What a rip off!
As a tradesman i spent a lot of money on leads... some obviously false. No refund received!
Also seems customers can leave any rating they want whatever the circumstances... i personally had all 5 star ratings until i decided 2 customers had messed me around enough. Cancelling appointments etc and told them i wasnt interested in their work anymore
They both went on site and gave me 1 star ratings for work i didnt even do! According to rated people this is acceptable! Really?
Tradesmen avoid at all... very expensive... costs!

I have been a builder/joiner for many years and decided to go onto rated people 8 months ago after cancelling my yellow pages ad, making this my main source of advertising and link to obtaining work. In the past 8 months I have had all 5* reviews and never had any negative feedback. On Friday 6th of May I received an email stating I was being removed from their company website has I didn't adhere to their high standards! This come has quite a shock as I didn't understand why? I have tried numerous times to speak to someone there and they will not speak to me. I feel very upset and disappointed with this and feel I should have an explanation. To top it off they have also been in contact with a customer who I was going to be doing a job for next this week, saying that they had removed me as I hadn't adhered to their high standards (embarrassing) and also giving my company and myself a really bad name and impression where are my rights as a tradesman...

The leads are expensive and most of them are duds. Rated People falls somewhere between the category of "parasites" and "scammers". Save your money, and stay well clear. What they are doing should be illegal.

I myself am a skilled tradesman that believes in doing a good job. I have built up a 5 star rating on this website on all my jobs. I am totally frustrated by this website that on many occasions i purchase jobs that to me must be bogus as i ring up phone is off or no answer message and email them and get no response at all, i only buy when i am the first tradesman and ring immediately. We pay money for these leads but on many occasions have not been able to even quote. Rated People will not do a thing about it. Yet customers post for free and obviously dont understand this.

They by all acounts arent any better at dealing with customers, when tradesman have done problamatic work.

I just really cant understand this the only reason for this is bad management, greed or maybe fraud.

Wish they would buck up there ideas or i know for sure they will have no tradesman left.

Save your money and time. They dont vet leads.
I read a lead once that said " for hire one foxy lady who loves cxxk.

They will cancel youre account if you dont subscribe to paying massive yearly subscriptions.
They will not refund a lead price... no matter how foxy you are!
They employ staff who can only read from dummy cards.

Listen. The concept of rated is viable it is but the underhanded conduct of this company cant be forgiven.
Big money is being made by this company on a daily basis and its tradesmen and women are being abused.

Blind robin hoods robbing from the poor to feed the rich...

How long is left on the cards for rated people?

I am a tradesmen, i have done many jobs on rated people and had full 5 star overall rating from all previous customers apart from the huge lead fees and cheap skate home-owners i got by using it, my account was getting used by some1 else (hacked)and when i called them up to question this they just didnt not help at all i verified my identity and original account details and even scanned them my driving license and bank and they would not alter the account as the name on account and bank details dont have to match which is so dodgy this allowed my bank details, address and details to still be used by the hacker they do not have the resources to check anything or brains just want money from lead fees do not use tradesmen and homeowners especially if the tradesmens details dont have to match anything very risky for every1

I always worry when it takes me 10 minutes to find a companies telephone number on their website! When you do find it you are confronted by a rude and ignorant person usually asian. The lats one was called mahmooda. They have no managers, they will say the same, we dont have to tell you who the data controller is lol (ICO please take note). What a starange attitude for a company alleging to be helping the public find good honest tradesmen of which i am one. Have spent £1500 with them much of which has been wasted because they dont respond.
This company is a shambles. I have looked at the directors of this company and they appear to owe millions of pounds each with few assets? Are they attempting to repay their debt by ripping off tradesmen in a climate that is tough already?
Well i'm certainly going to do my best to find out with the help of some friendly journalists i know. If Tescos can go down the pan then i'm sure rated people will be a pushover.

They do not vet leads, you can pay for a job, customer dosent awnser, or has changed their mind about work and you still get charged and will refuse to offer a refund stating they are an introductory service and they are not resbonsible for peoples behaviour after you have purchased leads! AVOID!

I have been a member of rated people since 2010. In that time I have managed to gain work through them. The problem is the price of the leads are very expensive in my case around £60 each, and if the person putting the job on the website does not get back to you or has changed there mind then we get screwed as rated people don't allow a refund. This website has become a rip off and they don't have any respect for the trademens anymore greed has got the better of them and taking into consideration it was started up by a guy called Andrew Skipwith who once was ripped off himself he has let greed become the better of him.
