Ring CS is very helpful

So after my fiasco with the Ring Doorbell and Ring Doorbell 2. CS decided we should try a Ring Doorbell Pro. I have been using the Ring Doorbell Pro almost 3 months now, and I must say I am having no issues with it at all. It is by far better than the Ring or Ring 2 doorbells. Stays connected with out issue voltage stays at good levels and I don't miss any rings. In fact I'm using 2 Ring Doorbell Pro's on one transformer, and both are working great.

Ive been dealing with Ring since April of this year. For several months, April to July I was trying to get the original Ring Doorbells to work. They would work. Few weeks, they would stop working, or constantly send black video to the cloud. The stick up cam is not any better. In July I was sent one of the Brand new wired spotlight cams. I thought this was a great device, but well get to that in a minute. When I was having problems with the original Doorbells I was sent a Chime Pro (actually 2). I had to use these between my Router (even though my router is closer) to get a connection, because if your Router is too new or mesh (Google WiFi) the first generation ring Doorbells or stick up cam always have a problem staying connected or recording video that isnt black. After several months of inconsistencies Ring agreed to trade my 3 originals Doorbells for 2 Ring Doorbell 2s and another Spotlight Cam. The spotlight cams stay connected to my Google WiFi Router and bridges as they should. However, after about 3 days of use my new doorbell 2s kept losing connection and uploading black video again. So back to the Chime Pro. Which didnt work either, even though the Chime Pro was about 10 feet from the doorbells I kept getting weak signal warnings. So I pulled out my 7 year old linksys 2.4Ghz Router and set it up as an access point, with its own SSID for my Doorbells. This worked for about 3 weeks until sometime in the middle of the night a firmware update was loaded on the router. Who would have thought a 7 year old router would still be getting updates. Anyway after the uptate my Doorbells were totally useless again. So I removed the router, and put one Chime Pro in my garage, and the other in my foyer so they would be within a few feet from the Doorbells. So far this Setup is working but Im not hopeful it will continue to work. Back to the spotlight cams. At first I thought these were a great product. During the day if a gnat flys by the motion sensor it goes off. However, I noticed my motions were quiet at night. This past week, we had some Halloween decorations stolen from our front yard. There is a Spotlight Cam in the front yard. The crooks got away with some $3 styrofoam graves, and almost stole some expensive projectors. The motion lights on the cam did active but no notification was sent to my phone or chimes and no video recorded. I emailed Ring support about this. I received a reply that stated they are aware of some of their products not detecting motion at night, and they were looking into it. WTH! This is something that could have been brought to my attention during our correspondences, and there were several. I quickly moved this spotlight cam to another area of my home where it will not be as depended on, and put up a Nest Outdoor Cam in its place. So needless to say Im not a satisfied customer. Ring could have a great product, but they need to pay more attention to detail.

Extremely disappointed

I received the Ring doorbell as a gift from my child or I would have returned it long ago. The wifi is weak and if you install it more than 40 feet from your router, plan on buying a wifi extender. The camera resolution is poor and response time so slow it often misses events. The Win10 app has no setup capability so you will have to use another device for that. The motion detector works, too good. It detects vehicles driving by even though I set the range to minimum, creating many false detections. Finally, you will have to buy a subscription after the free month to continue to record video. My advice is to look at other products as this one is not worth the time to install it.

For optimal performance we recommend your router be no more than 25-30 feet from your router however, barriers between the router or distance give the signals more of an opportunity to experience an interference as well. I have the Ring doorbell pro, as well as 2 floodlight cameras.
Every time I get notified about an event, be it motion or a ring at the door, the lag to connect is so long and most often not connecting at all that it makes it useless.
One is left with reviewing the event after the fact - which is obviously to late - especially for a ring at the door.
The product does not work as advertised at all.
It is far from maturity. Stay away and go with a different product instead

Ring driveway camera

Ring driveway camera my ring driveway camera is a very nice new thing when it works I always have to constantly check it weekly especially over the weekend if not I may check it from work on Monday and its off-line. It seems to get thrown off line every week or two and Ive called customer service plenty of times and it shows that is working fine which is it just constantly gets thrown off mine

Your Ring should hold a stable connection to your network. There are a variety of circumstances that can cause your Ring device to lose its connectivity. Temporarily loss of power, a wire in your router setup temporarily comes loose, you change your Wi-Fi network password, or your Ring device is suffering from low power due to a discharged battery. Awful

2 outdoor cams and 1 door bell. Slowly but surely outdoor cams failed. Failed to charge and had awful video quality. Support was useless.

I am left with the doorbell which also has awful video quality. Got an alert someone was at my door to find out that I was no longer on the subscription plan and could no longer see videos. I got absolutely no notice of this.

After outdoor cams failed, I subbed with Nest which has worked beautifully. Cant wait for the Nest doorbell to be out.

Dont buy Ring products.

Connection to live events
February 10, 2018

I have installed 4 devices around my home. I have GB internet and all the best wireless routers etc. I can't ever seem to connect to a live doorbell ring event, a live motion event etc.

I had people trying to break into my property at 4 am not too long ago and couldn't even connect to video and had to wait for the recording to post on the server (which has become the only way to view anything after receiving a notification).

This product sounds awesome in theory, in reality its the biggest piece of $#*! I have ever invested in.

What a Disappointment

If I could give this company 0 starts at this point I would. We purchased the stick up camera about 7-8 months ago then when we called back to order a couple 2-3 months later we were told they were old camera and obsolete. We were told that we could use the solar panel that we had with the new spot cams. And that they would have a bundle packaging. So here it is 3 months later and we need to get cameras that work so we are reaching out to Ring and they tell us that there is no price bundle and our solar panels are not compatible that we purchased from them now they would like us to Spend another $1000. 00 dollars to replace what we already have in hopes that maybe they will work and not be obsolete in 2 months if we needed more CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME TO CHANGE COMPANY'S IF I NEEDED TOO.

I purchased 4 Ring floodlight cameras. The first camera setup went smooth and I was receiving immediate alerts of motion. Floodlights 2,3, and 4 required several call to tech support for a variety of issues. Finally got a tech that knew something! He could see from his end that my cameras didn't receive the latest firmware and that was causing me problems. The company then forced firmware to my cameras. About that time a thunderstorm rolled in and we had to postpone setup (I didn't want to stand on the ladder to keep pushing button to reset camera in a storm). Tech took my phone number and PROMISED to call me back next day so I wouldn't have to re-explain my issues for the umpteenth time. Still haven't received any phone call, but the cameras are working since receiving new firmware. I do feel more secure with them working. I just don't feel I should have had to make so many phone calls and spend multiple hours trying to figure them out.

Bought two floodlights and a recommended chime pro to extend my WiFi. Still does not work as advertised. Now they want me to purchase video capabilities. Nothing mentioned from Hsn. Support can't help. Never removed one from the box and going to box the other two items and ship them back.

You can check by visiting www.bandwidthplace.com on your cell phone, and running a speed test right next to where your Ring Doorbell is installed. We also recommend running a speed test right next to your router, and comparing the two speeds. Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection isn't as strong at the front of the house. Good concept. Gave it six months and endless fine tuning of two cameras and a ring doorbell along with two solar chargers. This system is entirely useless! The lag is so bad that you can never capture anything. Further, the live view never works when you get a notification so you are left with reviewing the video which doesn't show anything as the lag is so bad. What a piece of CRAP! Don't buy these products!

Purchased flood light camera. I have high speed internet. Usually takes 15-20 seconds to even connect with the camera, sometimes not at all, from newest Iphone. Then picture pixels and freezes. I was told by Ring customer service (which is poor) that Century Link is to blame, they lied to her so they are probably lying to me?! Wrong answer. I won't be giving Ring my credit card #

I called in to Ring customer service on an installation issue and was dished out the worst customer service ever.
The company needs to employ people with "people skills" at least the person I talked to was rude and abrasive.

I get multiple false alerts daily since I switched from my iPhone to a Samsung 8. This sound alerts occurs regardless of the setting for silent, they do not activate the doorbell, or register as an "event" in the app. In other words, the app will indicate that the alert never occurred.
Tech support tells me they've never seen this issue before, they have no idea how to fix it, but they'll forward the issue to the "Team". However, they have no idea who the team is, if a forwarded issue has been received, no issue tracking mechanism, no way to forward the Team my personal information or contact, no way for me to contact the team, and no expectation that anyone, at anytime, will do anything about the issue. Oh - they do not provide refunds after 30 days. Only replacements within a year, but a new Ring.com Pro will not change an app issue. RIng.com has no remedy for those issues - even if it is fatal to the doorbell function.

Zero stars if I could

Absolutely awful products. I have super high power wi Fi and these devices constantly drop the connection. Bought their signal boosters and its 2 From the device, still cant keep a signal. The hard wired device keeps running low on battery - WTF?!? The solar charger does zip for another - wasted another $100 on these jokers.

STAY AWAY - DO NOT BUY RING PRODUCTS, PERIOD!

Althought I like the product I ordered a item by mistake and tried to cancel the order 2 minutes later. I called and talked to them, then waited on phone for 12 minutes. The customer service rep said just refuse the order or send it back. You wonder why these things cost so much. It's the stupidity of the company to waste this money as well as my time sending it back. I wonder how long before iget thecredit back on my card

Scam

I have the strongest wifi and the camera still doesn't connect. Save you money. Also, I did not renew my yearly fee and all of a sudden my camera stopped working. What a scam. The company says it must be the camera. Biggest coincidence or bull scam?

I really don't understand how can so many ppl have issues with their rings (pro) and yet they are still in business, my replacement (yes that tells you a lot already) worked for about 4 months, then suddenly stopped working since December 20th 2017, I followed all the steps per their support who of course will blame everything in your home before admitting that the real issue is their device, replaced the power pro cable, unplug the 24VAC adapter recommended by them, reset the breakers what's next? Buy a new house?...
Another issue with their support, I've attached the picture of a multi meter reading the voltage at the ring but they don't even bother looking at it, their answer was "can you get a multi meter to check the voltage..." like really? Now I have to tell you to look at the attachment and wait up to 48 hours to get a response!
If your product is not ready don't sell it, I just feel like I lost $220 because what if they send me another replacement how long will that one last, it sickens and frustrate me.
