Upcharges are dishonest. You can't use the site for any true end purpose without messaging people, and you can't message people without paying. That's dirty.

Roomster has to check better all the profiles. My last roommate was very different from what he advertised and even told me that he was arrested in NY when he was living with me. Very difficult to live.

CONDITION OF PREMISES: Tenant has not been able to inspect the room, Premises, the fixtures, the grounds and the building as a whole but tenant has been sent a picture, if the room the landlord send to the tenant is difference from what the tenant sees when he/she arrives, the land lord shall refund the deposit and the first month rent to the tenant immediately. If at any time during the term of this Lease, in Tenant's opinion, the conditions change; landlord shall promptly provide the tenant deposit and the rent immediately

Everything is ready as you are able to move in asap but you are to pay your rental fee now so you can get your lease agreement including your keys so there won't be any issue because I'm going for a trip soon and I won't like disturbing you or asking you for a rental fee so j want everything to be sorted out asap.

I don't think I should pay so much for so little service.

Potential tenants are not required to complete their profiles, and most profiles seem more suited for a dating site - not for finding a quality rental or roommate. As a landlord, most contacts from roomster are a waste of my time.

Your subscription options suck. $8 for 5 days? Then +5days you have to pay an additional $8? That's not a deal at all.

It's horrible that I have to pay money to chat with people interested in my listing.

It's hit or miss with the people who actually respond and communicate and the quality isn't always great. But it's access to still find potential roommates so it's helpful in that way. A good one has to fall through eventually!

Deceptive advertising regarding pricing. Says five days for 7.95 but fine print says $24.96 for 30 days

I'm homeless and every penny counts. So 5 dollars may not seem like a lot to you. But for me, it's the whole world. Very greedy, and I'm only getting it because I'm desperate.

I've been using several sites and platforms to look for roommates and this was the first one that paywalls at every turn. I understand the one for ID verification, but also your price for that was noticeably higher than your competitors.

But really, charging to message people? I understand the interactions are happening within your platform, and you would then need to support the web servers to upkeep the service. But this kind of is a level of financial gatekeeping that roommate searching (and reality in general) has a problem with.

Haven't done anything yet. Not able to put more detailed info on the property, went straight to subscription.
