They are very expensive now and way overpriced and they no longer have the book as a option to order from and to look at. They no longer take cash. You can't order from the schwan's man now you have to do it by either calling the company or by downloading their stupid app. They got rid of a lot of product's that I love. Overall they're so not worth it anymore. It wouldn't bother me in the least if that company shut down all together.
My husband was able to download their app on his laptop and order specific items in advance. This makes it so easy to shop and save without leaving home. It's especially convenient for my elderly relative wanting some groceries and not wanting to go out. Shwan's employees/drivers are very nice and helpful. Give them a try as I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
The service used to be decent, however over the last few years they have changed their delivery model. On top of their already super expensive food, they now do not have a universal day they show up so instead of it being every Monday every other week they show up whenever the hell they want. And on top of that if you now choose to buy food off them without ordering it online they will charge a fee just for buying food off them despite the fact that they're going to show up regardless if you ordered something or not. And then if you go online to order it, they have almost tripled the price of the delivery charge for ordering online, (at the time of this writing is now $3.99 per order up from $1.75) from the last time that we ordered. And also now has days that you have to ship through UPS instead of using their vendor, and if you choose that option it's $20 for a delivery charge alone. The service is overall not worth what it provides anymore and anyone who is using the service is just wasting their money.
Out of my last delivery I'm 0/2. I ordered the chicken fajita sheet pan meal and it was super hot. I ate the chicken chili today and have had a stomach ache from it ever since. I've been a pretty long time customer and am disappointed that their food is not as good as it used to be. Also they use genetically modified ingredients. I'm done ordering their meals.
We used to love ordering from Schwan's years ago. The food quality and service has gone down significantly. Three out of three orders we have had issues. The first order the date was moved from Monday (I had someone waiting for it) to Friday with no notifications. I only found out by going onto the app and seeing the change in date. The second order I received an email I had cancelled my order. I had not. Called in and apparently they didn't have a driver available but did ship it in dry ice which was nice. Now we are to the third delivery which was scheduled for 6/5/23. It was changed to 6/19/23 with no explanation. I called to complain and they offered to ship it at no charge with 6/6/23 delivery. I checked the app later and the one product that had kept me coming back was no longer on the order. I called and it was added back. Two charges are still pending but I just looked and my favorite item is gone again. I don't plan on ordering again even though I really like their omelettes and double chocolate bars.
I've been dealing with them for a couple of years. Happy with food quality and portions. Service rep was outstanding. Then, incentives dropped from 5% to 1%. Then, without notice, my delivery charges went from zero to $9.99 for the same amount of items. No notice of change in terms of service was given. Today, there are other alternatives. Changing their name to "Yelloh" will not resolve their less-than-stellar performance.
Packaging was great, all the food was frozen when it arrived.
As far as quality, If I could give lower then one star, I would. The food was not good at all. It was sent to me and my family as a gift, and I was upset my mom spent her money on it. It was truly terrible food.
When my mother spoke to customer service, all the offered her was a $20 coupon, which she declined as she has no intentions on ever ordering from them again. Terrible food, and customer service.
This meatloaf is really good. I've had many good meatloaf in my day, but this is darn good stuff! DO RECOMMEND!
First of all, Schwans was supposed to had been at my residence today between noon at 3pm. So at 130 i call, i am told they will be here by 3. Okay cool. So 330 rolls around, still nothing. I call again, they say you are on the roster, and i can see the driver hasnt made a stop in 20 minutes and apologize for them being late. I left work early to meet with them! They dont care about anyone elses pockets but their own! They dont know where their drivers are? Like what? How do you not know where YOUR vehicles are at on the road running a business like that? You can see the last stop they made and thats it? You cant get ahold of your drivers? I find that somewhat unbelievable!
Ordering was quick and easy. Scheduled a delivery drop off. Products taste amazing. Will order again soon!
I have been a customer of Schwan's for over ten years, and I was always satisfied and often delighted, but not any more. Since they began "transitioning to Yelloh", the quality of the food has steadily declined. In my last order, which really will be my last order, the food was terribly disappointing. The beer battered cod had almost no cod in it, and the batter had the flavor and texture of wet cardboard. The Philly style beef was like wet cardboard, too, and it made me so sick that I vomited. The sesame chicken was so sweet that I couldn't eat it, and I like sweet foods. The chicken broccoli and mushrooms with rice was mostly rice, with only two fragments of mushroom and a few tiny bits of broccoli. There was enough chicken, about 6 bites, but it should have had less rice and more mushrooms and broccoli. I have tried to call their customer service, but they play that recorded message that they have too many calls and I will have to wait on hold for an hour. I couldn't find any way to chat, text or email them. I am done with them.
Tried what I thought was going to be a delicious apple pie like I remembered. Boy! Was that a bad idea. It appeared smaller and top crust didn't look appetizing (more like cardboard). Recommended heating temperature too low was the first clue. Crust texture was more like cardboard just like it looked. Tasted about how one would think cardboard might taste! Then, the apples…nothing like the original pies in taste or texture! Bland, near tasteless. Normally, one had to force oneself not to eat the whole thing when piping hot. Now, it was so easy to step away and leave it. Just a sad ending to what should have been the enjoyment of a great dessert. And, to ad insult to injury, the price was extremely high for a less than third rate dessert.
Took money from my account that they were told NOT to and now I still have not gotten a refund. Continue to give me the run around! I will NEVER shop with this company again!
Since Schwans can no longer afford to supply catalogs, need to order online, how will they keep customers that do not own or unable to use a computer, Seems that they will lose many customers, Poor decisions.
I ordered some product on Dec.21 I was immediately sent an email saying I would be contacted within 2 days and be notified of my delivery never happened. I finally called a week later, and delivery was set up for Dec 28 On that day it was canceled late in the afternoon and set up for Jan 11 I have repeatedly contacted support and never got any answers. I immediately tried one of the dinners when I finally received my order on Jan 11 I am fairly sure the meat loaf had mode on it and I threw it out
Beware of schwan's Loveland Colorado not to mention anybody in their customer service they will not call you back you can be disabled vet you could be hurt their driver can sexually assault your wife GRAB INAPPROPRIATELY and they don't care they are the worst company in the world caution Richard out of Loveland Colorado is a poor poor supervisor anybody in this corporation that reads this you should have your driver arrested and Richard Loveland Colorado with him for condoning this behavior!@
I made ONE purchase through Schwan's for a product I could no longer find in the grocery stores. What I bought was okay but the intrusiveness of the delivery person/sales person was annoying as hell. He tried to pressure me during delivery to make additional purchases but I said if I was interested in doing business again I'd contact them. Within a week, I also received a phone call and txt message again pressuring me to buy. While the food was good enough to buy again, I will NOT deal with the company again. I'll bet this delivery person was a used car or insurance salesman in a previous life.
Company is down the drain.Marvin schwan worked people to death. Long hours, little more than minimum wage. Now look what that did for the food service industry
I've been with Schwan's for years. Many changes over the years. The new system of ordering online to be delivered sucks. I've tried twice more to pre-order. The driver gets here and doesn't have my order. I even had a confirmation number. So I didn't order for a couple of weeks. Tried again to get some peppermint ice cream,available once a year. Made online order, for rewards applied schedule for Monday. The driver shows up today, can't give me my rewards and wants full payment, no rewards. Nope. I will wait until Monday when they SAY they are coming back. We will see. I may be done with Schwan's. Very expensive headache.
I had placed an order on 09. 21. 22 to be delivered 09. 26. 22. I took that day off of work. I had to call to find out there wasn't even a truck in my area. My delivery was moved to 10. 05. 22. My Husband took the morning off, and I took the afternoon off. Still no delivery. I was given $25 worth of Schwans credit to use. I can't even get a delivery to my home so I can use the f*ucking credit. Pitiful. My 3 prior orders were similar to this most recent one. Very angry. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I asked for a supervisor several times and was never put in contact with one.
Answer: Very slow contact response. I spent several hours communicating my issues to them. Was not provided an acceptable resolution so I just canceled my orders and won't buy from them again.
