Made purchase at Bed, Bath and Beyond with credit card 5 weeks ago, several days ago I noticed I was being charged a monthly fee, I did not sign up for ShopSmarter (nor would I, you need to purchase $100.00/per month to break even). I will also notify Bed, Bath and Beyond to advise I will no longer purchase from them on-line,
Advertisement showcases nice rebate with a small trial fee so I joined thinking I would still net a decent amount for minimal effort. However they don't make it evident (likely hidden in the T&C) that the payout is scheduled several weeks out so there's no way you'd get the rebate without paying for a full subscription. Very misleading. Don't waste the time. Sad to think about how much money they've made off trials with no payout.

The company makes their money by scamming people. The small amount they charge goes unnoticeable to many. If you use this and knowingly use it then great. For me and so many others they have scammed us.

Never knowingly signed up for any ShopSmarter.com services, was charged $1.97 on 10/24, and shortly after that they tried to charge $9.97 but Capital One flagged it as suspicious, so I had a new card issued, and that one already has a pending charge for $9.97 BEFORE IT WAS EVEN ACTIVATED. This isnt right.

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. If you do any online shopping at all this will pay for itself in no time. Yes you get charged $9.97 a month but you also get 10% back from every retailer you buy from if you go through their site. Up to $1000. 00 a year. I love it! I started buying a lot of things online and I get an extra $200.00 a month! I will definitely be signing up again next year!

This is a scam. They have attached themselves to Bed Bath & Beyond and possibly other online order companies with a pop-up. I gave them my credit card number but not my secure code. They immediately charged my credit card. They NEVER said there would be a charge for their services. I have cancelled but my credit card company says that I may have to get a new number because although I cancelled my ShopSmarter account, they may keep trying to charge me.

When we cancelled we never heard about the $ 10 refund again and can't get anything from the operators on the phone.!
Its a gimmick to fleece (legally, of course) the public of such a small amount that nobody will bother to go after.!

Everything is working very good after 2 couple of years of membership.
Sometimes 10%, sometimes 20% when they have an offer.
In 2 years only once i have an issue with a Best Buy purchase that even sending them an email with the information they never give me that cashback. But other than that I would recommend specially for heavy users.

I went ahead a filled out the form and paid $1.97 membership fee for 7 days and within a few weeks i received a check in the mail for $10.00. Be sure to cancel the membership before 7 days expire or you will be charged $12.97 for 1 month membership.

My first month, I paid 9.99 and got 40 something back. The second month, I had a big purchase due to my quaterly 20% coupom from Ulta. I work for a big company call center, so I bought for several girls, so we all could take advantage of the coupon. They again paid me 40 something leaving this big purchase behind without mentioning anything. When I complained I did not get paid for the purchase, they requested a receipt and after I sent, they locked my account accusing me of being a business and refused to pay me for that purchase and all the other ones I made for the quarter. I'm now in touch with another member that got scammed for a lawsuit. I am sure they pocket our money. Be aware!

They wanted all but 1 digit of my credit card to locate my account!
Said they could not locate me in system- but they had no trouble locating me at billing time. Called last 2 billing cycles to cancel but kept billing. I had to request a new Credit Card to stop the charges.
I did not apply for this- I was told it automatically enrolled me when I ordered from Walmart or others online-- then after 30 day free trial it becomes a draft unless you cancel service. Very upset electronic thieves.

I don't know how a website can charge for a trial period. On top of that, they don't show about membership charges during any time of enrollment.
