I made a reservation, thinking I was on the hotel website. The charge was to reservations.com and they did charge me the $14.99 as everyone is saying. I called the hotel and the hotel did have a record of my reservation and did receive full payment. So in my case I'm out the $14.99 but nothing more. I certainly will not deal with this company again.
Many, if not most reputable sites place drop down boxes for charges in ones country. Reservations.com is not one of them, so making millions I'd imagine, charging U.S. funds and extra fees to unsuspecting Canadian customers. Phone your credit card company and dispute the charge. Usually refunded immediately. Negative 10 stars for customer service and deceptive practices.
I recently received an email from Reservations.com telling me that the company will provide me with a full refund (after four months and more than five phone calls!) to restore faith in their company. But that's not all. The company has also offered me $100 to remove my original review! If anyone receives an email from this company attempting to "buy you off," please don't take the bait. I understand $100 can come in very handy these days, but people should know the truth about this company. I will not respond to the email, and I have already contacted my credit card company, which has made me whole. The company refused to refund a $15 fee that was not made explicit. I cancelled my reservation, and reservations.com promised to refund the fee but never did. I called my credit card company and reported the fraud. Any charge to your credit card you did not authorize is fraud if you thought you were making your booking with the actual hotel. Don't let this company bribe you!
Made two reservations which I thought were directly with the hotel I wanted. Turns out it was through reservations.com. Cancelled the reservations immediately and their confirmation email for the cancellations stated there were to be no cancellation fees. Two charges of $21.77 showed up on my credit card statement! They are not responding to my emails. Bunch of cybercrooks in my opinion. Don't know what to do next to get my money back. Anyone with any suggestions on how to get reimbursed? Have since contacted my credit card company and they reversed these fraudulent charges. Unfortunately I had to destroy my existing card and was issued a new one. This was to ensure that this company didn't try to charge anything else to my old number.
Like everyone else, I booked thinking they were the site for my hotel and got slammed with an extra fee. Upon getting the confirmation I was slapped with a NO REFUND... if I cancelled at anytime I would be charged the whole fee... even though I was making the reservation months in advance. Beware of extensions. If it says reservations.com, get away fast!
I ended up at this website, thinking I was on the hotel website. Got extra charges and rates shown are in US dollars with no indication that they are not in CDN for a Cdn hotel. Where are these crooks located and who runs the show? Are they using their ill gotten gains to fund overseas activities?
Reservations.com is full of crooks an no good practice. I booked a trip via phone call to verify I could cancel my reservation and recieve my refund if my best friend past away before I made it. Unfortunately he did pass, on Christmas eve, two months prior to my reservation. Naturally I cancelld my plans to go to his wedding. Come to find out none of my money was refunded. I called and they informed me they would look into it. They told me they would not refund the money after being on hold for twenty minutes. They explained it was company policy that no refund be given, and if I wanted any sort of refund I would have to call the hotel thru which THEY booked the room. Key West Inn Fairhope, Alabama also is a bunch of crooks. They said they took their share and would issue no such refund, and promptly sent us back to reservations.com. They continue to be less then helpful or any sort of empathy towards my situation! Reservations.com has lost any trust or future business from me my family and anyone who has heard my story.
I made an attempt to book a room in Salt Lake City using the Reservatiions. Com link on Google. I entered the required data and sent the request. A colored pop-up screen appeared that said that there was an error and the transaction could not be completed. I backed up, entered the data again and sent the request. The same screen appeared that no reservation was made. I was stupid enough to try this again... DUH... and got the same screen that no reservation had been made. I gave up on this site and completed my reservation on another site. When I got to the hotel in Salt Lake City, I discovered that I had three additional reservations for the same room from Reservations. Com. On the first call to the Reservations.com help phone to correct this, I was told that I needed to call back after 0900 the next day since that is when "Frank" would be in his office?. The second call after 0900 the next day had me talking with "Joey". Joey informed me that the charges had already been made on my credit card and NOTHING could be done. My credit card company then advised me to call again and talk to a supervisor. This I did, and talked with Victoria after a lengthy explaination to Ray. Victoria was helpful and promised that this would be resolved in 8 to 10 working days. So, to this point, all of the charges have NOT been credited back to my credit card account. Three credits were issued but three others for $14.99 have not been erased. I advise you to not try to use Reservatioons. Com unless you want to spend a bunch of time trying to get any problems resolved. I was told also that they are affiliated with Expedia.com, so beware.
I booked a room at the Waterfront hotel in Windsor for two nights 285.00 Canadian and they charged me 410.00 American exchange on the hotel charge. I'm in Canada, making a long story short, I had to cancel and rebook same hotel. Its been two weeks and no refund onto my visa yet - small claims court is the next step, if that refund is not returned shortly.
Never/Ever use this company its part of Expedia!. Told everyone I know about this and saved all the paperwork for the lawsuit. American companies still thinking that Canadians are stupid - this company is doomed to fail. Tell all your friends and contacts to avoid them..
This company Reservations.com pops up on Canadian sites without identifying itself. I was on a Hampton Inn and Suites site in Barrie. Ont. Canada and was in the process of booking a room for 135.00 Cdn when a pop up with the hotel name and 106.00 per nt for 2 queen beds exactly as I needed. Asked reservation clerk if that is possible she said yes but they said I would have to book online to get that deal. In the end it cost 367.00Canadian plus $21 Cdn booking fee for two nights. This was considerably above the pop up rate of $106 per nt with no mention of a booking fee and which did not mention US or Canadian funds. They are an Expedia affiliate because it was Expedia who paid Hampton Inn and Suites 120.08 Cdn per nt. I immediately contacted my Visa fraud Dept, The Restitution Officer told me she only books direct because she gets many calls like mine and the rest of you a day. This goes for Airline flights, Hockey, Baseball, Basketball and Concerts tickets. Book Direct. My Visa refunded me the difference as an act of goodwill as a one time thing.
I booked a room at the virgin river casino in nevada online. They charged 15.00 more for the room than what we agreed on and then they went and charged another 14.99 more booking fee that they never mentioned to us. They are thiefs. Dont deal with them. Kdw.
Same as everyone else - charge a 14.99 fee and I can't find anywhere in terms that this is stated - disputing through my bank. Horrible practice!
Recently, I reserved a hotel room online and paid the full amount of the room charge. Today, I noticed a $14.99 charge on my bank account from www.reservations.com. I have contacted my bank and will be disputing this charge. I checked the website where I completed the reservation, and found no such fee listed.
No where on the reservation does it show a $14.99 booking fee. They make you think you are booking directly with the hotel which you are not. Will not use again.
Hidden fee of 14.99 in US dollars. I thought I was booking with hotel directly as well. Advertises lower price then Expedia or Booking.com, but is much higher! I will NEVER use this site again! Very upset!
I too experienced an additional charge of $14.99 that is hidden in the acceptance small print. This is very misleading! When I called the person told me if I would have called the 800 number instead of an online booking the charge would not have been applied. Terrible. Will not use them again.
I clicked on a google ad thinking I was booking with a hotel directly. After going through the booking process, I noticed a $14,99 difference in what was on the email receipt and what was on the booking summary page. After some research, I found that they charge a 'booking' fee that is hidden in the fine print about their no fee changes and cancellations. It was definitely not disclosed. I called, stayed on hold for about 30 minutes and was then promised a refund. The next day I got an email saying my refund was denied. Don't repeat my mistake... avoid this questionable company.
Thought I was on the hotel site, as many others did. And maybe I was and it was somehow redirected to them. Paying 179.00 for a 139$ room. Of course no refund. Disputing with my bank and you should too.
Hidden prices, inaccurate receipts (the price charged does not equal the price stated on the receipt... is this even legal?!?), hidden currency, a purposefully deceitful website (prices are not quoted accurately, currency is not clearly stated), and nonexistent customer service. This is a fraudulent website that should be shut down (I cancelled my credit card after using it on their site).
For all you Canadians out there, the website advertises Canadian hotels however the prices are listed in USD (this is not clearly stated on the website)... and there ARE hidden fees. BEWARE!
Also, the Reservations.com website adds the name of the hotel you're searching for in google to the front of their website domain. For example, if you search for 'Best Western', their website will appear as 'bestwestern.reservations.com'. Deceitful and sneaky... don't get caught in the same trap I did. Book direct or with a legitimate website and always verify your currency.
Booked a hotel in canada for halifax, from moncton and got charged in US funds, what the F%$k beware before you book you think you are acually booking direct from the quality inn hotel in halifax, but reservations. Com takes your money in us funds.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
