Bad Business

Where to begin? Poor communication. Poor billing. Over billing. Hidden fees.
I have been wondering why we haven't been getting picked up. We thought we were caught up in monthly payments. Found that we have 3 disconnect fees of $35 each. But why wasn't that included in the last 3 times we paid our bill in full? And on my current bill one of the $35 fees isn't included in the break down... I had to go searching for the "discrepancy". It's so frustrating. We are ending our contract TODAY.

For the month of January my trash was picked up on the 17th. I received a phone call today to informed me that my trash will NOT be picked up tomorrow, it will be picked up on my scheduled day next week (the 28th). After speaking with 2 different people, I was informed I would receive a credit for 1 week missed. Based on their "contingency plan" I'll only miss 1 week this whole month! Definitely do NOT recommend this trash company!

Trash missed

I started with Republic June of 2021 and it has been the worse service I have ever gotten. They miss your pick up and you call in they tell you it will be picked up the next day then the next day then the next and nobody ever shows up at all. Managers never call you at all, I believe the management at this company are useless all the way around and they do not care about their customers at all. I would never suggest Republic to anyone at all.

Do not use this company

I am surprised this company is still in business. They overcharge for services that can be gotten elsewhere 85% cheaper. They admittedly have overcharged my company on multiple occasions and I have spent hours over the years questioning bills, explaining issues and getting adjustments. They also will renew your "3 yr" contract with them without saying a word to you so be sure to set reminders on cancellation procedures and timelines. Thank GOD our County passed an ordinance saying we can drop all trash contracts at the end of this month so I can finally be done with this utter nightmare.

Trash man: " John Egan " decided to be extremely rude and give additude ontop of LYING about the previous trash pickup. Not only was I threatened and insulted in the end process, he attempted to bring up my work ethic without knowing anything about me, with my mother presented he was disrespectful as hell considering my mother is partially blind. The list goes on, gotta love republic trash services... what a joke. While remaining as calm as possible and attempting to diffuse the situation in the end we were STILL stuck with trash, being forced to wait for next week even though said boxes are FILLED with trash.

Phil the account representative with Republic services was very helpful and easy to work with. He took the time to review my account and assisted me a better plan. Republic has always provided great service on time weekly pickups.

A company full of liars

I have been with them for over 10 years in the last 4 months they missed seven pickups. I have two cans. I have called them over 15 times. I have emailed them over 6 or 7 times. I actually had a manager call me a month ago saying they would take care of it and let me dump my hundred plus bags at their transfer station 2 miles from my home. All of a sudden he didn't take my calls anymore. I paid a little garbage collection company to take my debris and it cost me $45. I've asked them to credit me for one month and they said OG sorry we can't do it. After talking to someone finally today after being on hold over 21 minutes I told them to come get their garbage cans I will do like the other 35 out of 70 people on this county Island and go to waste management. This company is a joke

I have my trash dumped every other week... I paid in December for January. It was delayed from Tuesday to Wednesday, the truck was here this morning doing my neighbors. My trash was not dumped... I am thinking about finding a new company. Jeez republic how hard is it to dump all the trash on a street... the driver sat in front of my house 30 minutes, so I'm sure it was dumped... NOPE! 8 YEARS IM OVER IT.

Republic Services has missed so many trash collection dates! Our trash keeps piling up at our house due to them not collecting it. They have missed 3 out of the last 4 weeks and I can't even count how many before that. They are not reliable at all. We called them and they will only issue a credit to your account if you complain. If you don't say anything to them they will charge you as normal even though they are not providing the service to you. We are switching to a new trash collection company due to such poor service!

I have not had a pickup in 4 weeks! I've called and reported numerous times being promised for next pickup and they have not showed! Very disappointed in their services and would not recommend this company to anyone! I've had ongoing issues with missed pickup since being a customer with them! As you can see my 4 weeks of missed pickups!

Horrible

4 months and still no satisfaction for getting credit for 2 cancelled checks for payments and I still get phone calls and bills for non payment and my can was taken away.

I called and cancelled the service upon sale of my house. Then I got an invoice, paid the invoice and they assured me the service was cancelled. 30 days later I got another invoice and once again was assured the service was cancelled and the final invoice would be 0. Well after a couple of months just received another invoice. Called and was transferred twice with many apologies but no one has helped me and was told that the people helping me before had no authority to cancel my service. I guess when an agent of a company tells me they can do something I'm suppose to question their credentials. I have never been so frustrated with a business and feel like I'm caught in a never ending loop. They have made it my responsibility to figure out their system and find the right person to cancel my account. I've called customer service who transfer me to Sales, then back to customer service and back to sales. Now I know why their rating is so bad with the BBB.

Terrible business

They continually raise their rates. I started out in the double digits and was up to triple digits. I cancelled my service, but they are planning on charging me to the end of month because they require 30 day notice. This company cheats it's customers.

They continue to raise prices but miss pickups monthly. Over the past 2 months they have missed 4 weeks. I have now hired a new company for this service and they will not come get their dumpster. I have called them 3 times each time being told "someone will contact you" since the personnel answering the phones cannot cancel the service. No call back. This is the worst service from any company I have ever dealt with. If you have any choice at all do not do business with this company.

If looking for trash service save yourself a lot of frustration and move on to a different waste provider. It is no big deal to them to not pick up your trash on the day they chose. They set up the routes. They skip the day they are supposed to pick up and do not come back to get your trash until the following week. If you call nobody can help you or give you any information. They are bad customer service.

I called them to schedule a bulky pickup for the following Monday. They didn't show up. I Called them on Tuesday and they said the pickup would be pick up that day or Wednesday for sure. They didn't show up. I called them on Wednesday and they said they would pick up on Friday and that I would receive a confirming phone call on Thursday. Neither happened. All this happened after these hard workers (!) had been on strike a few weeks ago and received a nice, new contract. Unless Republic has a contract with your city, avoid it at all cost.

Missing pickups since I start with them. Every week is a different excuse. And they still charging you as regular pickup schedule. And always is a voice mail, never I can get hold with someone over phone.

I have had problems with Republic in the past and I still do today! My trash has been on the curb since Mon. It is now Wed night and I really do not see them coming on Thurs. I realize the snow "was" a factor. If I could get to work today, there is NO reason they could not pick up the trash! The bill for this residence will reflect a no pickup when it is paid! Unaceptable! We are looking into switching to another company as these people are NOT reliable!

This company really doesnt try to pickup up on time. Not sure what the issue is. I have a feeling they dont pay enough and its hard to keep good people. This is usually the case of a poorly managed company from the top. Avoid this company if you can. We are waiting for our contract to expire to switch to another company
