Iam with this company since a 3 month but what happens when my air-conditioned not working. 1st. They need 3 years maintenance records. And not any company. Plus they need pictures of the compressor to see how old and too many things. And I live in Texas imagine I stay without A/C till they decide what they want to do
Select employs a knowledgeable and friendly customer service team, unlike a previous warranty company I had. Select answered all of my questions and gave me all my documents vis email without the need to transfer me around other departments. I am fully telling all my friends about this company and thank you Select fior setting the customer service bar sooo high that all others can't compare to your stands of excellence!
All they do is lie to keep from replacing an item that need replacing. They didn't replace my a. C unit, because they lied and said. It was due from an electrical problem which was not true. My other a. C need to be fix. This time, they saying I have a freon leak, which is not true. They will lie and add in their notes something that's not cover to keep from replacing the item. I will be sending my complaint to the office in Austin, Tx. If anyone had or have a complaint about SHW call this number *******049 or email them. Enough is enough
They have good customer service and find services quickly. The problem is that contractors don't want to come and service Select Home Warranty customers. My first time filing a claim, the contractor SHW provided me with(1st leak response) calling me back complaining about waiting for SHW payments for over 4 months, that contractor turn down my order and said he will not answer SHW phone calls. The second claim i submit, i called the contractor (Texan Mechanical) that SHW provided me with, to make an appointment. The contractor was ready to give me an appointment when i told him my order number and insurance name he said he was not setting appointment for "them" yet. SHW clients was not his priority. The third and last claim i submitted. The contractor (Lujano Plumbing) changed my appointment 4 times. When he came told me that Select Home Warranty wont cover my broken water pipe and wanted me to pay the whole service, part, labor etc to him and for me to submit a refund to SHW. He also complained about SHW owning him 15,000.
This is how it goes with SHW. You submit a claim and it take 2 labor days to get you a contractor (if you call on Saturday it will take the 4 days). Then the contractor takes 2 days to give you an appointment. Then the contractor submit by email his report and it take SHW to 2 labor days to approve. Once approved contractor has to set up another appointment. It takes about 3 weeks to have the work done.
I have had other home warranties and as a realtor Ive had good service. Home Select takes your money and never comes out or responds to calls. They refused to come out and even look at my hot water heaters and no one ever responded to my first claim Why do I even have this warranty that cost me 800 dollars. They are a scam and I am furious!
I call and requested an claim for a pipe changing because water was liking and the lady who picked my call was very nice and helpful. She didn't wasted any time and take all the information and process the claim for me. I was very happy with the service. Great service
When I called about a roof leak they came up with every excuse they could - my favorite being my home was 20 ft tall & the roofer was afraid of falling. When I recovered from laughing I asked "then why are the roofers in the roofing business". Representative was very rude & tried every trick in the book to keep me from cancelling my contract. I went with another maintenance company - not only did they cover some items that Select would not cover - my new company does not fine you for cancelling for any reason. So SAVE your money & go with a company who cares & is professional.
The gentleman was very thorough and within minutes I have received an email for the company and to set up an appointment. So far I can say I am very pleased. Thank you Joyce Kiff
We just bought a house and bought a SHW home warranty because, obviously, we did not know all the kinks we might find. We did all the BS, having a realtor and private inspection done. Then during a bad rain storm we found a leak in our laundry room roof. Now this passed our county inspectors/permit but we learned that it was done wrong and funnels water into the ceiling. Because it was done wrong, SHW says they won't fix it. Next, our hot water heater quit. After 3 days waiting for SHW to pick a plumber, he told them he would replace all the parts for $28.00 plus labor. But because it was under factory warranty, SHW would not let the plumber do it. We were told we had to wait for manufacturer to send us the parts in two weeks. No shower for two weeks is crazy. So without checking anything else the plumber left. I bought the parts ($60.00 at Home Depot by the way) and installed myself. Still no hot water. Luckily my neighbors kid is electrician and he found that I was only getting 120 power from a 240 breaker. Another $10.00 out of my pocket for breaker and $10.00 for beer to pay the kid and I now have hot water. SHW did absolutely nothing but take my monthly premium. I'm currently talking with attorney about sueing the seller of the house and may see if I can go after SHW as well. They're useless! Heed my warning... do not contract with this company. J. H.
I bought a policy from Ryan Boyd. He boasted about top quality claim support. My first claim is still outstanding. Very disappointed. #regret
This company is totally SCAM. All they do nothing and you have to pay copaymets and over pay cost from your pocket and wasting lot of time calling centre in Philipines. Horrible exprience.
This business is ABSOLUTELY terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone. I have been without hot water for 3 months now and they have not made one follow up call or followed up with any of the technicians they sent to my house - oh after a $75 service fee several times. Problem was never resolved on their end. When i call and ask to speak with a manager, there is never one available. Makes it more frustrating when every customer service person you speak with, isn't american and they read from a script. USELESS! Don't waste your money. Endless amount of time wasted on this company.
E service is very bad. My dishwasher has been broken for a month. The company they contract with to fix it has lied repeatedly. I called Select Home Warranty to tell them my dishwasher was still broken and they said someone would get back to me in 1-2 business days. 2 weeks later I had to call back and get the run around again. Save your money!
Select Home Warrenty is not right! During a pandemic I paid a plumber out of pocket over $750+ & I was only reimbursed $125?! Come on man that's some bulls#it! The policy was only $1050! Why did I pay for a warranty & still paying for services that is supposed to be covered by the policy?! I don't get it but to that company, I hope they get it together in the future, but for now it's a NO GO!
My refrigerator went completely out 6 days ago. I have not been contacted. I called to ask what I'm supposed to do. I was told I have to wait for someone to contact me. I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told I'd need to give my address in order to speak to a manager. I insisted and was put on hold for a long time. I finally hung up and I'm still waiting to be contacted. Meanwhile, I still don't have a fridge and I lost about $200 of food. I will be switching companies as soon as possible.
Greg Thompson was very informative and helpful with our warranty selection. He went over pricing and add ons and answered each question with respect. He didn't make me feel rushed and made our decision easy. Kudos to Greg.

I got the plan in 2018 and was told I will get a free month a week after I signed up I was sent a email for a review for another free month. In the past I asked them to remove my credit card so they don't bill me and when they send me an email about the bill we can talk about the free month that I should of had years before. So here we are 2021 and a call every month for 2 years and today was the end of that after talking to 2 managers the credit was applied to my acct but later in the day I get an email saying my account is canceled. Lol what a mess. I did 2 claims since I had the acct one which took 4 days for them to send someone out th fix the ac while in the summer of az. And the 2nd one which was a garbage disposal which they will not send anyone out to fix you have to do that on your own and they give you 75.00 credit which the garbage disposal is more than that it self. The 3rd one i kept getting emails the day the ppl was to come look at the issues saying the appt was canceled so I fixed it out of my own pocket. Bottom line this company caused more head ach than dealing with any issue I've actually had to call them for. I went to a different company
Warranty companies like this give all a bad name. I'm not sure how this company has any positive reviews. The review's must have been purchased, or not real because we have had 3 claims, and each time they will not send anyone out to fix, but each time I received an email that the item is not worth anything. There reply was purchase another appliance, and offer $45 toward new purchase. The items were a ice maker in a refrigerator, a $1500 refrigerator a micro wave in a complete oven set $3000 new, and the latest a ceiling fan $225. Useless.

Answer: Based on Internet searches but quickly found out that they are a SCAM.
Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
