I bought my 10 year old son a Fortnite Drift costume online a couple weeks ago and when we received it both gloves were left handed. I tried to contact them through live chat for days every time with it being "offline". Finally after about 5 attempts I was able to reach them and they told me the only way I could get the right handed glove was to drive to my nearest Spirit Halloween store which is in Murfreesboro, Tn. An hour away. I called the Murfreesboro store and the manager told me the couldn't ship anything out from the stores. So... after working all day I had to drive 2 hours total to get a glove that should have been in what I purchased. MY GAS AND MY TIME!
And they act like they don't even care and it's YOUR problem! I believe they have gotten too big for their britches!
My advice... go somewhere else.
It's creeping up on Halloween and my daughter's costume hasn't arrived! I ordered that and some accessories 2 weeks ago, the other items have arrived but the costume hasn't. They are one of those companies that make it impossible to speak to someone on the phone, then the live chat option is "offline" no matter what time of day I look. Then if I track my order it just says "in process" which is in reference to the entire order as opposed to the individual items, and also just totally vague. A terrible company if you need to problem solve!

I spend over $100 at the store on Friday, October 18th. I believe I should have been informed that all my items would no longer be eligible for return. The $20 tutu I got was the wrong color pink for the outfit and the store or the online store does not offer the correct color pink. I wanted to return it today, Tuesday October 22nd and found out that I could only have a store credit. I asked it the credit would be good until next year and I was told "NO" Well I have everything I need and you do not offer what I needed to exchange. The tutu was not even tried on, it is still on the original hanger and has the tag still on it. How horrible is that when you can't get what you need. BUYER BEWARE!. I understand others have tried to return ripped costumes because they did not check the bag before purchase, but they are now stuck with a costume they can not wear and I am stuck with a tutu that I don't need. AGAIN, BEWARE!
I purchased an adult Halloween costume on Monday, Oct 14 from the SpiritHalloween store on North 72nd St in Omaha, NE. The cashier reminded me that refunds will be accepted thru Oct. 18 and exchange thru Oct 31. I returned a women's dress costume on Friday afternoon at 3pm, Oct. 15, requesting a refund to my credit card. The cashier advised that refunds were only good thru Oct 17. I showed her my receipt which clearly states that refunds would be accepted thru Oct 18 and pointed out to her that a sign behind their cash register notes that refunds are accepted thru Oct 18. She said that this policy ended at midnight on Oct. 17. I disputed this and demanded a refund. The cashier said that she would accept my refund and honor it only this one time and that she would have to play dumb to do this. I reminded her of the Oct 18 refund policy on my receipt, as well as reminded her of the sign in their stores on refunds thru Oct 18. This didn't seem to phase her. I will never purchase items again at this season store and hope that other Omaha residents follow my lead. Very disappointed in their customer service policies, and lack of education they teach their employees.
I arrived at approximately 11:30am in October 21st, 2019 at the store located at 1735 w Flordia at in hemet ca.
The store was nasty and the lady who was sweeping up the filth was USO's discussingly nasty dusty mop.
Looking at all of the trash and dust on the store floor it appeared that it wasn't cleaned for a month!

I went to look at costumes and to purchase a scarecrow costume. I wanted to see if Party City had a different scarecrow costume I may like better. I was told by Spirit Halloween employees that Party City did not have anything different because they order the costumes for them. I did talk to someone on the phone at Party City that took the time to find the scarecrow costume no matter hon bust they were and they were less expensive. Bottom line Spirit Halloween will tell you what they need to, to make the sell. DO NOT BELEIVE THEM. I recommend you try Party City first when purchasing a costume this Halloween season.
I made my purchase at the Solon, Ohio on Saturday the 19th on my way to work. When I tried it on later that evening I discovered that one size does not fit all, it wouldn't even go past my shoulders.
I was going to return it for a refund and then discovered that they only accept refunds through the 18th. I tried the online chat and it was off. I called their customer service number and was informed there was a 30 minute wait time.
Based on my experience I guess I'm out 20 dollars. Avoid this place.
I would strongly recommend not buying from this store. They are overpriced and have an unreasonable return policy. They will not accept returns after 10/18, but are more than willing to sell outdated items and returns from previous years. I would recommend Amazon for all of your Halloween needs.
I bought a costume at full price and then received a coupon in the mail for 20% off one full-price item. I took the costume back to the store and asked to return it and then repurchase it with my coupon. I returned the costume within the allowable returns timeframe. But when I tried to repurchase the costume, the store manager told me it is against company policy to allow a buyer that returned a costume to use a coupon to repurchase that same costume. So I asked the lady in line behind me if she would use my credit card to purchase the costume I wanted. The store manager allowed the woman to use my credit card- the same card I used to pay for the original purchase- and I was able to walk out with the costume. This policy makes no sense to me! The manager told me she doesn't allow people to do returns and then use a coupon because they lose money... well now you've lost my business for life so you might want to rethink your policies. If Halloween night wasn't so close and my son wasn't so eager to wear the costume I bought from this store, I would've returned it and walked out. Next year I'll be shopping for costumes anywhere but Spirit.

If u can get a hold of customer service u will likely get hung up on. Second call also got hung up on!
My order was to be express shipped and well I paid the extra money and basically to bad when it gets to me it gets to me

I picked out my daughter a costume who is 11 she's a little small for her age so she wears a medium 8/10 I finally find a sales person to let us back ( she seemed annoyed) so my daughter can try on her costume she takes out the dress and leaves the leggings in the bag i said can she try the leggings on? She said no we're not allowed too I said really we've always been allowed to try on the whole costume? Very rudely she said well someone wasn't doing their job then. I'm like well that's kind of dumb since she told me their policy is no returns! What if I buy it and doesn't fit I can't return it so I'm suck with a $40 costume? I asked her can she try on the leggings outside of the dressing room over her leggings she had on again very rude she said no! So I said to my daughter let's go I'm not buying it if you can't try all of it on again with a smart remark its not my policy its company policy! Long story short I was not happy we left went right to party city where they let the kids try on the full costume we bought it with great customer service so party city it is every year for Halloween never again will I step foot in a spirit store!
Horrible customer service. If I can give this store a zero star rating I would. I ordered three items offline and was guaranteed a delivery date. When I looked a few days later the delivery date was 6 days later than what they said it would be. When I called customer service, I was hung up on after a 25 minute hold. Live Chat doesn't work. When I was able to call them and reach someone they told me that I needed to have FedEx cancel and send back the order. When I called FedEx to have the ordered cancelled and sent back to Spirt, they told me they can't do that as its a "smart order". A smart order is an order that is sent from SpiritHalloween to FedEx. FedEx then will hold onto the order for about 4 days (till they get all of their smart orders in for the week), then send it to the US postal office. Once it is their it can take up to 10 days for them to send the order out to you.
If the orders are not returned and post marked by 10/18/2019 you will not get a refund. How are you supposed to get a refund when you are not able to reach anyone?

Horrible customer service! Missing arms, they said they shipped it. No response back, no tracking number, no follow up. I just spent $150, I would expect better service! Wish I could have gone somewhere else.

If I could, I would give them a 0. They take your order and never let you know that your item is not on stock. I paid for overnight shipping, waited for four days, when I called them they simply said: "That item is out of stock so we could not mail it to you." However, they never sent me a message about it. They are completely incompetent and their business practices totally irresponsible. Do not order anything online from them!
Bought a purple fire and ice spotlight on-line. Plugged it in when I put up my outside decos and it lasted less than one hour. Several days ago "customer service" said they would send another and I would have notice of that later that day or the next day. Obviously NO notice and NO replacement. Was not given the option to return for refund and they told me to "throw away" the bad one. Also known as the evidence! WHY IS THIS COMPANY ALLOWED TO STAY IN BUSINESS?

I ordered a dorothy costume online as well as some silver face makeup for my childs tin man costume this year. Would you know my surprise when he opens the package I think is going to contain makeup and he pulls out a bunny rabbit vibrator/dildo. He then proceeds to ask me why his makeup bottle is in the shape of a $#*! and why are there two of them. This was mortifying as I had a family friend over at the time and they were alarmed as well. I had to pull up my order confirmation just to make sure I didn't make a mistake somewhere on the site but I didn't there was my silver makeup in the confirmation and a pink dildo in my living room. Safe to say I will not be ordering from spirit again! I don't want to risk getting another dildo. Oh and the package was addressed to me so it wasn't a screw up of me not noticing another name.

I was exchanging a costume because mask was messed up. I had a coupon when I originally bought it. They were going to make me pay the difference in coupon price. Cashier got mad because manager told her to not charge me. She threw receipt on the costume. She refused to put it in a bag. I will never shop here again. First time there and my last!

I ordered a costume from there website at the end of August 2019. It said that it would ship in the middle of September. It is now the first week in October and I have not received it. When I go into my order history, it says that there is nothing. I even got a confirmation email stating that it was ordered. I am never ordering from there website again. I guess I will just have to stick with the store.
SUCH A PAIN THAT YOU HAVE TO CALL THE MAIN NUMBER TO ACCESS PRODUCT INFORMATION AT INDIVIDUAL STORES. THEN THEY 3 WAY YOU ON THE CALL AND STILL MANAGE TO NOT ONLY CALL THE WRONG STORE, BUT PLACE THE WRONG SIZE ON HOLD. RIDICULOUS.

My visit to spirit at Legacy Crossing in Marion Ohio what is a five star shopping experience because of one person Justine not only assisted me finding all of the hocus-pocus costumes and accessories that I needed but she went above and beyond to get me the "teeth" to complete my Winnie Sanderson costume that were sold out nearly everywhere. Justine is personable, knowledgeable, and very helpful. In a word, she's the best!

During Peak Season phone lines can be a little busy and we can be experiencing long hold times. However, we do have representatives that are on Live Chat and emails.
