A few months ago I had a really horrible roommate experience that almost convinced me never to live with a roommate until marriage. My Roommate had a weird sleep disorder where she would not only sleepwalk but he would rearrange everything in the house while she was asleep! One morning I woke up to find that he put my fishbowl with the goldfish my boyfriend got me in the freezer! It was dead by the time I found it and I was so fed up with the situation that I moved into my boyfriends place until I figured out what to do. While there I was doing research online about finding a place o live and I came across a really attractive listing on Roomster that seemed too good to be true but I decided to give it a chance and signed up. It turned out to be totally legit and I contacted the listing owner and secured the room for an amazing rate. Lets hope this time doesn't turn out like the last one!

I recently graduated from culinary school in France and after working in a local restaurant for about a year I applied for a sous chef position at a Michelin rated restaurant in Amalfi Coast called Don Alfonso. After six months not hearing back from them I received a call inviting me to come to Italy to interview with Don Alfonso himself! My interview went so well that they offered me the job on the spot! That night in my hotel room I started looking online for housing solutions. I found Roomster after a quick search online and made a listing looking for a place to rent. About a week before I was scheduled to go to Italy and begin the new position I secured a really nice, comfortable room for a very affordable rate that was within walking distance of the restaurant! So happy to be able to pursue my dream of being a culinary master with one of the best in the game!

I just got a job for a concert promotion company in Austin and I was living in a suburb about three hours away at the time. I commuted for the first week until I realized I need a place, and fast! I went online to see what my options were and I came across Roomster. The site was simple and the layout was intuitive. I made a profile and looked through a few listings for a few days and started messaging different users. Soon enough I found a really good deal on a very affordable room in a place. Couldn’t be happier to be living in the big city now! Excited for this next chapter in my life.

I moved into a college dorm with this kid about six months ago after I was paired up automatically by the schools housing department. I am a huge yoga addict and I go to the studio almost every day to get myself straightened out. My instructor told me that there was an extra room in the studio that used to be used as a meditation room but not many people were signing up for that class so he was looking into other options to see what he could do with the room. I suggested he rent it out on Roomster, I used it to find a roommate for my place when I moved here, it’s a really great site and an easy way to list rooms for rent. A few weeks after listing the room he found a really sweet girl to rent the room and it seems to be working out just great.

I work at a creative studio that produces artwork and clothing and my boss had this homeless street artist living in our space while we incubated him as an artist. At first I was very taken aback because of his strong odor but my boss really believed in him and there was no denying he was a talented painter. Eventually he started selling his pieces for a decent price and we helped him find a place to live through Roomster. The site was very easy to use and we found him a really great room to rent not far from our studio!

I posted an add on Craigslist looking for a room and have been constantly spammed by bots with links to this bogus site. In less the 4 hrs I have received over half a dozen spam texts with links that lead to roomster.com. Any company that employs such methods is one to avoid completely. If they are willing to use such tactics just think about what they will do with your credit card info if you sign up for this bogus site

I happened across Roomster while searching for rooms on craigslist, have to say their site is really cool, very simple intuitive layout and it seems like they had large number of rooms available with varying degrees of quality and pricing.

I used to have this psychotic girlfriend who for some reason used to wander into my roommates room in the middle of the night and it got to the point where my roommate actually moved out. I ended up breaking up with my girlfriend but now I had a vacant room in the apartment and I couldn't afford to live there on my own so I went online to see what my options were. I ended up on Roomster and really liked the layout of their site and it seemed like they had tons of people on there so I made a listing for my available room. Within days I had so many people nagging me about the room I was able to take my pick out of all the applicants it was a really painless experience and their rates were not bad either.

I've always really loved to live alone after a rather off putting event that happened in my college dorm but I recently got a promotion to work at my company's New York office and after looking at places online I realized I wouldn't be able to afford my own place. My boss told me that allot of the employees at their main office used roomster to find places to live so that was my first stop. Turned out to be a really great site I made a profile and a listing that I wanted a room to rent in a doorman building and I found one within a few days through a really nice older gentleman who rents out his vacant bedroom in his incredible loft. Couldn't have found a better deal.

My college is a pretty crazy party school. My house is split with four other people and I probably party the least out of all of them. One night I get home and I find my roommates in the living room with a live goat having some sort of WWE smackdown with his animal in our home. Forget how appalled I was to find them abusing this animal like that but I knew I could not live with these people anymore. One of my professors is always telling students about Roomster so I wanted to check it out and it was actually really great. Being a student I don’t have a huge budget but I was able to find a nice place to rent within my means and best of all I was able to find people who didn’t feel the need to enhance their weekend festivities with farm animal wrestling matches (where they got the goat from ill never know).

I used to have this roommate Carl who I found through a college message board. At first we got along fine we kind of each kept to ourselves and didnt interfere with the other too much. He always had people coming in and out of the apartment and I didn't have a problem with it until I realized he was dealing drugs out of the apartment. I didn't want to call the police but I knew it wasn't a situation I wanted to stay in. After a few weeks of uncertainty in how to move forward my brother told me that he knew of this site Roomster that he used to help his friend find a roommate. We went on the site together and I found a great room to rent close to my job that was actually more affordable than my previous place. Glad to say that I was able to get myself out of that potentially dangerous situation thanks to Roomster.

I started studying for the MCAT’s a few months ago and I need a peaceful environment to study in. I had these Roommates who were big party animals and they were constantly getting home very late in the morning often drunk and waking me up. After a month of this I knew I had to find a solution. I searched for a new place to live online and found Roomster. After some research I decided to try it out and I was very pleased with my experience on the site. It’s real easy to set up an account and I found it to be a hugely helpful resource. Ended up renting a nice quiet bedroom in a lovely two-bedroom downtown. Would definitely recommend to anyone I know looking for a place.

I am a club promoter and work very late nights during the week usually until about 5am. My previous roommate who I had met through my old college roommate was constantly complaining about the hour at which I would get home to which I would respond “If you want to pay my bills then by all means go ahead and I wont have to come home at 5am”. My brother and I recently received funding from an investor group to start our company, we make anti-flea dog leashes and collars. Unfortunately the factory that manufactures our product got shut down due to numerous failed safety inspections. The only factory that we found to replace the old one with the same specifications had a very weird policy that they only do business with local businesses for some odd reason. We decided to go with them anyways because their quality was unbeatable for the rate. But we needed to move. A friend told us about Roomster and we were wary of trying to find a place to live in a new town without the help of an experienced local broker but our friend assured us that the site was safe to use. Our experience on Roomster turned out to be better than we ever could have hoped for. We found an amazing, spacious house to rent a few miles away from the factory and with enough room to spare in the new place wee were able to build our offices there as well. This would not have been possible had we gone through s traditional broker. All in all we are on our way to revolutionizing the world of dog collars and it wouldn't have been possible without Roomster.

I recently got a new job at an accounting firm and was looking online for places to rent in the area but everything was just slightly out of my price range. I had a friend who’s a broker who let me in on her dirty little secret: Roomster. She told me it’s her go-to spot to find things off market that her clients might be interested in. I decided to check it out and I am so glad that she told me about this site it was a godsend! After easily creating a profile I perused some of their listings and in no time I found a steal of a deal. Thank you Roomster!

So here's our Roomster story. My boyfriend and I have a two bedroom apartment and we rent out the second bedroom to help with expenses. Until about a month ago we had this girl Chelsea (we changed her name in this post for anonymity) renting out the room and she seemed pretty normal for the first few months living together. That all changed very quickly. One night my boyfriend and I get home at around 2:00am after hitting the bars with some friends. I guess Chelsea thought we weren't coming home that night for some reason, because we found her and four other people engaged in an orgy in our living room! I mean can you say GROSS! They humping like rabbits all over our nice clean furniture and one of the sexual deviants apparently thought it would be a good idea to use vegetable oil as lube but it ended up resulting in a VERY slippery situation. My boyfriend slipped and split his chin open on the coffee table and we rushed to the ER at 2:30am so he could get stitches! Needless to say at the end of this nightmarish fiasco we had to kick Chelsea out of the apartment. A friend of ours recommended we use Roomster to fill the newly vacant room and I gotta say I'm so happy with how it turned out. Roomster helped us find a great, respectful roommate in less than week and we have had no issues with them. Would highly recommend this site!

I first found out about Roomster this morning. I heard back from 2 potential "roommates" posting rooms on Craigslist who asked that I use their links to create an account on Roomster so I can see pictures of the apartment & continue our communications.

Thinking it was just a similar site to CL, I went ahead and created an account. There, I quickly found I'm only able to look at apartments but unable to contact users without paying for a monthly subscription. Even more frustrating is the results that show up under my search criteria. I typed in New York NY but saw results from all over Harlem, Queens, Brooklyn and beyond. If I wanted to live off the island, I would've chosen those locations.

I feel misled by Roomster's business practices, and would not recommend.

They use fake postings on craiglist and bots to send you spam texts encouraging you to join the site. In the attached screenshot you can see the link they sent me which redirects to roomster.com. Doesn't get much scummier than this.

I just got a job at LAVA records in NYC! My college advisor told me about this great site Roomster that she recommends to all her students looking for places to rent. I found an amazing deal on a room to rent in NYC, cant believe I'm moving to the big apple! So excited!
