I wanted to buy. This definitely speaks to his lack of awareness that I was holding a Halloween jacket with a tag on it. I didn't want him to get in trouble or to steal so I brought it to his attention and said oh I still have this. I also noticed that he never offered me a bag for the big amount of things I had and he was confused on how to even fold the jacket to put it in a bag.

I left that interaction thinking that he was just nervous or it was his first day. After I got home and open the bag I noticed that there was an extra article in the bag that I did not purchase or want so I looked at my receipt and saw that he charged me for it. I was very upset because I already asked him the return policy just in case I didn't want something and went ahead with the transaction because I decided everything that I had put on the table I wanted. It was very frustrating to know I had I have to go back and argue what he did.

When I went back to the store on Saturday, October 31,2020 I waited in line for about 40 minutes to get inside. I explained my issue to two managers who refuse to give me a refund in fear of losing their job. I don't remember the first managers name but the second manager was Giselle. I explain to her that spirit Halloween had deactivate all phone numbers that they had on their site and they also had no email to communicate with them. There was also a live chat feature that was also disabled.

This experience with this company was absolutely terrible. They put something in my bag and charge me for something I did not want and then refuse to give me a refund for their mistake. Although Giselle was nice it is very frustrating that they had the capability to make a refund but refused to acknowledge their employees mistake. And on top of that the company offers no avenue for escalation on issues.

I will try and call again and speak to managers if not I'll be taking legal action to ratify this unjust and seemingly illegal practice

Lied To

Was Told that the store was Open 10:00am - 6:00pm. Drove 20 minutes to the nearest store and the doors were locked so we called the store and their lines were offline. Then I tried to leave a review somewhere else and it wouldn't let me so I'm fuming rn.

Terrible place to shop
October 31, 2020

Terrible experience with staff not only are their fitting rooms closed which we all can understand due to covid but what if the costume you bought doesn't fit you?
Went to 3 different stores to just exchange it for a larger size but nope.

Shotty costumes

Our family spent almost $250.00 and the costumes are literally falling apart. They are cheaply made and of very poor quality. You would think spending that much money would get you something of quality but nope not in America. Cheap crap and I recommend you do not shop here.

Return policy

There is literally a hole in my costume and they wont let me return it. I bought the costume yesterday and decided to investigate it today and found a 3-inch hole in the leg of the costume. How are you going to sell damaged products and on top of that not offer me my money back or even an exchange. Never buy from this $#*!ty store

I went the store today to buy a costume for my 10 year old son, of course the fitting rooms are close, so I ask the cashier if the size for the one size fits most will fit him and he said yes, i went home and no, the costume is a infaltable costume i went back and the manager at the Moontwood location was so rude, she didnt want to help. My son is 10 the costume already inflate which they didnt inflate all the way fits mayne like a 6 year old so now my son stayed with a $65 dll costume in a bag and nothing to wear tomorrow. Its so sad because i wanted to at least exchange witch i was about to pay $79.99 for that but they said No.

A terrible shopping experience. On the October 29th, I went to buy costume for my child. My child didn't like it. So I decided to take my daughter to change it in half an hour. The manager of the store actually told me that I could not return it or exchange it. I asked the cashier why he hadn't given me any information. The manager's explanation was written on the receipt. This means that once the receipt is printed, it cannot be returned and exchanged, and the consumer is not aware of the situation. Oh, my Goddess, Never before. If the final sale of any store has the obligation to tell consumers not to return. I'd like to ask Spirit Store is this overlord clause? Is it hidden consumption?! I can't believe this is happening in Canada. It's terrible!

WASTE

I went to the store at 7:30 pm because I had to get a costume for my son and I just got off of work and I was tired. I spent 60 dollars on a costume and it was the wrong size so I went back the next day and MATHEW THE MANAGER tells me I cant return or exchange the costume.So I go and call the store and the lady says IT IS UP TO THE MANAGER TO DECIDE so that rude person wanted me to waste my money.DO NOT GO THERE IT IS A RIP OFF!

Rip Off

I honestly dont know how they put a $89.99 price tag on a Jumping Spider that if you also don't buy the converter plug-in and the step pad to activate it ( each sold separately) and think that's a fair deal or even worth the $90 for something that just really sits there and does nothing. 1st and LAST time shopping here.

Very Dissatisfied

The staff is wonderful. The costumes are made terribly. You cannot speak with someone in the store on the phone. The voice recording states hours but the phone lines are always closed. There is no chat line. They will not offer store credit and have no gift cards. I ordered a costume which was too big. Went to the store to exchange and inventory was so low. It was low when I went there on October 18. Bought another customer and it was too small. When back for money back or store credit. NOPE. No credit or money back. I will not recommend or visit the shop. If there was a teenager that needed a costume and I did not have the money I would have sold it to them at discount. At least five store credit. That is how you get customers back into the store.

SUCKS

Worst customer service experience. Live Chat is offline? What? A week before Halloween? No one answers the contact number. HORRIBLE! I will not, out of principle, will not ever shop there again.

Bad Customer Service
October 27, 2020

I had ordered a $50 costume and it had charged me 4 different times. I went into the store and was told to call the customer service number. I was on hold for 50 minutes listening to the same violin music over and over. I literally felt like Daryl Dixon in the Easy Street episode. Once I had been on the phone for 50 minutes, I was told to leave a voice-mail and someone would get back to me. They never got back to me. I'm yet again on hold for 20 minutes and no one has responded..
