We reserved a hotel in Plattsburgh with reservation desk between the 6th and 9 October 2023. Upon arrival after a 2 Hour Drive, the hotel says that they do not have a reservation, The customer service rep at reservation desk mentioned they need to charge us a cancellation fee as we are not honouring the cancellation policy. Seems like a big fraud; I would not recommend this site. To avoid scams like this it's best to call the hotel directly.

The end cost of this booking was alot higher than advertised. FEES, FEES, FEES. Once I noticed how much I was paying I had passed the cancelation period. After finding out I would be charged the full, over priced rate, there was no way to reinstate the booking.

I called to see what my options were and I got a person that just repeated policies and was no help at all.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

Reservationdesk.com is the worst
I have had problems with our reservation & customer service more than any other site I have ever used.
When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was on hold 1/2 hour the first time. The second time I was told they needed a week to resolve any issues. Tried to upload my receipt and the side does not take adobe. GET IN THE 21ST CENTURY FELLA'S

I made a reservation and cancelled within 24 hours (my 18 month old daughter is sick). I misread the cancellation policy as the $15.99 would not be refunded. Immediately, I realized my mistake and called within 10 minutes of pressing the button. I spent 30 minutes on hold and when I finally was "helped" I received no empathy, they just kept reading me the policy over and over. I asked to take back the hotel because I knew other people that could use it, and just received another reading of the cancellation policy. I had literally pressed the button 10 minutes ago (well 40 minutes ago after my 30 minute wait) they surely still had that room open (central IL isn't really hopping), I would never have pressed it if I realized I would not be given a refund, obviously.

Honestly, they weren't horribly rude, they were annoyed which I could understand, but with an in person contact group I feel like there should be something more in person about it. I realized my mistake and called immediately and there was nothing they could do? There should really be a window open for this, maybe in the $15.99 service I paid for. I called "another" number that said it reviewed exceptions, but it took me to the same menu and same people, so not sure what that number is for. I'm just astounded how unwilling they were to try and work with me for a simple mistake made so recently on a booking made not 24 hours ago.

I wrote an email to their email listed as well, but was told that goes to the same people as well. However, I will be sure to change this review if they do happen to respond any differently then reciting the cancellation policy that I had already agreed I misunderstood and was just looking for a little human interaction to perhaps rectify the 10 second human error that occurred, when I pressed an online button and wanted to retract immediately.

Absolute worst experience of my life. Completely scammed out of $200 and the customer service is awful. To be honest, I didn't even realize I booked through this company; I thought I booked through the
Hotel directly. It wasn't until I called the hotel that I realized how much I was overcharged and that my booking was made through a third party. That's how vindictive they are. BEWARE!

Scammers and liars

I was promised a long overdue refund for the wrong reservation that was done ( the dates are correct,but accommodation is wrong) I had correspondence where the escalation department person apologized and asked for my address so they can send a refund check for one part of transaction,still nothing two weeks later. I was about to file a complaint with the attorney general of Utah, now I am certainly going to.

Dishonest and fraudulent

The representative didn't book the accommodation that I specifically asked for, despite my telling her multiple times and making sure that's what I needed,called to cancel and getting a run around,is this a scam?I only found out when I checked with the hotel,and I reserved the accommodation that I needed,and they told me to cancel the one that your company booked, and i tried to do so, but you are giving me a difficult time, and saying it takes up to 10 business days? It was your representatives fault,I booked with the hotel directly same day,for the same date, it's not because I changed my mind, so you need to give me my money back,and I wasn't told that you charge $15.99 service fee? No way, as I said I need you to cancel this reservation and return everything to the last penny before I reported you for fraud that you are. Outrageous!

This company is a scam

I booked a room through Reservation Desk unknowingly! Upon entering the room at the hotel that evening I was not able to stay due to a smell causing an asthma attack. The hotel saw my distress and immediately refunded a deposit and also cancelled my reservation. I have called numerous times to get a refund from RD. Now they don't recognize the phone I called from for the reservation nor the itinerary number they provided! No one returns a call! I lost $226!
You don't find out that the booking is non-refundable until you get your email receipt!

Reservation fraud

We inadvertently clicked on this link when trying to reserve a Hilton hotel near the medical center. The website price was 130$/nite plus taxes. Reservationdesk.com,even when asked if this was the hotel confirmed they were verballly. Reservationdesk.com charged my acct $531. For 2 nights mid week...SCAM...beware!

We wanted to go to Hot Springs to stay two days. I googled the Hotel Hale phone number and website and a reservation desk number came up. I called the number and the lady proceeded to act like she was actually at the hotel desk. I explained to her I did not want to go through a booking site I wanted to go through the actual hotel. She proceeded to act like she was a hotel representative. I booked two nights and she told me all about how wonderful the hotel was. I paid for two nights and it was more expensive that I wanted but decided to book. It should of been $600 which is very expensive but I agreed. Within 10 minutes my card was charged $938.00 for two nights. I called and they said it was booking fees and taxes. I called Hotel Hale and finally got through to the owner. She explained this had been a problem recently where they lost there number as the main Reservation desk. Hotel Hale has done done wrong they were wonderful. I called them and explained to them what happened and she said they cannot help me due to the Reservation desk being the ones who booked me. Then she explained to me that there air conditioning was out until Friday and they were offering refunds due to the heat and having the close the restaurant. I explained to the so called Reservation desk that the hotel was refunding there clients due to no air conditioning. I asked to be transferred to another hotel and they said they could not do it. They refused to book us somewhere else which they have the capability to do. They did not care and just wanted to keep my money. They had no compassion and were rude. I highly suggest you never use THE RESERVATION DESK, They are a fraud and have been turned in to the Better business bureau.

I called and requested a hotel in Trenton. I was provided a hotel saying an early check-in of 12pm would be allowed. I asked on multiple instances if he (Gabriel) was certain I'd be able to get me an early check-in and he said he called the hotel management and they said it would definitely be possible. However, when I got to the hotel, they said no note was made and that it would not be possible. I was very frustrated since I confirmed multiple times if it would be possible. On top of that, a tax rate of almost 40% was applied, on top of a service fee of $16. Both of which I was not notified. Please do a better job and communicate with those who call to book. I understand you work on commission, but no need to deceive those who call just so you can make a sale. Please be more considerate. I will NEVER make a booking through these agents again!

Scam

Total non disclosure of information. Was not told that my card was being charged immediately nor was I told any cancellation policy. I booked Aug 21 and paid 400.00 for 1 night but on Aug 22 the same room was listed for 263.00 I called to ask why and to get reimbursed the difference and I was told NO sorry, you paid in full so no refund or reimbursement for the difference. This is a complete SCAM company and DONT BOOK through them!

MONEY MINING SCAM COMPANY

It wasn't until my spouse saw the charges on his CC card that i realized I had been scammed by additional fees of $160 on a one night room charge - in addition to taxes and other fees! This kind of fraudulent activity by scam companies has to be addressed and put an end to. Innocent people getting snagged by being distracted or tired and not checking carefully and then whoops, sorry there's a 334$ cancellation fee. - that's more than the entire room rate and taxes. I'm so sick of these type of fraudulent companies preying on unwitting people. Its truly disgusting.

Very disappointed

I booked a 4 night stay and was very specific on what I wanted and it wasn't fully booked the same by the time I got to the hotel. Spent all weekend talking or emailing with you and nothing was solved options that was given did not help me at all.I was very upset with and will never book through this company again

Scam

Don't trust this company. I can't believe they haven't been out out of business yet. They charge you double the actual hotel charges and you will not be able to make any changes to you room at all whatsoever. Not dates, not from one king to two queens and they customer service is horrible. They are so rude and give off the feeling that you are being scammed. I will never book with them again.

Scam refund policy

I called to book a room thinking I was talking to an operator associated with the hotel. I couldn't book without talking to the other members of our party and ended the call. Within a minute the operator called me back assuring me the room is refundable. He read some fine print quickly and I agree with out paying much attention as I was driving.
There is a non refundable $15.99 charge. I canceled the room within 4 hours of booking it. When I called to complain I was essentially told "he read the fine print" sorry but not sorry.
Do not use this company. Go on expedia.com or hotels.com and save the$15.99 fee.
They have lost a customer for life over $15.99

Reservationdesk.com/Cliptripz.com intercepted my Drury Hotel St louis Chesterfield reservation online and and the representative pretended to be the Drury Hotel reservations department. He even said the points for my stay would go on my card. He was an imposter. The charge was supposed to be $145 plus tax and ended up $216.94 with a service charge of $15.99 included that I was not told about. They could not tell me because that would give away the fact that I was talking to a scam artist and not actually dealing with the hotel. The person I talked to was apparently with Cliptripz but the receipt came from their apparent companion in the deceitful activity reservationdesk.com whose name is on the bill. I knew something was fishy when I checked out and the front desk clerk said the reservation was made through Priceline? And I would not get points for my stay! What kind of organizations are these?

Reservation Desk refused to refund us for a reservation made 2 months in advance. The event my husband planned to attend was canceled about a week after the reservation was made. We called to speak with a rep, hoping that they would accommodate us. Expensive lesson learned. Always call the hotel directly, not a reservation service. This is a total scam. Who gets the money that we paid and they refused to return?
