Don't use this site. Customer service was the worst I have ever dealt with with any company. I feel like I was just robbed.

Worst car rental company I have ever dealt with.
Paid upfront in full when I was going.to pick up the car the wanted me to pay more than twice more in "additional insurance' and. Refused me to get.the car I paid for in advance.

Tried to call the number.to the on booking conformination. Nobody ever answered.

I recommend to stay away from them and use a more reputable and honest company.

I might in fact sue them once back in the US

Zero customer service
March 27, 2021

Book online specifically because they gave option to return vehicle at another destination. After doing the transaction return destination changed to the same as pick up destination. Twenty calls to their customer service - not one call answered. I send an email with no response. Pathetic service.

Misleading informaton
March 24, 2021

Scam alert! Reserved a car to be picked up and returned at an airport, was given a price and yet when I got to the said airport to pick up the car, was told vehicle was at a location over 20 miles away and it was my responsibility to get there to pick it up. Cost to actually get the vehicle AT the airport would've been over 3x as much. Was TOTALLY mislead.

If I could give negative reviews I would
February 13, 2021

Standing in line now! We paid extra for an SUV when booking and the guy tells us they don't have one, only a car and he won't refund the difference. Then tells us they don't provide insurance nor accept anyone else's insurance that we must pay $2800 as a deposit! This place is a joke! I tried taking the negative reviews with a grain of sand! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!

Charged twice
February 4, 2021

I booked a car, then clicked change booking. I only wanted to change the location. Neither the rental company nor the time has changed. The app warned that the difference in cost would be € 0.46. After the confirmation, it turned out that the application charged me again as a new lease. The App didn't change previous car booking. It just made a cancellation of the old reservation where your money is withdrawn as a penalty for cancellation and made a new reservation where your money is withdrawn again. The system does not issue any preliminary notifications or warnings. The support team can't help either. Be careful using Rentalcar.com services.

Avoid rentalcars.com at all costs. They are scamming people trough their " term of conditions" playing the same game of "Rentalcars.com". Wherever see a deal on internet about them... stay away! They are professional scammers. The rentalcars.com charge my debit card to get a car from Dollar Rent a Car UAE but the employee ( Imran) refused to charge the same card for deposit saying that I must hold a credit card in order to get the car. Rentalcars.com and Dollar rent a car UAE are super scammers. Stay away from these two companies if you need to rent a car. Their term of conditions are full of crap. Period.

We paid to reserve a car on Christmas day 2019 in Mexico. When we arrived to the airport, we were informed no cars were available. I tried to call Rentalcars.com but only got machines. The $550.86 charge stayed on our Visa. We tried to dispute this charge but our dispute was rejected. We were told we were a "No Show".

We paid for a car, showed up at the agreed upon time and place and received nothing in return!

This is theft!

I made a reservation through Priceline.com for a car rental for Mexico. As soon as I arrived to Mexico to pick up the car, the personal in the airport requested me a deposit of $10,500 dollar, plus full coverage for the vehicle in top of what I paid for the reservation. That information was not part of the reservation. I did not pick up the car and rental cars.com did not reimburse my reservation. It was horrible to try to contacted them. My family and I experienced the worst in a foreign country because of the lack of information that rentalcars.com.The worst reservation and worst customer service. Not recommended!

Email response:

Dear Mr. Rodriguez,

Thanks for your email. I am really sorry to see that you are not happy with the outcome of this case but we are unable to change our decision due to the terms and conditions.

It was clearly mentioned in the terms of the rental and the package which you chose says itself that its a basic package and does not include any Collision Damage Waiver or Theft Protection.

Mandatory Coverage

Paying mandatory coverage charges
Please bring a letter from your credit card company, confirming that you have the right cover for this rental. If you can't supply this proof, the counter staff will insist that you buy the cover at the counter.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
If the car's bodywork gets damaged, the most you'll pay towards repairs covered by the Collision Damage Waiver is the damage excess. This cover is only valid if you stick to the terms of the rental agreement. It doesn't cover other parts of the car (e.g. Glass, wheels, interior, roof or undercarriage), or charges (e.g. For towing or off-road time), or anything in the car (e.g. Child seats, GPS devices or personal belongings).

Theft Protection (TP)
This rental doesn't include Theft Protection.
Unless you have another policy that provides protection, you will be responsible for the full cost of replacing or repairing the car if it is stolen, or damaged while someone is trying to steal it.

These things are also mentioned on your voucher and on rental terms. This was shown on website as well which you accepted as the booking cannot e made until you accept the terms of the rental.

We hope that you can understand why we must have a cancellation policy in place, and why on this occasion we are unable to offer you any refund.

This case is now close and we will not be able to reopen this case. Please do not reply to this message.

Thanks
Regards

Noman

Rentalcars.com is a scam
November 25, 2020

I rented a car in Krakow, Poland using Rentalcars.com site. When I arrived at the car rentals.com cooperant "Global Rent A Car", I was told that my girlfriend cannot drive the car only I the holder of the credit car. In that case we didn't rent a car as my driver license was expired. Couple of weeks later, I noticed that I was fully charged for the car rental and when I complained to Rentalcars.com that the car was not rented to me, they only said sorry and didn't offer anything else. This company is a scam. They charge you without even giving you the keys or renting you a car.

Horrible service!

Very dissatisfied
November 21, 2020

Very disappointing. I should have visited facebook earlier to see how bad this company actually is. They will not allow me to pick up the car due to an unimportant technicality; I do not own a credit card myself but offered multiple workarounds that would have ensured the safety of the company and would have covered costs in case of damage. Workarounds that other companies in the past have accepted without a problem. But Rentalcars.com offered no support, no solutions, and proceeded to shoot down my efforts/solutions. The solutions and suggestions that I offered should have been given to me by them. Although the Chat-Supporter (Paul) wanted to stay professional, I did not feel like he wanted to help me at all. Simply repeating "No, this won't work/that won't work". They also will not refund me.
Very disappointed. Can't recommend it!

I made booking for a car via rentalcars.com on the 30 0ctober 2020, and when I got there I was told I need 2 produce lots of documents and I must pay a hefty amount as a deposit where else I have already finished paying for price for the car. I requested a refund and wrote multiple emails but to date I have not received any response from them, so I would like to inform others that it's not gud 2 book a car via rentalcars.com, rather go personally to book. I was scammed while trying to get necessary services

Despite incurring no damage and returning vehicle with more fuel than when I picked it up they have not refunded my security deposit. I kept getting fobbed off with ever increasing amounts of time it takes to process a refund, then they said I needed a letter from the bank to confirm the refund is not in the system, the bank would not provide a refund, but confirmed that nothing was in the system. They now ignore my communications.

The booking system will change the reservation behind your back. It's based on your IP address and It will override the correct details. No notification, no pop-up alert, nothing. The country of residence was switched to USA because I used the corporate network when I booked the car. The insurance(CDW / TP) was excluded and I paid twice as much for the car rental. I was not forced to pay for the insurance at the pick-up location but I would have to cover any damage from my own pocket. It would go up to 13,000EUR(15,000USD) so it was no brainer to get an insurance. This "pleasant" surprise was waiting for me at the check-in desk. The rental company is obviously not responsible for their booking system and they will not accept your claim for refund. Their assumption is that you know their booking system by heart and you are familiar with every single flaw in their system. Never again. You just lost a customer

Rentalcars.com is a SCAM
October 22, 2020

Rentalcars.com is a scam. I have booked a car rental through Rentalcars.com with a pickup at the Warsaw Airport. It turns out Rentalcars.com does not have any offices in Poland, they don't even have any cars. Rentalcars.com is a "middle-man" online only company from Great Britain. Rentalcars.com does not have any vehicles to rent. They use other (real) car rental companies to fulfil their bookings. Rentalcars.com charged my credit card $901.10 about a month before my trip, but Rentalcars.com did not pay the local car rental company in Poland. I supposed to pick-up a vehicle from Warsaw Airport from an agency Rentalcars.com designated to fulfil my booking. But when I landed at the Warsaw Airport and went to the designated location, I discovered that that companies' office has been closed for about two months. I did not get the vehicle, but Rentalcars.com kept my $901.10 claiming that I did not show up. Check Better Business Bureau, you will be surprised what you see.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
October 21, 2020

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

My partner booked a hire car through rentalcars.com. When she couldn't collect we tried to change the name on the booking, but we were told we couldn't, but if we cancelled and rebooked we would get a refund on the original booking. 4 months later we have now been told it is not being refunded.

The second booking we made under my name, we booked an air conditioned car as it was 32*C, and they supplied one with broken air conditioning, again told us in no uncertain words, where to go!

Do not use them!
