They will add receipt without sending alerts and stole ur money and say they are not responsible for money and block you for further contact

I have sent money to Brazil and I I have received email saying that the money is on the bank account and it's not there. There is no way something is wrong because it's savings and just savings account. Now I can't talk with anybody and nobody takes the phone. They have stolen my money

They give too unfair exchange rate. There are many other remittance company like ACE, world remit, skrill who give really high exchange rate.
They give too much advertisement everywhere. Thats why they give too unfair exchange rate too make profit.
I totally do not recommand this remittance.

This is really horrible, They took money from my bank account transaction is on hold, I am not able to cancel the transaction. Even customer call center number is not working. I really need help for assistance no way around to get the information.

First time they send the right amount they tell you by the message to earn your trust and 2nd time they start cheating you by sending the less amount and the customer service phone they list in the web site does not answer. Be very careful I got $7 less amount received the other side the whole purpose to save money for the service fees is ruined and my party on the other end got frustrated by dealing with the bank who got less money after Remitly transfer. I might start a law suit for these bastards.

Avoid Remitly at all costs. My experience with them has been extremely dissappointing. Transfers are put on hold for an inordinate amount of time. When speaking to them, they ask unneccessary and highly intrusive questions, and also ask for potentially sensitive financial information. I have never in my life experienced being asked by a service company such probing questions that border on offensive like Remitly has. Transfers are slow, and do not arrive on time. Refunds are held and at times never sent. They are without a doubt, the worst money transfer service I have dealt with.

DO NOT USE REMITLY

Please don't use Remitly if you want a smooth transaction. They claim that the money will be available on a particular day but it's not the case. Also on cancellation, it takes 10 business days for your money to be back to your bank account. They have mentioned on the website that if you cancel a transaction within 24 hours, no money will be deducted from your account. However when I did so because I was getting a far more better rate on Xoom, they deducted my money from the bank 3 days after I had already canceled the transaction (within 24hours). When I contacted the customer care, they were rude and non-cooperative and brushed away my concerns. The amount I was sending was not small but in thousands and it mattered to me that my funds reached on time. Now I'm left with no option but to wait for another 10 business days to transfer my money.

Fraud company

I have a verified account Tier 3. Transferred USD 2000 to my India account - they asked me to upload documents and call them again for verification. Obviously it is a technique to hold onto funds for longer time. Fraudulent company could not tell that they needed verification before submitting transfer request.

Worst experience
February 24, 2020

I attempted to send money to my niece for her birthday. They want to know everything about both sender and receiver. After a lengthy on line application I had to call the company, where I was interrogated by a person with a very thick foreign accent, who wanted every last detail about who I was sending to, why, did I plan to send more, how many times I have sent, how long I knew this person, then that still wasn't enough. He actually wanted me to send a copy of my bank statement.
Major red flags. I believe this is a scam

Yes they review your account you send them all the information they ask then delay transfer 2 to 4 hours. Is based in Philippines so at times hard to understand and they refer you to their compliance person who reads from a script. No real answers

I can only second what others have said. They put transactions on hold for no valid reason, and they ask intrusive, personal questions that are none of their business. Can you imagine Amazon doing something like this before they allow you to order?

Why are you buying this shirt?
How long have you known about this brand of shirt?
Why did you choose the plaid over the stripes?
Where do you plan to wear this shirt?
Who else besides yourself lives in the place to which we are shipping?
Where did you live in 2010?
We need to know who you are. Send us a Photo ID like a Drivers License or Passport.
Oh, sorry, that's not enough. How about copies of your bank statements too.

All to send $75 to Colombia.

Cannot believe Venture Capital firms are investing hundreds of millions in Remitly. The VCs need to oust the founders before they bankrupt this company. As happened to Travis Kalanick at Uber. He got his money, but he cannot continue to abuse everyone he comes in into contact with.

Matt Oppenheimer Founder & CEO, MUST GO... like in FIRE HIM, REPLACE HIM, TERMINATE HIM. This company will not survive with a management change.

Remitly is truly the worst money transfer service I have ever used. But it's not okay that. It's the worst service company I've ever interacted with. They are beyond the worst. This third rate joke of a company has no place in the financial services industry. I use TransferWise primarily and WesternUnion or MoneyGram once in a while in a pinch. I found out about Remitly and gave them a try and I cannot believe what I have just went through. The amount of time wasted. The incompetence.

I understand the need for outsourcing to India and the Philippines to pay people $100 a month to answer your calls. But do you have to hire the shoddiest most incompetent phone slaves in existence. Their call centers are a joke.

I sent a total of 5 transfers. The first two I spent over an hour on hold before being asked 20 questions and then the Filipina telling me she was approving my transaction like she was doing me a FAVOR!

Then after verifying my Identity and saying in an email that they "apologize for the time" it takes for the verification process and it's a "one time" process. And they won't need to do it again. FALSE!

I had to go through their verification questions and sending my bank statements every single time!

Then I sent $500 instead of $200 and they asked again for my bank account which I sent. Then without a word they cancelled my account and refunded the money and the Indian guy on the line laughed and said I can't use their service anymore?!?!?

Stay far away! They are a joke! Not even remotely worth the time and pain to save a couple bucks!

I'm a remitly customer for over 2 years. They unceremoniously cancelled my account with no other information. Their privacy issues abound from asking for bank statements (which I had to anonymize myself), to their staff not knowing what they're doing in regards to financial transactions. I've also encountered rude staff. I mainly used them because of the rates - the speed and ease I could do business, and that I generally didn't have to interact with anyone. But nevermind putting up with them - they'll 'audit' your transactions and question you about them. The second audit, was the last one - they closed my account with no explanation - this is after spending thousands in fees to them over the years - sending to actual bank accounts.

DON'T USE THEM.

Have been using Remitly for a couple of years now. Sending money to Philippines. Money transfers have been quick and without complication.
My gripe with Remitly is that they think they have the right to request months of bank statements. When you question them they state it is in their terms and conditions which you agreed to. And that it is their policy (as if their policies cannot be questioned by a mere customer). If you don't provide the statements they will suspend your account. A letter from the bank validating me as the account holder is not good enough - they want to examine all of my personal transactions...
I have my policies too Remitly and they are inconsistent with yours

Remitly is fraud!

They cancel the transaction after they took my $1,000 in my account! They said to wait 48 hours before they send back my money on my account. But after 48 hours I still didn't recieve my money! I call the bank many times, I call remitly many times! My $1,000 is gone!
