On 8/26/2017 I attempted to purchase a paper-view program. I was never able to view the paper-view program and did not even know if the purchase was final because I kept being kicked out of the server due to high traffic. I contacted customer service and spoke with Cynthia, who was very rude and was no assistance to me at all on 8/27/17. Cynthia advised that the fight was non refundable. I then asked to speak with a supervisor and was connected to Tasheena. Tasheena told me that she would contact billing and I would be contacted by them for the only chance at receiving a refund. I am very angry because I expect to receive a product that I purchase and not have to jump through hoops to get it. Tasheena also told me to contact my bank and have them stop the payment. Also I advised Tasheena that if i did not receive compensation in any form I would cancel my services contact BBB and place negative publicity, and instead of offering as much support to help me she sent me a link to cancel witch I followed through with.
Milan I read your review. The same thing just happened to me! They said they could not refund! BS that does not seem legal. I already called my bank to have the charge reversed. We will see what happens.
I started sling for the trail and for some reason my account compromised and someone purchased a rental Mayweather v McGregor which begins at Saturday, Aug 26,9:00 PM EDT. It is 08/25/2017 and 2:14 PM when I am writing this review. I called immediately and asked the customer service to refund me back the amount of purchase which was 99.99$ and they denied and said we can not refund. Is this a joke? How can you not refund for something which is not yet started and you did not watch. Worst customer service ever. I changed my password but I will never go to sling again.
I used a gift card and ordered orange. After 1 day I wanted to change to the blue, higher priced plan, and add 2 $5 ala carte. Was asked to add money, added another gift card. They extended my orange plan said in order to make it change I had to add more. What was there was enough. They will only add length, not change without debit/credit card. Be aware!
TV is decent but their policies are awful. They will draft your account monthly without any notifications. I'm fairly certain I canceled my account then realized months later had been being charged. Called and while I told them I cancelled and they could see i had not used the service they would still not refund my money. They said i would have to provide the six month old email they sent confirming my cancelation. I don't keep emails from six months ago and I doubt many others do. Shady business practices. Anywhere legit would send an email every time your account was drafted.
Poor channel choices! Not everybody who watches TV I like to watch news enjoy CNN. There is no other type of news but fake news you can't watch any other type of new stations just CNN fake news so this is why I dropped my subscription to sling TV. Also very slow going to channel to channel and dropping stations as you watch TV. I would not recommend sling TV.
My bad but they charged me for 8 full months after I cancelled. I should have looked closer at my bank transactions. They can tell the last time I used their service so it's evident I thought it was cancelled. Good luck getting a refund. Your concerns go into some magic customer service box with no follow up or concern. Terrible business model. Remember without the client you wouldn't exist.
I tried sling tv, tried it for one day and cancelled it... they refused to give a refund even though they advertise that you can cancel at anytime and the service is prorated... don't believe them. Service is not what we expected... sounds much better than it is... buyer BEWARE! Also spent 30 minutes on phone trying to talk to someone about this... same couple of sentences repeated over and over... SLING IS NOT WHAT THEY ARE ADVERTISING IT AS.
I did the 7 day FREE trial to try this out and on the 7thy day I cancelled it. However they STILL charged my card and then refused to give me a refund! Apparently it's in the agreement that they do not give refunds but the customer service rep put me on hold to ask her supervisor about a refund... so they can give them, they just refuse to do so. This company is a joke and a crook! Don't trust them!
I hate this service after months you pay a premium and still have to watch long commercial and ads on every channel. The quality of the ads is perfect and the quality of the shows is diminished the video and audio goes to crap after the ads finish.
Sling TV sucks.
The service is cheap but I cannot believe they make people pay for it. It doesn't work! I had so much trouble watching TV with this service because it wouldn't load shows.
The DVR is a joke! It only records shows sometimes, and the functionality is very finicky in terms of being able to pause or rewind. Sometimes I could; sometimes I couldn't (so, sometimes I'd have just 5 minutes left of a show and if I paused it, it would restart at the very beginning and not allow me to fast forward. That's WITH the DVR option!).
The user interface leaves a lot to be desired. Navigating the UI was a miserable experience because it is so clunky and not at all intuitive, and then there was the issue of basic commands not working. For example, if I searched for a show title, it wouldn't let me hit the "search" button to actually execute the search, or it would allow me to enter two or three letters and then only allow me to navigate to a different menu.
Good luck to anyone trying to use the DVR option. The whole UI for the DVR is so user-unfriendly. It's so hard to actually manage your recordings, add shows, delete shows, etc. None of it makes any sense.
In all seriousness, when I tried to watch TV with this service, it would take me about 20-30 minutes of technical issues before I could even begin watching a show. By the time I would get it working, I didn't have time to watch the show.

1. For all of those that say they were incorrectly charged or wrongfully charged... Contact your credit card holder/bank who will be backed by Visa, MasterCard, etc. and have them submit a chargeback on the card for being wrongfully charged. Explain your situation to the bank and make sure they conduct a chargeback... if you really want to teach the company a lesson, do this as they will get bad review from their "merchant" who processes their charges and the merchant may charge them more for the service they provide OR may drop them altogether and they will have a difficult time processing payments if they cannot take payment online via credit card/debit card. When you are on the phone with Sling customer service... tell them to refund your money or you will call your bank to begin the chargeback process and this will hurt their relationship with their merchant. Do not listen to them if they bluf and say you will not be able to complete a chargeback... you are they buyer and you will.
2. I am okay with it so far... took some getting used to though. I do not like when shows disappear while I am in the middle of binge watching them. No warning... I sit down the next night to finish out a season and all of the sudden it is not available anymore. That made me very upset. Also, the shows you can watch and the current season only (normally) with no way to go back and watch the old seasons because they are not available. Sometimes when their IS a current season... only 3 to 5 random episodes will be available so you cant always start at the beginning. Really takes the fun out of binge watching. They may want to renegotiate with some of their contracts to prevent this and take a lesson from Netflix... I understand that you cannot have it all but they also charge $39 for my package with Netflix charging $12. It takes a bit of getting used to so if you go for the trial package... set time aside to explore it to see if it is for you.
Had sling TV but canceled after 7 day trail cause it freezes so much can't watch TV shows and if I'm not watching live tv it plays the same commercial every so many mins an louder each time I'm most only complaining cause it freezes so much and I know it's now our WiFi cause I can't watch Netflix and it not freeze at all so I'll never again get sling and I've passed the word along to people and family I know not to ever get sling TV
I signed up for the 7 day trial. I got billed a full month the very next day. This should have been a red flag but we were excited to try it and not have a $125 dish bill. Cut to 7/30/17. I was surprised to see my Credit card had been charged for a month so soon. I was told it would bill the same day if the month I started the service (so the 8th). Well like a lot of people I live pay check to pay check most months. I need to know when bills will hit so I can account for that cash. I called Sling and they stated it was prepay. Well exactly! And I'm calling two day before August starts to cancel and ask for a refund! Nope the robot behind the phone kept stating it was prepay and I will have service till August 31st. Well I called my bank and got it reversed thank god! They don't care about customers or retaining them the good old fashioned way. Horrible experience. I found the commercials most irritating as they literally play the same 3 every ten minutes if your not watching live tv. The commercials are so loud that they rattled my tv, but my shows were so low volume u had to turn the tv all the way up. Never again. Sling is the worst.
They wouldn't return my money even though the account was canceled and then the dont have a dispute dept i asked to speak with the billing dept they told me. I could not that my bank could only speak with that dept. I asked for the relations dept they they didn't have one. They are full of $#*! don't even bother with them. I've never heard of a company not refunding money if you cancel and don't want the service.
I cancelled my 7-day free trial on the 7th day but they say it needed to be done by 4:08 pm (who comes up with this?) and I called at 7:00 pm. So they charged me 34.99 for 3 hours of service! They refused to reverse it even at the supervisory level. BAD policy and BAD customer service. DO NOT SIGN UP for this service.
I signed up for 2 month prepaid and I received a free Roku to receive sling TV. I asked the sales person if I could watch more than one TV at the time. And I was told I could watch 3. They have already taken my money, they got their sale, then I received 1 Roku remote. I called them and asked how am I to watch 3 TVs with one remote? They told me you are not, you can stream 3 devices not TVs. I requested an immediate cancellation and an address to send the Remote back to and a refund. The initial person was confused so I asked for a supervisor, he promised me a refund and a cancellation. Then I received an email stating that they do not do refunds. I then call them back and of course it is a different person who is even more confused I again ask for a supervisor. The woman was rude, disrespectful and a liar. So I have now been lied to by 5 employees from this company watch out. I watched 4 minutes of sleeping my tv to find out if I could watch on other TVs. Do not sign up it is a scam. Terrible business policy - NOT ACCEPTABLE and is a SCAM. Totally unnecessary stress added to my day, and rest assured after this experience I will never consider getting services and will relay to friends, family, and reviews online that this type of policy is NOT OK.
I was an hour late cancelling the "free trial" and they charged me $99. Saying that had I not used the free trial they would have been able to refund me... what BS
stay away from this, waste of money and time. the day i subscribed called them for cancellation for such a poor service and they still charge me every month, when i tried to reach them about cancellation they cannot refund it as per their rules. just sucks

Answer: The ROKU rocks! Just avoid SLING TV at all costs. When they rip people off the FCC will not make them give you the money they owe you. The FCC just says We received your complaint and you should be hearing from SLING. What a joke! I am out $50.00, because SLING told me they were only taking major credit cards or the SLING cards. I purchased 2 $25.00 SLING cards to pay my $40.00 bill. The cards only come in $25.00 amounts. It would not take them. I called and called and got different CS agents. The cards would not go through. I got all kinds of reasons the cards were not working. I finally dropped SLING and went back to Spectrum. Something I vowed to never do. The day I called SLING to tell them I no longer wanted their service, and to tell them why I was unhappy the CS agent told me that the cards only work on the bill due date. Blah blah blah. I dontt know what happened with SLING. The service was great for a long time. Then they went to those stupid cards that would not work.
