This company is utterly criminal. They give you a quote, you send them your laptop and then they don't pay you. I battled and threatened this company with legal action and managed to squeeze £140 out of them (still owe me £40 judging by original quote). When they eventually paid, there was no apology, explanation for delay and sub payment. Do not use under any circumstances! I have never experienced such appalling activity. I honestly do not know how this company is still running. I would advise anyone who has been fleeced by this company to contact UK fraud office, trading standards, BBC watchdog etc, the more that do, the more seriously they will take the complaints and we can stop poor excuses for companies like this one taking advantage of good, hardworking people. If you want to take it straight to the MD of the company, Mr Craig Mansley will probably be glad to hear from you and all your comments :) Here is his LinkedIn http://uk.linkedin.com/in/craigmansley

**Please read: i managed to get my payment**
I sent them my laptop, like everyone else i did a bit of research (clearly not enough) and believed the site to be legitimate. Although i received conformation claiming i would be paid shortly, 15 days passed. I had sent 2 messages on their site but received no correspondence.

After finding this webpage and realising i've probably been mugged off, i sent an angry message but wrote it as if i was a bloke that knew his stuff.

I said i had found a forum with lots of people that have yet to receive money. I stated that i lodged a claim with trading standards and had legal connections and that i would not stand for this malpractice and will sue on a matter of principle, making sure that these people never run a business again! And within 24hrs they paid money into my account!
I believe my legal threat to be directly linked with this, because if this company was legitimate they would have apologised, however the email simply stated that payment had been made. I write this in hope that this aids other people in getting their payment, and prevents people from using this joke of a company again.

Order was placed on 13th February, received, checked and revised on 5th March. Accepted by you on 6th March and paid out on 19th March. We will be the first to admit this is over our 7 working day SLA but in this particular occasion the insurance company we use to check the validity of machines wanted a bit longer in their checking process. This took an additional 3 days longer than our preferred time scales. Everything eventually checked out and payment was made and we apologise for the time taken.

At the time of your order our staff level were extremely low and our admin side took most of the impact of that shortage and we are sorry we didn't keep you better informed. We are now fully staffed and are working on an upgrade to the site that should allow a lot more information to be shared directly to the customer and more tools for the back end admin to help them answer questions quicker.

Please, please, do not use this company. Like all the other reviewers, I sent a laptop, only never to hear from them. I've e-mailed 3 times, they never reply. I've phoned, but was just a message to say office is closed. They are disgusting people. I will contact Trading Standards also, but realise I will never see the £100 that was quoted for my laptop.

I sent my Sony Vaio laptop to the company behind that website 4 months ago and I am still waiting for the payment! What a waste. Since then, they have ignored all my messages. My advice: stay away from sellyourlaptops.co.uk!

Wanted to sell my laptop and was offered £180 for it from sellyourlaptops. Decided to read some reviews and it looked very promising, anyway after scrolling through about 500 reviews on this website "Trustpilot" all with good things to say about sellyourlaptops I decided to use them. Received a box to an address in Stockport and sent laptop right away. From that point I received a couple of processing e. Mails and nothing ever since. Found a contact number, sometimes its engaged and other times no one ever answers. Found out that the address is actually registered to a different company (Specticles). Realising that I had been scammed I opened a case with the national fraud investigation squad. Also found out that this "Trustpilot" has been know to wite hundreds and thousands of fake reviews so I was scammed twice.

Made the mistake of sending a perfectly fine laptop to them in response to a good offer they made for it on their site. Within a few days i received an email from them saying that the offer had been reduced to £20 as the COA could not be read. I was offered the chance to take the £20 or donate my laptop to charity. I emailed them and said I wanted my laptop returned. Heard nothing so emailed again and immediately got a phone call asking for payment to return it. Stupidly I paid and that was the last I heard of them or my laptop. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use this website which needs to be taken down before they can con others

I have had exactly the same experience as the below customers. I spoke to Stewart after eventually getting a cheque which bounced and asked for a bank transfer instead which never happened. The number is now not answering my calls. I have contacted the BBC Watchdog team as it is clear that this site is a scam. If Watchdog cant help then I will be speaking to trading standards, however I would suggest that other people do as well as that means there is more evidence against them.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE. They took my £350 laptop and never paid me, let alone reply to my continuous emails.

I WANT TO WARN EVERYONE NOT TO TRUST THIS COMPANY.
I had a laptop in excellent condition valued at £57. After completing a little research, I sent it in and received the cheque. The cheque was then rejected by the bank. I contacted sellyourlaptops via email to be promised another cheque had been sent. It never arrived. Subsequently I have emailed the company many times with no reply except an automated response.
If you want proof yourself, call their internet listed number. One number does not even connect and the other is answered by Stewart who will inform you that he will contact the accounts dept but nothing happens. I asked for a direct number for the accounts and he said they didn't have one!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
P.S. If anyone out there knows what course of action I should take now, please reply on this forum

STAY THE FUK AWAY FROM THESE GUYS! My first quote was £150 then after a review of my laptop it went down to £139, then they sent me an email saying payment had been made and that i had given 10% of my money to charity lol?
Still waiting for this cheque to come flying into my life... but the only cheque i see from sellyourlaptops is in my dreams.
Going to travel to stockport to get my money, cant see anything else to do.

The same as everyone else below, seems to be a complete scam. Sent the laptop over a month ago, they then asked me for my password? Which i thought was dodgy, if they were recycling it or whatever, they wouldnt need the password. So i tell them i didnt remember the password and asked for an update on the status. I. e when they would send the cheque. Have now sent more than 10 emails all of which have been ignored, STAY AWAY. Dont know what to do now or how to report the website so that other inncocent people arent ripped off in the same way!

Same experience as others in that they said the laptop I sent didn't meet the specification I gave them even though it did and that it was worth nothing. The address I sent it to is in Hazel Grove, Stockport, so I mailed them to say I would pick it up but they replied that due to the 'sensitive nature of the warehouse' collection was not possible. In the meantime I had already visited the computer repair shop it actually is and picked it up - it was about 3 feet away from the guy behind the counter! If you look at their terms & conditions they say they will pay to return your laptop - see below:-
6. sellyourlaptops.co.uk hold the right to cancel any quotes at any time. If your quote is cancelled while the laptop is in our hands we will pay for the laptop to be returned to you unless in conflict with any other terms. Sellyourlaptops.co.uk will cancel orders that do not contain complete details such as full name, validated email address or incomplete address details. Due to data protection we do not hold your details if we are cancelling the order as your details will be deleted from the system.

Address for people wanting to visit them is:-
309 London Road
Hazel Grove
Stockport
SK7 4PS

Do not deal with these people if you already haven't!

I found this place on the internet, they buy used laptops for cash or you can donate the cash to www.place2be.co.uk or some similar named charity based in london. You send the laptop receive a cheque 7 or so weeks later watch it bounce, then try to contact them, impossible.
