The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding product reliability and customer service. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the performance of devices, citing issues such as poor video quality and connectivity problems. Additionally, the customer service experience is notably negative, with many reviewers reporting long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and inadequate support for troubleshooting. While some users appreciate the initial functionality of the products, the recurring themes of frustration and disappointment suggest a pressing need for the company to enhance both product quality and customer service responsiveness to improve overall customer satisfaction.

I really like my Ring doorbell but one day it stopped working on my phone. I had to reinstall it and paid for the video play storage 30 dollars for one year. I wanted to talk to a person about my account to check if it had been a year before I just reinstalled and if I had a credit for the video play.
Called twice on hold for over 20 minutes,
Tried the chat but no one could talk to me for 30 minutes I just do have the time or patients for that sent 2 emails have yet to get a response they need to work on their customer service
I have owned a ring doorbell since June 2018. Right away the promotion came on my app to refer a friend or neighbor and you both get $10 ring credit. I referred over 20 friends, co-workers and neighbors trying to get credits to buy the floodlight for my elderly mother. My credits got up to $140 then magically stopped. I have called customer support over and over trying to get the issue resolved. They keep telling me the same line. "It takes 24 to 48 hrs for credits to show up". Well I've waited the 48hrs and still my credits nor my friends credits have ever shown up. I've called them back only to be told either the person didn't complete the registration, they don't see the person or they see the person but they no longer give back dated credits. I am totally frustrated with RING. Like another customer said, it takes a lot of effort to convince people to download this app onto their phones in the first place and then to be made a lie of about the credit (that they never get) is just to much. I can't believe Shauq endorsed this product. About the actual doorbell. It works sometimes for motion sensing but it never works when a real person rings it. I wont buy another one of these.
Hi Angela,
I am so sorry to hear there's been an issue with your referral credit. I'd be happy to investigate this issue in detail for you once and for all. Please feel free to use me as your direct point of contact by emailing me at [email protected]. I look forward to turning your Ring experience around!

When referring others to their app, you are supposed to receive a $10 referral credit towards any ring item, for each person you refer. I referred 3 different people and it has been a month and I still don't see any credits. I have contacted them three different times and each time I get a different answer. They looked up my account and they can see the exact 3 people I referred yet still they are not trying to give me my credits. One person I talked to even told me that the credit will show up but they have no idea when. Another tried to tell me that I have to already have a device to get those credits which is a total lie! It is frustrating because it isn't that easy to try to talk people into signing up for an account especially when they have no room on their phone or any interest in ring. They did it so I could get my credit which I never even got. I was going to purchase a ring device but after this crappy customer service, I will take my business elsewhere!

So when I first got the ring it was good for the most part it had a five second lag which was tolerable for the most part
After little while the house chime stopped working so I contacted customer service for help they talk to you like they are geniuses and you know nothing youre a moron
In the end they told me keep your ion it and keep your foot on it keep your finger on it but in the end keeping my whole body on it was not returning the house try am back to life after intensive checking weve determined that the ring device is faulty so I went to Home Depot and I purchased a Nother one and I installed it and Wala the ring works
End the original house chime also works without me putting my eye on my finger my toe or any other parts of my body So needless to say the morons at the customer service of the ring have no clue what theyre talking about and we need treat you like one you need to dish it back to them

Purchased 2 video doorbells and installed on 2 different wireless systems. Both had problems within the first month. Spent hours and hours on customer service phone trying to get someone/anyone to give me an idea of what to try beyond all the troubleshooting I had done. Thing is, I bought this product for a church as part of the security and now the entire congregation knows how terrible this customer service is and how unreliable.
Hi Mary E.,

Can the ring alarm system work with a remote? I do not have a smart phone. If so let me know where to get one. Thanks John
Bought this product to add to my security system. As one who travels a lot I am shocked to learn that you can not reset this device when you are away from home and you temporarily loose power or your internet connection. You must stand next to the device and repeat the set up process. Pretty stupid! Why cant you reset from afar? Most buyers of this device have it for when they are not at home. As it stands now, I have a non functioning device until I return home and reset it. Had I known this I would not have bought it. Very Disappointed!
Hi Dave,
I am so sorry to hear about this less than stellar Ring experience. This is by no means the Ring experience that we intended for you to have. I do, however, greatly appreciate all the time and energy that you have taken to share your thoughts with us. I can assure you that your feedback will be shared with the appropriate team for review. At this point, I would like to step in and offer you assistance with resetting your device should you need it. I am available via email at [email protected] to address any concern that you have.

I would give 0 star if I could. My new ring doorbell was installed, hardwired, on 5/31/18.
This is a replacement for another defective doorbell I originally purchased at Costco.
On 6/17/18 I received a notification email from Ring that my doorbell battery level was poor. How could a hardwired battery level drop 80% in less than 3 weeks? Called customer service with so resolution. Charged the battery twice since then, reversed wiring, cleaned contact, turned off live view and all motion zones. 25 days later the battery is completely discharged and no longer connects to wi-fi. Tried to call customer support and they don't even answer. Just a recording to leave email address and phone number and they will call back in 24 hours! Outrageous! I want my $30.00 subscription fee back. All I have is a dumb doorbell that looks like a video doorbell. Time to call Leo Laporte radio show Tech Guy who promotes Ring product.
Hi Michiko,
My apologies for any frustration. The battery in your device may deplete faster if your Ring is capturing a large number of motion events every day however, we would be happy to investigate this further for you. Would you kindly email me at [email protected]? I look forward to ensuring that your Ring device works consistently to your expectations.

I used to like ring but slowly it started to become unreliable to the point of useless. I get alerts when the person is leaving and if someone rang the doorbell good luck trying to get the app open to communicate.
Thank god for Nest Hello
Ring has a habit of blaming your wifi, home, or appliances in the home as you can see in their response, But my new Nest Hello's work flawlessly in the exact same places where my ring pro's used to be
Hi Vaughn,
I am so sorry to hear about this poor Ring experience, this is not the experience that we intended for you to have. The delay is normally attributed to WiFi/bandwidth connection but we'd be happy to further investigate this for you. Additionally, do you have any major appliances between your router and device? Would you kindly reach me at [email protected] today so that we can improve your Ring experience, please?
I would appreciate your time.

So I loved the idea of this for house, and invested $700 to get 3 wireless cameras and some extra stuff... Not one camera worked WITH THEIR repeater in middle from my wireless router (10 between camera and repeater - total of 20 from router) and cameras wouldnt work in a wooden house. Over an hour on line and their people couldnt get it fixed. Insult to injury they make you pay for return shipping when their product is NOT READY for market...
Hi Craig,
Oh no, this is not the Ring experience that we intended for you to have. I bought the Ring video doorbell when they were pretty new and paid $199 for it (and I bought a couple other Ring devices). The doorbell worked fine for the first year while it was under warranty, but as soon as the warranty ran out it stopped connecting to my wifi. After spending literally hours on hold with their customer support, they said it must be defective and I need to buy a new one. I asked for a replacement because i thought they should stand behind their products, but they said the warranty was up so there was nothing they could do. When I asked to speak to a manager they put me on hold and left me there for over 30 minutes. Horrible company and I will never recommend them again.

Very disappointed with the surprise about continuing extra fees. Doorbell doesnt even ring now and without the extra membership fees youre out of luck!
Hi Anthony,
I am so sorry to hear about this less than excellent Ring experience. We do, however, notify our customers about the cloud plan on our website (https://shop.ring.com/pages/protect-plans), in your Ring app during the first free 30-day trial of our cloud plan, as well as in your email about this service. I apologize for any miscommunication but we will work on providing even more transparency to our customers as we can in the future. Additionally, our optional Protect Plans allow you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View. With that being said, your Ring device should continue working consistently to your expectations even after your 30-day trial period ends. Would you please email me directly at [email protected]?
I would appreciate the chance to improve your Ring experience.

I contacted the person who responded to my review. They sent me a new device that is working fine so far. Fingers crossed.
I installed the Ring Pro and it worked fine for a couple of months. We lost power about a month ago and the device will not reconnect to my WiFi despite my following all the listed fix steps. For the past month tech support emailed me possible solutions none of which worked. Then they stopped responding. Now I have a very expensive door bell button
This has to be some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The web site is very slick, and the pre-sales information is very well prepared. The product does not work, and my Wi-Fi extender (that I bought just for this purpose) didn't even get a usable signal from 15 feet away with no obstructions. So, after long chats (and waiting a LONG time to get someone on chat in the first place), I convinced them after several conversations to give me a refund... which never came. Three weeks after they received the product back, there was no refund. I went on chat to find out why, and TWO HOURS of chatting later (after their chat system kicked me out for inactivity while THEY looked up my information), they say a refund was issued, but refused to provide any email documentation stating such. This is absolutely unacceptable. I wish I had come to this site to look at these reviews before I wasted time and money on a product that doesn't work, and which is supported by an incompetent support staff. RUN AWAY from this company! They pretty much stole $500 from me!

Since my review last week, I was contacted by Ring to work with their "Neighborhood Advocate". Within a couple of days they finally said they would send me a new device. I received it today and installed it promptly. As soon as it powered on it immediately started the set-up process. One slight hiccup in the set-up is I guess they are trying to avoid going out of the app to change your wi-fi to the ring wi-fi so the part that is supposed to automatically join the "ring network" did not work properly. I did it the 'old fashioned' way and it worked. Within minutes I received an e-mail from customer support, stating that they noticed the new device was on-line and if I had any questions. So persistence paid off however, it was a very long and arduous process.
It took 13 e-mails for them to finally tell me that they were not going to replace their faulty ring pro.At one point I was asked if I could send them a picture of the original box! Their condescending e-mails remained consistent with phrases such as "I am so sorry for your experience with the Ring product! I understand how it is important to have a working device, and I would be frustrated as well in this situation! I do apologize for all inconveniences, but due to our policy, we can not replace the device"
I have nothing good to say about this product. My phone will not connect. Dark screen on live feed. You have been warned.

I own the floodlight camera ( wired) and two wireless cameras. I have two batteries in each of the wireless cameras. The battery housing box is poor design. It hinges from one side with a push button to open battery compartment. When you open battery box it is difficult to get it to snap shut properly. Also the lithium batteries seem to drain fast with about one month for one battery in battery compartment. Another strange thing is when I took both batteries out of housing to charge. The " device health" was showing " online" and the battery % charged was still displayed even though batteries were both removed?

I bought my ring flood light 11/2017 and supposed have a 1 year warranty but the support dept doesn't care to return emails... Even if they would i am sure they wouldn't honor their warranty. If you want real customer service and people who standby their product go to Kuna.com...

Where do I begin - bought Ring doorbell last November 2017.
Suddenly, a few weeks ago, Ring stopped recording at night... as soon as sun goes down, Ring goes black and does not activate until sunlight following morning. We are on a VERY busy street corner, upwards of 40 motion detections during daylight, zero security coverage at night now!
Called Ring three times. Each time, on hold upwards of 30 minutes, had to hang up each time...
Researched on Reddit and saw many other Ring owners have no night vision, either. Its a known Ring defect. A Ring rep posted her email on the Reddit thread, so I emailed her and she answered! I thought there was hope for us yet. Well, she told me to uninstall unit, reversed polarity of wires, test Ring terminals. Did all that. No night vision!
Contacted her again and she escalated our problem to her technical department, sent me a link to make an appointment online for a personal call with Ring tech. I go to book appointment and the earliest spot available was JULY 11th! What?!
At the time of setting appointment, July 11 was two WEEKS out. I emailed Ring rep back and said, two week wait for tech help and no help from Amazon (asked for replacement, they told me no...), we have no night coverage (when crimes happen!). Told Ring lady, we are removing it and going with another company.
Garbage product, crappy customer service experience and lousy company that knows they have a malfunctioning product!
Never again. Do not buy! God forbid your Ring breaks, you are out money and get zero help.

Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
Ring Video Doorbells let you answer the door from anywhere using your iOS or Android smartphone. Protect your home with security cameras from Ring.
