I have had more problems with this company than any company I've ever dealt with. They charged me for containers I didn't owe for because I hadn't cancelled service. Then when I did move I had to keep calling for them to pick up containers. They finally did a week later than scheduled. Now today I received an invoice charging me for the containers they picked up. Now I have to wait 48 hours and call back? Horrible company to deal with. They have no idea what they're doing.
Petra B and others at Republic Services have always been helpful and I truly appreciate what they do to help... even when things going wrong were my fault (like forgetting to put trash out on time) they were still there to come back and empty for me. I appreciate their customer service!
I cancelled my service with republic in February of 2022. Every year they would try to double my rate so got tired of negotiating. They charged me for the whole month as cannot cancel mid month. I have now received an invoice of almost $100 for them picking up my two containers which includes an environmental fee of $32. I called customer service and they said this is a legitimate charge. Told them it was never in my contract and they can sue me for it. I will never use them again for anything. I would recommend that no one else uses them. Hopefully this is helpful. I am going to report them to the better business bureau.
I used republic for several years, the drivers are great, nothing to complain about there. The rest unfortunately is not so great. They verbally quoted a price over the phone then did not honor it, I got an annual rate so I was stuck paying another invoice and doing another year. Prior to the end of the service period, I asked for an annual quote, they are excessively higher than another so I cancelled their services three weeks prior to the end of my current cycle. Now the fun begins, I was told they can pick up the cans or I can drop them off, no mention of a charge to pick them up. Turns out they want to bill me $30 per can to pick up and service fees, two cans totaling $129. I could have and would have dropped them off had I been informed of these excessive fees. Now, after four attempts to speak with a manager, I am getting emails from collections for the $129 (30 per can and fees, ridiculous charges). As for the services, they are very good at telling you they will be late on a scheduled pick up, happens often on either trash or recycle, and your cans will sit out for the day or occasionally the next day. My new provider has not been late or missed. Republic is often late and missed.
This company is far the worst. They tell you they are going to provide you the services that you requested. Overall your trash is not emptied nor any services to your trash can is not serviced. They send you a bill for services you never received. So we canceled the services. They told me my services were canceled in which they never canceled it. They like to hear their selves. Talk. If you want a good trash company, this company is not it.
Again they didn't pick out trash up with several others in town. Tired to call last night, no one to answer the phone and no way to leave a message. Called this morning, response was we will try to pick it up. Hmmm.
SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE
Not only is this company based on lies, it steals from the middle class and keep the rich RICH. Your bill constantly is raised without notice and many times it happens in areas where folk go from pay check to pay check or is on one monthly income. The folk driving golf carts pay 50 dollars quartly while othets pay as high as 300. Working here was hell. If you dont mind the lies you tell and the karma behind it work for Republic Services. Oh yeah they change names too so beware of the wolves amongst use. My choice to leave was the best decision I ever made. Dont work for them or get any services. I would burn trash or illegally dump before they get my money.
Bottom Line, I should have read online reviews instead of listening to my wife before we acquired services from Republic Services for our store in Celina Ohio.

They won't let you pay online to keep track of records. Their billing system is out of whack. They are real thieves disguised as civil professionals. I hope this company goes bankrupt. They also have the dumbest sales associates EVER! It's like they are reading a script to you every time you call them or try to explain your situation. I hope the powers at be would do something about these thieves. They will rob you any chance they get.
Beware of Republic services bad business practices. They call and tell you you are behind but your not. Payments mysteriously are not logged to your account. Contracts are renewed even though you have nothing to do with the renewal, signature or knowledge of not required. They tell you what you want to hear but never follow up. Save some money, you pay for Republic who contracts out for other companies to pick up you trash.
We have to have them in collinsville il. I called the city twice now. We have had 4 missed pickups in the last 12 months and bill is paid early every time. They are horrible. Made me wait 5 days and trash is demolished by animals and spread all over yard.
Republic services, has a money making little scam going. They require you to pay in advance for services. I pay for once a week trash container pickup, that is supposed to be every Monday. About every 4th week when I go down to retrieve my container Monday night, I find it has not been emptied. It is to late to call their customer service, but when I do call on Tuesday morning, I am read the same script, "I will schedule it for Wednesday". Trash is not picked up on Wednesday. So on my call on Thursday the script changes to "I will escalate this to division" of course the pickup never happens. When I call back Friday, I am told my regular scheduled day is Monday (which I already know) and that is when my stinking garbage will be picked up. They have followed this exact same pattern 4 times in the last 5 months.
They provide very poor service. MIssed pickups with no recourse. Price is insanely high, cans break all the time - it's very easy to find local companies with much much lower prices.
As a final kick in the teeth, these parasites charge you a $90 pickup fee to pick up their cans when you cancel service that I did *not* agree to.
Unfortunately, I will have to pay these blood sucking jackals because they will trash my credit if I don't.

I started their services Dec 7,2021. I had to call them every week for them to pick up my trash. On Jan 21st, they picked up my can & told me my service had been discontinued because they were not serving my area anymore. They did not give me notice even tho I was paid through March. I've called them twice about receiving my credit of $60.55 which was supposed to be received within 30 days of discontinuation. I just keep getting the run around from them. Very disappointed with this company
They don't even mention these fees... when you leave service (I moved) they quietly billed me $100 to pick up my two barrels. I was gone from my old address for 3 months before this bill showed up. This company is terrible and the only thing they are really good at is billing. Try dealing with them when they don't pick up your garbage... huh, what? Good ridance Republic. If I could give them a negative star I would without hesitation.
I've reached out to make a complaint against the trash pick up driver. Two times have I had to go outside and pick up trash because the driver dropped it in the middle of the street. They promise to send driver back out but he flew down my street 2 times without stopping to get my trash. Instead, he took a picture and told them I added a bag of trash so he didn't pick it up. Like huh! Really?! Then you call and the ladies over the phone pretend to care and the follow ups never happens. I will be switching as soon as my billing cycle is up.
I live in another hemisphere but my card was charged for service I didn't know of by this scam company. Luckily, I never turned on online shopping option so my money is still intact. I don't know how you get my card number but go to hell!
If it were possible to give this company a 0 or -5 I would do so. They were so bad we can canceled out service because they would NOT pick up our garbage even though we had it out the night before. They count not even get that right. It took multiple calls to get that done but we finally got the service cancelled. Getting them to pick up the trash and recycling cans however has been an ongoing journey from hell. No one will respond or they say they are escalating to a supervisor and still nothing happens. So far we have called six times, scheduled pickup and put the cans out and had no one show up only to have to drag them back up to the house again. We now have another date set for pickup. If they don't show up this time, I'm driving these things to Scottsdale and dumping them in the lobby of their corporate office.
Do NOT use this company. They are absolutely the worse on all levels.
Republic Services misses picking up trash or recycling. Once they dumped recycling in with other trash.
Horrible service. Customer service team has zero power to actually help. The garbage men never pick up the trash! First I was told my pick up is on Wednesdays when Wednesday pick up never came I was told it was on Saturdays when Saturday pick up never came I was told it was Monday or Tuesday when Monday or Tuesday never came I was told Friday. The truth is is they come when they feel like it. The average is once every three weeks and only if you call six times. I have complained to five different customer service representatives. Nothing changes. Use anyone else. Don't use republic services.
Answer: Only company that offered recycling in our area but obviously an over priced scam since both bins were emptied into same truck.
