I just wanted to clear a little bit of air about how Schwan's is doing things nowadays. A lot of the new news and changes were sent to customers emails. Delivery options are still available every two weeks. You do not have to pre-order,
If you do, the only reason for a debit or credit card while ordering, is to save the order, you will not be charged until the driver is at the door. They are implementing a text first, digital door knock. This text is automated and goes out in the morning to ask if you would like service that day. They're trying to help battle the cost of the economy by keeping the drivers off the road as much as possible. Especially with the cost of fuel, changing out tires and oil. And giving more control to the customer as to whenever they would like to be seen. This also allows the drivers to be home in a decent time to be with their families. Schwan's has also downsized the company where needed, to furthermore bring prices back down. Some drivers are just on a different route now or different days. I'm not a fan of sales, but they really are a decent company. They care about their people and their customers and do the best that they can with it. They deliver a quality product with 100% guarantee, even if you do not like the taste of something!
We planned in advance to have our order delivered the 10th between 3 and 6 even called to verify never showed kids bday party which part of the order was for was the 11th so as a result Schwann's negligence ruined the weekend in all. Rude customer service worker very disappointed
I bought Schwans on a regular basis for 8 years. I spent anywhere from $100.00 to $300.00 every other week.
Steven, did an excellent job. They terminated him and shut the "hub" down.
My first delivery with the new guys was terrible! EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was thawed. I called immediately to inform them. I spoke with a young guy named, Jay. He said he'd let his "team" know and correct it. While speaking with him he said he received permission to credit the order. I asked if he wanted me to take pictures. He said no. I asked if the guys would come back and take the order back. He said no. He did state that it would take a week for my card to show credit. A week later it still didn't show credit. I called Schwans again and spoke to, Mary. She gave me the same song and dance, Jay did. I had told you them both if I didn't receive my credit I would be contacting the BBB and the Attorney General. I now have open cases with both agencies.
I will NEVER, EVER spend money on Schwans EVER again!
They are liars and thieves? Big time liars.
I cannot believe how horrible they've become. It's a shame.
I kept a couple of the thawed yogurt bars because I didn't trust Schwans. If I were home I could take a picture of it. It wouldn't do any good because they wouldn't acknowledge anything because they're lying jerks!
I'm done with Schwan's after 20 years. They've increased prices beyond ridiculous, lowered quantity, and now have limited deliveries…or for me, didn't bother to come with my order at all…. UPDATE. The fellow FINALLY showed up…1 1/2 hours PAST my 3-6pm delivery window. Never called, never apologized. Just said … I was really busy. Well so am I. A little courtesy please after spending $128.00 of which you get a commission. I used to get 6 personal pepperoni pizza's 11.99 Now they want $7.49 FOR 2? The Pot Roast was $26.99 NOW ITS $39.99 and garlic bread was 9.99 now $13. This LONG TIME customer is DONE. Here are photos I of the condition of some of my delivery, which I took it out of the bag after he had gone. The Pot Roast box was unfrozen and cardboard soggy, and the soup container RIM seal WAS broken and pieces of the lid rim WAS inside the soup…. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE For spending $101.13 for 6 items. I'm Still waiting for Schwan's my Receipt to come, but my Bank notified me of the charge to my account
To be honest I'm not going to slam on the food from this company itself, although it's pretty overpriced. It seems like this place is going slowly downhill though. They used to just charge for the food. Then they added a delivery food unless you put in a large order. Then they started losing some of the deals. There used to be a variety - some picked for you, some site-wide, some daily deals, there was a fairly large number to choose from, many tailored just for you. Now it seems to be a lot fewer, a very small discount, and often for the same things that just aren't interesting.
Now it's even gotten more annoying, to the point where I'm wondering if I want to continue to order from them. There are a few things that I do like from them, some of them quite a bit, and will treat myself to even though they're overpriced. However I usually order less frequently than the usual two-week period (maybe once every month and a half or so, which also lets me save up multiple things to get at once to save on the delivery fee).
This wasn't too bad since you can at least sign up for a "we're stopping by tomorrow" text reminder which would remind me to either order through their website or use the handy "skip this date" thing on the website. Now however they're switched to a "Smart experience" thing where you can't even do this. It's supposedly that they stop by "when you want something" but... as far as I can tell nothing has changed. They still stop by every two weeks, and now you don't have the option to just tell them "no, skip this date" which means that I'll have to get interrupted in my workday for absolutely nothing and just get further annoyed.
So just know what you're getting into with this - the food isn't amazing but it's not bad overall (some things I hate, a few things I actually love), and it's convenient to have it delivered. But (to me anyhow) it's overpriced, and just know that you're signing up to have them constantly want you to buy.
Edited to add: I had forgotten to mention - there is also no email option to try that route to just see if I can let them know to stop by (not that I'd bet it would work), and their automated chat program is both unhelpful and annoying, with loud popping sounds every time it "types" at you.
I will add though that my driver that usually delivers here at least is a nice guy, and will do his best to help me out.
Not liking no more delivery every 2 weeks with the guy we like for over 10 years, that just found out he's no longer working for them! One day notice. Now we have to order on line and use a card, I dont use a card I write a check. I know old school but no liking people losing there jobs when the people in our area like the same people and schedule. They need to ask the people that buy off of them before getting rid of people and change. We work and he always delivers nad puts it where its to be. We will not have that anymore! Not sure if I will really order to much anymore, this is so disappointing on a company that has been around for so many years and letting it go to hell just like everyone else since 2020! People need to just keep it going and not changing everyone's lives! OHIO
I was a very satisfied customer of Schwan's from 2018 to 2022. That's when I received an email notifying me of the removal of all customer courtesies, and bonus points, plus, the company would be changing its name to Yelloh. It's Aug. 2023 and there's no trace of a new corporate name.
No longer would customers be able to get free shipping if a certain dollar amount per order was reached, nor any points accumulated with frequent ordering be available. All gone. I found that a number of my favorite products were hardly available, and if back in stock, other favorites were not. The prices are not competitive nor is there any reason to look forward to sale notices. $2 off products I have no interest in will not have me order them. Calling customer service is a time waster. None of the reps I've spoken with during 2023 have any more knowledge about products, restock dates, etc. than I do
We enjoyed the food we received. Food arrives quickly and still frozen-even the ice cream. We have not experienced any problems with service. I don't know why they are changing their name though…?
Company is a joke. Don't know how they are still in business. I delt with them once on phone. $#*! them. They can suck it. $#*! suckers. The driver was nice
Terrible service Warehouse is 1 1/2 miles from home, 3 times it has been promised for delivery and still no product.
Suspended the route to our area and kept sending messages to my email that I would be getting my order not on one day (June 14,2022), but on yet another day (June 15,2022). The representative that I spoke with was patient and listened to my concerns, however Schwan's was sold out of any and all of the items that were on my order that consisted of ~$100.
Our house was spending approx $700-1000 Dollars a month with this company, every month. We had a $40.00 dollar disagreement over a coupon, they would not budge on this coupon on a very large order. I said if they didn't honor it, we would find another service, the Support Rep said that's ok and we no longer use them. Imagine our loyal driver's surprise when they lost a customer paying 8-12K/Year every year over $40.00. So not only did they treat us poorly, they allowed a driver to lose significant steady revenue. I feel bad for the driver, she is a nice lady.
I was a customer for 3 months. I never, not once received an order that was complete, the ice cream is good but everything else is just not worth the money. What broke the camels back is I placed an order and it never even showed up. I called and discovered the route was canceled, they never sent email or nothing informing me of that. I absolutely will not refer anyone to Schwan's... bottom line us they SUK
I am super Happy with Schwan's food and delivery. I can't say as much about their Customer Service. They raised their prices a couple months ago without anything being said to the loyal customers. I understand everything costs everyone more but don't try to sneak something by us. There have been a few other issues I have tried to resolve through Customer Service unsuccessfully when asked for a Supervisor the response is I can have one call you in 2-3 days. I will say at-least they speak English and I believe they are here in the USA.
IF you can get them to your door, they hardly have Any inventory Even if you pre-order it.
The truck hardly Ever show up every 2 weeks like they're supposed to.
However, The LAST GIANT ISSUE
Was I wanted to surprise my sister with ice cream and frozen dog treats for her dog.
But instead of delivering it on the regular Schwan's delivery truck, they charge you a Hefty Delivery Fee and send it UPS instead.
Well, it wasn't delivered on time.
In fact, I kept tracking the $48. Package and it was going to be Delayed 2 Days! 2 Days Later, NO Delivery! So Again I Had To Track The Delivery I Already Paid For.
Just To Find Out It Would Be Another Dang Day! IT'S ALL "ICE CREAM PRODUCTS!
SO AN ANGRY ME, Called Schwan's And Gave Them A Piece of My Mind... They Had The AUDACITY TO Offer Me Another Opportunity To Redeliver Another A New One. Since It Would Be Bad Whenever It Arrived. WOW! Ya Think?
I Demanded My $48. Back On My Card. Of Course The Guy Told Me It Would Take About 10 Days To Show Up On My Card. I Found That Amazing Since It Didn't Take Them, 10 Days To Get It OFF My Card!
WHY, WOULD They EVEN Send It UPS, When They Have Schwan's Delivery In That Area? HOW DUMB!

I've been a Schwan's customer for almost 40 years. But I've noticed during the last couple of years the quality and Ice cream selection has been going down hill. I remember a time when Schwan's was known for some of the best ice cream with a selection that was unlike anyone else. Now with a couple of selection and more than once the ice cream was gritty because it had thawed at one point and was re frozen. I call the customer support line and they blew me off so after 40 years it's time to go our separate ways. This is too bad, I feel that the company has gone cheep and there quality and selection has suffered.
One day after posting the original review, the company has finally resolved the issue to my satisfaction! As a result, I have updated the rating from two stars to four stars; hopefully, there will be no further issues with customer service, thereby causing me to edit this again.
Food is great, delivery drivers are awesome, but your customer service supervisors are the absolute worst!
For more than two months I have been engaged in conversations with at least two different customer service supervisors attempt to resolve an issue; I have been met with incompetence and/or false promises each time. As a matter of fact, I am still waiting for the promised email / call back from the phone conversation on Monday, 7 February 2022@ 2:50 pm.
As a result of the utter incompetence of your customer service supervisors, Schwan's Home Delivery will be losing at least $2,000 in annual revenue from the members of this family! That seems a rather high price to pay for something that should have been so very simple to rectify... Y'all need to do better!
We have not had any problems with any of our food. But I recently bought the new Classic Apple Pie. It is not good. The crust is horrible. The old fashioned Apple Pie was the best and now it's discontinued. Not sure why this has to happen.
I did not order anything ahead of time but the Schwan's driver came to my house anyway so I bought a package of shrimp & broccoli alfredo skillet meal which I had bought in the past and I think it is very good. What I do not like and don't understand is why I'm charged $3.99 delivery fee! I didn't tell the driver to come to my house and the product was already on his truck so he didn't go out of his way to deliver it to me. I don't think I'll order anything from Schwan's again.
As a long customer of Schwan food there has been a couple recent disappointments.
My deliveries are always every other week but just last week I waited all day with no delivery
I called Schwan and was told my delivery was put off for a couple wks. There was no call indicating this and I would not have known unless I called. There was no explanation or feed back from the company after 5 days.
This has been terribly disappointing as a long time customer.
Sorry Schwan but we are parting ways.

Answer: Very slow contact response. I spent several hours communicating my issues to them. Was not provided an acceptable resolution so I just canceled my orders and won't buy from them again.
