I really, really wish I had looked up their reviews - especially on the Better Business Bureau website. Interestingly, the BBB posts a red warning flag that there has been a pattern of complaints that the fragrances do not at all match; and recently - just in the past week - ScentMatchers has taken down their e-commerce website and now only does business with repeat customers who are happy with the fragrances they've done. The company itself admits it has been bombarded with complaints and requests for refunds, even though they do state they don't do returns/refunds. I knew that when I ordered, thinking that if it were a little off it would still be wearable; but I never dreamed it could be this bad.

In terms of my own belatedly regrettable experience - throwing away $81.99 based on their assertion that they can match fragrances (which IS chemically possible, look at all the artificial flavorings in food - in fact for someone with a severe allergy to strawberries, even fake strawberry flavoring will trigger it) I was certainly not expecting what I actually got. I so wish I had read these reviews first. After reading the same thing from so many others, I have to agree that most of the positive reviews have got to be fake. I ordered a match of Chanel No 19, the original fragrance before the "reinterpretation" that happened something like 10 years ago. I don't like the new version. I emailed them and they assured me they could do this. It arrived yesterday. First of all they represent their products as a parfum, and this was so weak it could not possibly be a parfum. But they charge as if it were. Next, I noticed what just about every other (non-fake) reviewer says, that it does not even remotely resemble the fragrance they wanted to match. I sprayed it on my wrist, and the first notes - extremely faint - resembled old-fashioned hair laquer, like my mother used in the 70s. That soon faded to what I can only describe as bar soap. Nothing that I would ever wear as a fragrance, whether or not I was wanting to wear Chanel 19. As everyone else says, they must be making outrageous profits selling water with a few chemicals in it for $70 - $80 a pop.

Like many I did not read the negative reviews before ordering. I first got a bad feeling when it shipped quickly. How could they match so quickly. Then I hoped the fragrance received would at least smell good if it didn't match. It didn't. It's not even close to what was ordered. I believe they send the same stink to everyone and hope someone will like it. I'm surprised they have any decent reviews at all assuming they are not fake. To give them the benefit of the doubt maybe I was just one of the many unlucky, unfortunate ones. My advice is don't take the risk. It's too expensive.

Horrible product. Horrible customer service. Tried to get them to help me. They said sorry your disappointed.

My wife has been wanting "Christian Audigier by Christian Audigier for women" ever since they stopped producing it. She was extremely happy when we found "ScentMatchers", who actually promote the product in their listing of fragrances. When we received the product it was actually a cologne for men. Not even near the sent of Christian Audigier.

We emailed the company to find out what had happened. Maybe we're had received the wrong order.
The email we received back was:

To make a long story short;
If you like to play Russian Roulette with Perfumes, I'd say go ahead order from ScentMakers. If you really want a good perfume i suggest you go to a store/order at a reliable store online and spend the $80 on an actual perfume you like.

They are just a group of scammers that sends people a bottle of alcohol mix with a bathroom deodorizer, STAY AWAY from them, I ordered last year a perfume from Houbigant and what I received was the same bottle they send to everybody, alcohol mix with a weird stinking smell, I know is the same thing because everybody complains that smells like alcohol with some kind a cheap smell. They like to portrait their company as a holson family place, they even send pictures of them, but I'm almost sure is only a couple of guys taking orders, sending their $0.99 bottles to us unsuspected customers, the rest of their time they spend it writing good reviews for themselves, so don't believe them. This pathetic company have my email address and have send me more than 20 emails claiming that they are closing down and to hurry up to purchase their perfumes, I have reply to them to stop sending emails because they are just scammers, but they don't care, they just continue sending emails. I hope that my review can help a couple of people not to get robe like I did.

I ordered Merveille by Johan B and it smelled nothing like the original. It smells cheap and definitely not worth the $60 I paid in all honesty I would not pay $5 for this garbage! To top it off they offered me no kind of alternative solution, they just took my money and said "Sorry... we did our best" Honestly THE WORST COMPANY I have dealt with in a long time. I do not like to leave bad reviews but the fact that they basically said sorry about your luck, but we tried our best made up my mind to post this review. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE FRAUDULENT CROOKS!

I ordered Tommy Hilfiger Freedom and what I received was nothing like it! Emailed support and asked for refund or to make the correct perfume. All I got was no returns, money back and they will not remake product. If they stand by there product then they should be responsible for making mistakes. I am disappointed... I was really looking forward to smelling that perfume again. This is bad business and I wish I would of seen the reviews before I spent $80 on garbage that will end up in the trashcan.

DO NOT BUY FROM SCENTMATCHERS! I have been sparingly using the last bottle of my favorite fragrance because it is discontinued. When I saw the ad for Scentmatchers, and then saw the perfume listed on its list, I was so excited. Then... I received the package. Before I even opened it fully, I could smell that it was NOTHING like the scent I wanted. NOT EVEN CLOSE. It smelled like strong alcohol or something. So gross. I emailed the company asking them to check that I was mailed the correct product, because what I received is not even close to what I ordered. This is the response I received...
