The company, Roomster, exhibits a polarized reputation among its users. Positive feedback highlights the platform's user-friendly interface and a variety of affordable listings, with some customers successfully finding suitable rooms. However, significant concerns overshadow these strengths, including deceptive practices regarding message visibility, a lack of genuine leads, and inadequate customer support. Many users express frustration over payment models that feel exploitative, alongside reports of scams and unresponsive service. Overall, while some appreciate the platform's potential, the prevailing sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency and customer care to enhance user trust and satisfaction.

In the two weeks I was signed up for the service, I never received any replies from anyone I messaged. The only messages I received were from obvious scammers. Don't waste your money, a Facebook group is 1000 times more helpful than this
Terms are not clearly stated, as to what one needs to do to see messages. Search, sort very poor user experience.
I don't think I should have to pay to communicate with people
Most people do not answer emails. Many are scams that want a fee to reserve a viewing slot
Tooo expensive and you always have to delete the subscription... Users are not serius and its not worth its money
Forcing me to pay before knowing what the UI looks like is a cheap way of getting money
I only wanted to go bi-weekly, but when I upgraded it indicates that it will charge a full month. Looking at filling before that date.
I saw Roomster available at $7.99 I purchased through Apple Pay.
My bank was immediately ‘hit' for $14.99
The application is faulty and regarding the 24/7 callback via text within 4-5 minutes was untrue.
The application does not show within iPhone Purchases (to enable non recurring charge - which you only learn off after you've made the initial purchase!
Apple being the good and honest folk they are, are refunding me the full $14.99 PLUS opening a fraudulent case. DON'T use ROOMSTER... SCAM!
I've found several potential roommates on Craigslist.com. They then referred me to check their link on roomster.com, but their links do not lead to these particular listings, only to general search pages.
I'm just trying to apply for this apartment and I can't it's annoying
I find it atrocious that you require payment to simply read messages. Scam worthy.
Haven't been able to do anything without paying yet... We'll see how this goes
Ok site except it should indicate on the homepage that you cannot communicate with roommates unless you pay.
Charging for a service that is essentially craigslist, or facebook marketplace is ridiculous. If paying customers are the only way you prove their seriousness, or legality, you should really try to obtain money from advertising when you figure out a free way to authenticate a customer's intent to find a rental, and to avoid scams.
I'm receiving from all over my state and not the one's interested in my area. This the last time I am renewing. Plus, the automated renewal makes you look like frauds as you dont gv options of automatic renewal or one time payment. Get with the times!
I paid over $8 to be able to send and receive messages. After sending multiple messages, I received not one response. I understand that is not the fault of Roomster but then I was charged an additional $25. I paid over $30 for absolutely nothing at all. I asked for a refund for at least my $25 and there was nothing they could do for me.
It $#*!ing sucked that you let me set up the entire listing before you told me it would cost money to list
Prices are too high for such a low amount of access time - 5 days. The free version is not really functional since you can't send or receive messages. I would prefer a lower price with advertisements. Thank you for reviewing my feedback.
Interesting. I had a lot of scam calls after posting my listing onto my cell phone.

Answer: These are untrue statements. We have asked our many satisfied customers to post their positive experiences about Roomster to counteract the negative, and mostly untrue statements posted about us. If you notice that Sitejabber has negative reviews of almost every company doing business in the united states. If it was all true, there would be no business left and everyone would be out of work. People never write good reviews, people love to be negative. Its sad.
Answer: Hi Aminah, Roomster did not post that ad on Craigslist, we did not create that link and there fore we can not offer support for it. This looks to be one of our affiliates, who should not be doing this. We will be removing this person from our affiliate program. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Answer: That makes little to no sense. Undeleted? What does that even mean? N you want to create an account after you deleted it? Go ahead.
