I've bought three things from MLB Shop, three. I must either have bad luck or they are an awful service. ALL three times, after I bought the item, it went on backorder. I'm not kidding. I mean it's 2015, how do you not have a system that shows current availability?
The best was my third and final time buying from them. They were running a buy 1 get one free sale. Ok great, I'll give them one more shot. So I buy two items. The next morning, I get an e-mail saying the item shipped, and a separate e-mail saying one item was unavailable, therefore they cancelled the item. You'd think maybe they would offer me another item to substitute into the order, or a 50% discount (since I'm getting half the order), but no. So essentially I bought something because it was buy 1 get 1 free, however now I'm all of a sudden paying full price for just one item.
I gave them a call to complain, the only thing they could offer me was 10% percent discount off my current order. Huh? I asked if I could sub in another item, they said I had to return my order and do a completely new one.
In conclusion their service is about as bad as I've experienced. Especially bad since MLB is a MASSIVE company, you'd think they'd have their $#*! together. Nope.
I bought a Mets WS hat for my son.and after I got it it didn't fit him so I shipped it back that was back on November 3 they got it 2 days later iknow because ups deliver it. Today is Dec 22 and I still don't have my refund. I call customer service and was on hold for 30 mins got pissed off and hung up this is the worst place to buy stuff

I ordered 4 in-stock Jerseys as Christmas Presents on 12/8/2015. VERY SLOW... 6 days later on 12/14 they email me saying 1 out-of-stock and cancelled and the 3 others have shipped. 2... 3... 4 days later… no UPS tracking activity. I called them twice for information and finally on 12/18 they tell me ORDER CANCELLED - ENTIRE ORDER OUT OF STOCK. No Back Order. No Christmas gift Jerseys for my family. Their service STINKS, and I will never buy anything from them ever again. Now I have to go do my Christmas shopping all over again. MLB.COM REALLY TERRIBLE! **STAY AWAY**
I ordered a shirt that is in stock but they cannot process order until the 27th of December? Spoke to manager she said she would fix it snd she lied and said oh i guess you want me to cancel it... NO B^#! $, I WANT YOU TO DO AS YOU PROMISED...
Was given a gift from a friend and they would not work with me to figure out a way to avoid the gift giver grief with extra charges and having to re-order. I just needed a different size. I will never buy from them and will advise the same for my friends. Buy from a different site! Step your $#*! up MLB. Your site looks like it was made 20 years ago.
I now see why there are so many 1 stars... Horrible return policy. I received a sweatshirt for my birthday that was too big. I called and wanted to return but instead get a different item -shirt. I simply did not like the design on the sweatshirt. The Supervisor told me my only two options were return for a smaller size or get a full refund (this was a gift). Ridiculous policy to not be able to exchange for something else. I hope they get bombarded with complaints this Holiday Season. I personally will never purchase anything from MLB.com again.

Ordered a Mets Pennant Hat 30 seconds after they won, place it on overnight shipping. Not only did I not receive it, never received a notice on status. Had to call to find it was back order to possibly up to a month. I immediately asked for a refund on shipping(what was the point...).
Received hat 2 weeks later (overnight shipping!). This is now after I had a friend go down to $#*!'S buy it for me and ship it out of state and received prior too. HERE'S WHEN IT GETS FUN! I send the hat back immediately I now have to wait up to 14 days for them to tell me they received it and another 14 days to get my money refunded.
This is nothing but a means to create capital without any inventory while acquiring interest on the money you loaned them. Stay away!
Called the MLB.com shop support line multiple times (*******467) to cancel an order after I received an email saying it was delayed indefinitely. The voice menu disconnected me multiple times. It happened at different points in the menu. Took me forever to get thru for that reason. Infuriating. And they don't have chat support! Given their inflated prices that is absurd. Horrible customer service.
I purchased a "Houston Astros 2015 Cool Base Carlos Correa Jersey" on July 2,2015. After I purchased it, I was told it was back ordered. On July 23, tired of waiting, I call to cancel but have to go through the recordings first which tell me the estimated ship date is in August. When I finally reach someone, the CS lady said she could request a cancellation but if it already shipped it couldn't be cancelled. Not a problem since I just heard the ship date was over a week away. But then I get an email that very evening letting me know it shipped. Upon arrival, my husband starts noticing some things don't look quite right. I email customer service and they inform me, I bought a replica! A replica! No where did it state that the product is a replica. Not in the title, nor in the description which I copied and pasted to them. I would urge anyone to not buy from mlb.com because you may not be getting what you think you are and you will over pay for it. Other sites that I saw the jersey on, which actually stated they were replicas, as of right now, are $86.89 and I paid $109.00. UGH!
I haven't had a bad experience with MLB shop... I ordered 2 nationals jerseys (Zimmerman and harper). They arrived within a week. I ordered a jersey for my son with no problem. And the hat and shirts after we won the division in 2014.
Waited extra because I ordered the items right after the game so I knew it would take a min... but overall I'm satisfied with MLB shop.
Would use them again
Received this youth sweatshirt today with a white crusty residue on both sleeves. Disgusting. I called customer service, no other sweatshirts available. A 10% discounted ($3.00) was given for receiving a disgusting dirty shirt which I hate to imagine what this crusty residue was. Not pleased AT ALL!
I ordered a jersey almost 2 months ago. And still haven't received it. When i contacted customer service, no response. After 2 days i actually got an email from them asking them to rate my experience with customer service! What a joke! My experience was NON EXISTENT, customer service still hast replied to my email submission (its been 3 weeks).
Completely AWFUL site. Puts shame to the MLB.

I ordered a shirt from here on the 15th and it didn't take my apartment number. After the order was submitted I called and asked them to change it or cancel it and they added it to the order. I was so happy! But after that it took longer than I expected for my package to arrive (I just got it today. 9 days to arrive). My shirt was in a box and not a bag, it was folded neatly and I really like it. Looks better than the picture and fits perfectly.
There are so many other outlets that sell the same merchandise so don't make the mistake I made and buy anything from shop.mlb.com.
They misrepresent the items, their availability, and have atrocious customer service.
I would rate shop.mlb.com zero stars if I could. Don't make the mistake I and others made. I am still trying to get a credit for an item they shipped even though I cancelled my order due to lack of shipping it within a month of ordering it.
I even called the commissioners office in NYC to get to the bottom of this operation.
Shame on Major League Baseball for allowing this to fester.
I bought some Christmas gifts from the MLB shop on Dec 19. I ordered from the website, in large part, because they had a "Christmas Guarantee". I did not receive the gifts until the evening of December 31. I filed a report with them on December 26 to cash in on their "Christmas Guarantee" and I received an email on January 1 letting me know that their guarantees don't actually mean anything. They have a long list of exceptions to their guarantees, and it pretty much covers any reason why it wouldn't arrive on Christmas.
Shame on you MLB Shop.
I ordered a jacket for my husband for Christmas on December 18, under the impression that it was guaranteed to be delivered in time of the holidays. Not only did I not get the jacket that I ordered, but today, I got a fitted hat for a random College FOOTBALL team. I am now on hold with Customer Service, where I have been languishing for the past half-hour, and have been told that I will be here for at least 40 minutes! They should have told me that my item would be delivered by Orthodox Christmas on January 7th... I will never order from them again!
I submitted an order at 7 a.m. Dec. 10 for standard shipping (paid). It took them until Dec. 19 to ship an in-stock item. Now I'm not supposed to get package until Dec. 27. It was supposed to be a Christmas present. Meanwhile, they are advertising guaranteed standard shipping delivery by Christmas for orders made by Dec. 21 at 11 p.m. This is ridiculous. Also, cannot reach a human at their customer service number and they are not responding to emails.
I get all my MLB merchandise here. Hats, starter jackets, jersey's etc. The MLB site is actually surprisingly good and I usually go to it first before checking all the other usual sources for baseball gear.
Answer: I would send it back if I were you and demand a refund. Full refund (shipping costs that you paid them too)
