Worst & Terrible experience. I was a new customer and they offer PROMO rate to new customers but when I was making transaction, the transfer rate changed like there was a 1 CAD = 57 INR on home screen for new customers but when I was making transaction, the rate displayed to 1 CAD = 56.79 INR. The raised this concern to support/service team but didn't got any reply... They are unresponsive and unreliable people. The referral amount also they don't gives to customers. Lots of excuses and talking about terms & conditions bla bla bla... Stay away!.

Signed up and tried to execute a transfer but was met with delays, promises, apologies, more delays and broken promises. Nothing suspicious here, just a retired USCitizen visiting the Philippines. After missing their deadline, 14 hours later they asked for a Photo of my Passport, Bank Statement and to answer 7 or 8 questions. I immediately complied. Two hours later they asked for a selfie of me holding my Passport which I immediately did. That was over 4 hours ago and in about 30 minutes it will be 24 hours since I first requested this transfer. My problem now is they are holding my money so I can't go make multiple withdrawals Over the next few days from the ATM. This company sucks.

They take tour money and even if you sent identificación they say delayed processing issues! Take more than 2 weeks tomorrow Timoteo tomorrow and the waiting time is horrible

I wish I had read the reviews here for remitly before I attempted to send a foreign friend some money before they starved due to pandemic instead these fraudsters blocked the payment and kept the money and locked me out of their system and with no phone contact I could not use their chat as you can only access that when you log in i had to register under another name to get in to chat, and only after going to my bank who suggested I contact the police and wrote to the ombudsman they finally refunded me. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO SEND MONEY VIA THESE CROOKS they are literally getting away with murder and should have been shut down long ago as all these victims have been SCAMMED

A scam!

Remitly sent through my first money transfer of $200usd to Mexico just fine. But when I tried a second transfer, it initially went through, but then Remitly sent me an email saying there was an issue, and I needed to log in and answer some questions. So I did that, mostly pertaining to the person receiving the money. But they also wanted a photo copy of my bank statement! WTH! For a $250 transfer? I called my bank and they said don't do it. It was a 5day transfer straight from my bank to remitly they would have had plenty of time to get the money and send it on absolutely NO reason for them to request my bank statement. I had quite an online chat with one of their customer help agents what a joke. He gave some song and dance about Mexico wanting to make sure I wasn't laundering money ($250? Please!) and a bunch of other crap that made no sense. So I refused the demand, and they cancelled my transfer. People, this company is either getting hacked, or they are running an elaborate scam. Run, Forest, run!

Bad, VERY BAD

I Have never seen a remittance company this bad. My first transfer they asked why.
My second transfer they asked for more proof

They have my passport + licence + bank statement + proof of send (My wife)

They Canceled my second transfer after sending my ID and bank statement and pointed me to the terms and conditions. My account was disabled which also disables Live chat, Email support and Phone support.

If i can't send to my wife, why does this site even exist?

Useless company, do not trust them with your money.

They've had my money eight days. They do not honor the guaranteed delivery date. Reading all the bad reviews basically the same thing happened to me. I am reporting them to the banking authorities and the BBB.

I tried registering and transferring money through Remitly. However, even after a few hours when I did not get the transfer confirmation, I tried contacting the customer service and they were on a chat. First of all, the customer service was very rude and for the whole time she tried to prove me wrong rather than explaining me how to submit the required documents correctly. And if my documents were not submitted correctly, why did they allow me to make a transfer and thus blocking my money in the Bank. I gave my Driver's licence and bank statement to them. They said they need a complete statement and did not update me until I tried to contact them to get the reasons for the delay. I am utterly disgusted and even after 3 days I am still waiting for my money to be refunded. I will never ever go back to them. Its really been a BIG hassle to deal with this company. Western Union is the best.

I have sent money twice, they delivered it to my recipiant, not in minutes but in Hours, then now for the third time the hold my payment, and ask for recipiant ID, i have provided, still same on hold, then contacted them on costumer service, no phone, no email, and no chat available, after some time chat appeard, i waited til was my turn, chated to many different names wich i habe doubt that same persone with no specific answer, only said we will email to their partner to release my payment, 2 days gone same thing. Looks like a multi million dollar scam is remitly. Stay Away from them.
I am going to report them and advice to those who been affected by remitly to others, Do not Use these mo,,, th,,, r F... r, ssss.

Unreliable

I sent just over 200 pounds urgently to my mother-in-law on Friday 05/06/20 and was given an estimated time of around 5 minutes for transfer to go through. But then the funds went on hold, hence l called customer services which was equally a waste of time. I was informed they cannot do anything about it and that I have to give it about an hour. Fast forward to Saturday 06/06/20, I received a message from Remitly to say, they required further information from me before the transfer can go through. I was instructed to sign into my account to complete this. I logged into my account only to find a message saying, I should upload a screenshot of my bank account as security precaution. Now, my question is who requires your bank accounts for sending just over 200 pounds. Normal people ask for a passport or your driving license, not my full bank account details. This made me query the credibility of the company hence requested a refund. I received an email to say my refund will be in my accounts on the 06/06/20, but as I write this review today 07/06/20, the money has still not be refunded. Meaning a delay in re-transferring the money to my in-law. What a joke of a company. Stay away completely from them.

Scam

No email support, no chat service and there is no other way to track your money. It will show you your money has been sent and will be given a fancy receipt number which is just a camouflage. It is obvious that an app/service allows you only to send but when it comes to tracking progress or you need to talk to them, they are well beyond your reach. What does that mean?

If the money receiver's details are wrong the amount bounces back, but how do you know if you are not allowed to communicate?

Ripped Off!

I have read the other reviews here, and I can agree, that this is the most unreliable and untrustworthy transaction company I have ever dealt with!
Yes, i transferred money. Yes, my transaction was put on hold, yes my transaction was cancelled due to "suspicious circumstances", yes, they debited my bank account ( which they said they hadn't)...
And, no - I cant activate my Remitly(App) account because they have locked me out, in order to retrieve my transaction.
I have tried to contact them by email:

If the rating had "zero" I would have chosen that. Please use other services if possible. I was sending money to Nigeria, they asked me for two different documents and asked me to answer about four different questions over three days period which I did all. Some of the question was a repeat of a question I had already answered. I sent a copy of drivers license, a copy of pay stab as proof of income and all that. After all that, they called me to tell me they will cancel my transaction because they "noticed some suspicious activity..". This has been a very frustrating experience.

Its been twice my experience with remitly. I send money knowing that its on minutes but its been days already and the money was not cleared till now, I called they ask so many question regarding my bank statement I send 1 statement but still they need more, so I said cancel it. It so annoying. I will stop using remitly for my remittance. There are better remittance company to replace remitly, so bad service.

"WORST COMPANY" 05/25/2020
My initial experience was good but as soon as I got confident I started to send out money for our business lawyer.
$2999, $2999. As soon as we complete the 1st transaction we got our receipt, then the 2nd one. 11 days later they keep up asking for more papers to submit. Passport, ID, reason to send money, bank statements, pay stub. These people are a complete scam! Be warned! Don't use them. There is no cancellation button and no one to talk to.

Be warned!

The initial experience was satisfactory except the fact that the transfer took over 3 days and was paid on the fourth. The second experience and the anguish is still ongoing. Initial the site said the transfer is absolutely free but towards end it said it is liable to a fee of £2.99. The rates as not competitive and now the bombshell of the fee but I still proceeded because of the first experience. But now it is over 4 days the transfer hasn't reached the recipient who is in desperate need of the money. You cannot contact them in any way and this is conveniently being blamed on Covid-19 virus. I have send them emails requesting refund of my money and the fees but no response whatsoever. This is diabolical and disgusting way to treat a customer who is the foundation of the success of the business. This utter disrespect and disregard is unacceptable from a successful Company. Avoid them at all costs. There are other better companies around; shop around on comparison websites such as Monito. Thanks reading and good luck
