I've been a member since 2013. Shopping in bulk has always been a budget friendly choice for my family and I. What I liked most about Sam's was their many varieties of name brand products, as well as store brand, at an affordable price. From personal needs to housewares, they have something for your day to day needs. As well as their Plus membership benefits.
Lately, I've noticed that their prices has really went up, especially their poultry...ouch. A Lot of items they use to carry are no longer available. Shipping orders take longer to get to you, at least mine did. Their Plus membership is $10 higher this year, with taxes it's $116.70 in my area. Plus no longer offers the 5 percent cash back, it's 2 percent now. Early bird shopping is no longer available in our area since COVID, even though it states it's a part of their Plus membership. Use to be free shipping with Plus, now it's free shipping on most items.
Our renewal was due on Nov 22. We've never done auto renewal, always paid online or in person. Sam's however, took it upon themselves to charge my card for the renewal fee...without our consent. I contacted them immediately and requested a refund. In order to get my refund, they had to cancel our membership...fine with me. The rep offered a $50 store credit in order to get us to stay, no thank you. As I told him, I'm not ok with anyone charging my card without my consent, no matter how long I've been with them. Especially since the changes I've noticed. I received my refund in a few days.
If I ever go back to Sam's, it'll just be the reg membership, but as of now, we are in no hurry to do so. A bit of advice, don't ever allow any business/website to save your credit/debit card info. They can have free will with it anytime they choose.
We are a family of 4 who live 75 miles from the nearest club. We liked Sam's and signed up for Plus for online only shopping as it was our only option. 9 months in, Sam's website didn't let us return. Chatted with customer service, was told it was a website issue. I continued to order not knowing they had already re-categorized our account as high volume/bulk. Never heard of it before. Finally, we were told by their back office about this bulk/high volume by email with a link to a statement that Sam's would not accept returns from this category. Explained to them that we were not bulk, we just lived far from a club and the only way to buy from Sam's was online. We bought clothes, shoes for our kids, which sometimes fit well sometimes didn't. We trusted their return policy "no question asked". But somehow while not knowing this category of bulk/high volume, we were re-categorized without being notified until we initiated a return (of size 7 boys shirts that were way too big than a usual size 7 shirt elsewhere). We got another reply from Sam's back office pretty much repeated what they said before like a robot was talking to us. And the last order of children Zyrtec was cancelled quietly without us being notified. We waited and waited and ran out of the meds for our kids and checked to find out the order was cancelled. The credit card transaction said pending.
We will contact our credit card for help and will get a dispute for the membership fee.
We are disappointed. Their Plus business model is bleeding out their profits, but it was them who created this Plus membership. When we signed up, they were happy to take our $1xx for the membership fee without any warning or footnote saying anything about them one day could decide that we had ordered too many things with free shipping. They started the deal and broke it and bullied us who are just a small family.
Each time I try to purchase items at Sam's Club I find the items are not in stock. First it was frozen cherries, then bacon, and now member's mark butter; to mention only a few. Every time the items were listed on their web page as being available only to find the item was not in stock after taking the ride to the store. Sam's Club membership is becoming more and more WORTHLESS as days go by.
Had a de-magntized gift card and it was a headache from he'll however 3 hrs later finally got it figured out and I was able to get gas and go home. Thank you again Jonny at Sam's club in draper
The meat department will not answer the phone. The customer service rep answered and transferred me back where I started. Now customer service will not pick up? Is this what my membership pays for? No answers. No customer service? The one time I need assistance.
Member's Services desk today a very helpful Ms Ana B finished my members registration, a shinning star at Sam's Club. She made my experience worth the trip
I placed an order for Christmas Cards on 12/9/22. At the time of my order it appeared that my cards would be ready and shipped out within a few days. There is no progress on my order and it is a week later. I have contacted their photo department customer service (in Nicaragua) multiple times. They have no information, they are not able to communicate with the Photo vendor to determine the status of my order or where it will be shipping from. This has been a customer service nightmare with long wait times and no answers. Do yourself a favor and pick another store to order your photo cards from.
Signed up to try out Sam Club nearby my house, but regretted it after the first visit, their customer service has only one line and it was long, all the employees were standing around chatting with each other. Went in and bought a pie and a few items, the pie was too sweet, and the frozen pie tasted way better, bought a chicken salad, way too salty. On my way out, I thought I will try the hotdog that Costco is famous for, there was only one line to the food counter so I keep on walking. Now I know why they can't compete with Costco. Probably will never come back again.
I recently purchased a large screen tv to be delivered with 'white glove' service, which includes unpacking, attaching legs to tv, setting on tv stand, and removal of packing. I was never notified of delivery date/time, men just showed up at door. As I had not been able to prepare space, my choices were refuse delivery or have it dropped off. Sam's agent DID NOT HELP in scheduling men back out to finish and delivery service not reachable.
I've tried endlessly for 3 to 4 hours two days in a row, to cancel my membership and I get to talk to at least 3 to 4 people each car and then the car gets canceled. I called back and go through the same thing. Never again will I use Sams again.
Frequently out of basics like sugar and eggs, both of which are readily available at sister store Walmart for LESS. Last visit, Sam's was out of three of four often purchased items. I returned the 8 items to the shelves, left, went to Walmart where I was able to purchase ALL of my needed items for LESS. Bread that I previously paid nearly $5 at Sam's was $1 and better quality.
Not a huge fan of having to wait in long lines just to do the check out myself and then having to wait in another long line at the door for them to check if I checked out right. Not sure I'll do this much longer
I bought several of multiple items a couple weeks ago. These were toys a total of 15 for my nieces and nephews for Christmas. I only received a few of the items like 1 each of like 3 of them. It showed the rest were pending initially then it changed to they had all been delivered. I have contacted customer service 2x by phone, 1x by chat, and 1x by fb messenger all replying they would help with the issue and are sending it to management but I have yet receive the items or be reimbursed. I bought multiple of several items about $350.00 worth and will no longer buy from Sam's club, customer service is awful.
Ordered tires on line from sams club.I was notified tires came in.The sale offered free installation of tires.I went to sam's to get tires and have them put on free. I was informed that the tire department was closeing and I could not have tires put on car.I was told I could buy the tires and drive an hour away to have them put on at concord nh.I was told they should do the free installation. I found the hour drive to much.I found a tire shop near my house that put on my tires.I have poor thoughts of sams were a free service was offered but the only way to receive it was drive way out of my way.
I have been a member for over 5 years and the rudeness of customer service today was the worst I have experienced. Customer service is supposed to be helpful to the customer, they should not be rude, unprofessional and unhelpful just because they can.
I had an incident while pumping gasoline on 11/09/2022 at the Sam's Club #4712, located at ******* Old Katy Rd, Houston, TX *******. The pump failed to turn off and gas flowed out all over my car and the pavement. I was able to manually stop the flow without getting it all over me. I had to wait nearly one hour before a manager would address the issue and take down my complaint because the store had not yet opened to the public. Once the complaint was filed I went to the local car wash and had the car washed and waxed to remove all the gasoline residue. What I was claiming from Sams was reimbursement for the car wash and wax job, a total of $125.00. Today I was informed that I would not be compensated for these charges. The reason: The Walmart Claims Services determined that because the particular Sam's location did not have any prior knowledge of a fault with the pump, prior to my trouble, they could not reasonably be held responsible for any damage, trouble that I experienced. So even if I had major damage to my vehicle resulting from pumping gas at the location, Sam's would not have been held responsible because they had no prior knowledge of a problem.
I ask the WCS Case Manager, Nicki Gibson, if I could speak with someone at corporate to have this resolved outside of the Walmart Claims Services. She said she would pass on my request and if someone deemed it necessary, they would call me back. Bottom line, the extent of Sam's/Walmart interest in their customer is how much they can make off of them. Will not be using Sams for gas any longer and seriously considering cutting them off entirely as one of shopping stops.
I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears but I am reaching out anyway. I placed an order on 11/26 to be delivered to my home. At one point it said that it was out for delivery. When it was a couple of hours beyond the delivery time I checked the status online again just to find out that it had been cancelled and returned to the store. I did an online chat with a very friendly man who said he wasn't able to see what had gone wrong with the order but issued me a $10 gift card and told me I would get my refund in 5 - 7 days. The refund time time is RIDICULOUS! You take payment immediately...you can return it immediately! I checked my bank account today and Sam's is STILL holding my money! I will be posting about this experience everywhere I can find a platform. This happened to me a couple of orders ago and, a time before that, I had a driver insist that I come down and get my order...I wasn't home and he berated me telling me that I had wasted his time. My membership expires on December 8. I'm sure Sam's doesn't care at all about my 1 membership but I won't be renewing.
Bought set of tires at Clearwater Fl, SamsClub and set up 1st available install appt 2 weeks out. Arrived at tire center and stood there while the only associate spent 20 minutes with single customer. I was then told my appt was cancelled b/c it was 20 minutes after appt time and they couldn't fit me in. It was 4pm and they closed at 7pm.
Where I live, in SW Virginia, SC uses "Sparks" delivery services. You place your order and pay for it on the SC website. Sam's notifies Sparks, who offers your order up for pickup & delivery to its drivers. On Monday, the week of Thanksgiving, I placed an important holiday order for delivery on Tuesday between 3pm & 5pm and received email confirmation right away. At 7:00pm on Tuesday, my order had not yet arrived. Sam's online order tracking indicated the order was being processed. I called and was advised nobody from Sparks had picked it up. We rescheduled for Wednesday delivery. The same thing happened without any notification from Sam's. When I called, I was told I could come by and pick up the order myself or cancel it. Just an apology!
Avoid the Sam's Club at Horseblock Road, Medford, NY *******!
Service stinks and one of my favorite things that I always buy at Sam's Club, rotisserie chicken was not cooked properly. I waited for new chicken to be cooked, because whatever they had outside was pale and uncooked and I actually saw the "Cook" remove the chicken 5 minutes before the time to be fully cooked and put it out for sale.
Not tasty and not healthy!
Answer: Sams club has no customer service. Costco is the way to go
Answer: Always clean store. Staff courteous and helpful. Areas stocked items easy to find fast checkout. Whole atmosphere is awesome. No screaming kids
Answer: Call the local store speak to Store Manager who will identify the problem
Answer: IN the store - no problem, it was correct answer. If you are not, try to chat. You can wait a little - not too long, however, you will get help from an associate.
