Just like many other users, I created a free code online for my business cards. Come to find out, that they own the link and I am prompted to pay now over 118 dollars to use my link, I find this unethical and misleading. I would suggest finding another code elsewhere and avoiding this site at all costs
Edit: Another review explained a way to activate the free plan hidden deep in the help center, this solved part of my issue but my original review stands- very misleading and bad business practices. Get your code elsewhere
Then you will have to pay them $10 a month. $10 is way too much a month for just one QR code. I ended up printing many copies with this QR code and now I am forced to pay for this

The web site of QR code Generator says that only dynamics QR codes expire at the end of the 14 days free trial. In my experience, all QR codes created with a free account expire at the end of the 14 days, even statics ones. In that regard, QR codes Generator is misleading. I wish I never come across that website.

Basically, they give you a trial without telling you when you sign-up. And any qr code you will have made will become inactive.
Without any warning, if you printed any of them, you now have to PAY. Because it's not a QR code to the actual link, they control the link and not you anymore once you've passed through their services.

I unwittingly made dynamic QR codes during my trial (that allow you to track scans and change the website address linked to a QR code). The default, when creating QR codes, is set to dynamic QR codes. Unlike static QR codes, these will stop working if you don't then subscribe at the end of the 14 days. However, if you create static QR codes, they remain useable. I feel really stupid and because I work for a non-profit and don't feel the organisation should pay for my mistake, I'll be paying for this personally. I feel tricked. I won't extend beyond this annual subscription and just paid this money so current printed materials are useable. I'll be making future QR codes somewhere else. I thought this would be a good reputable company to deal with because they are owned by bitly. But their business model isn't one that makes you feel like you can trust them or that you're empowered to make the decisions that suit your budget.

Was referred by Hubspot to this website. It all appears as a "free" tool. But once you've created and started using the QR code, 14 days in, they block the redirects until you pay a YEARLY fee.
Would not have used this service if they made it clear ahead. It's quite unethical.

Contacted them a year ago, haven't heard from them and had to pay the yearly subscription to use a free-tiered feature because there was no way to contact them to solve my problem. STAY AWAY.
Of course I still got the email for the automatic renewal, good luck with that.

They give you this free trial but you can't delete or remove QR codes as you are learning their system and then when the trial is over they charge you for ALL the QR codes you have in their system and then they require 1 years payment. I only needed 1 QR code for maybe 1 week and ended up having to pay several hundred dollars for it. WORST BUSINESS PRACTICE EVER. Stay Clear!

So it says free and you think you will just have to put up with some advertising when you use the App? WRONG! You get a limited free trial period, then unless you pay, your beautiful QR codes no longer work.
You thought they were generating QR codes for the websites you input? Wrong again. If you still have the free trial, create one then look at all the little letters and symbols and see if they match. They don't. When people click on the QR Code, they are routed through a QR-Code-Generator.com server that only connects them to your link if you are a paid up subscriber.
PLEASE, IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO PRINT SOMETHING WITH THESE CODES ON YOUR PRINTED MATTER, DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP PAYING THIS COMPANY FOR AS LONG AS THIS PRINTED MATTER WILL BE AROUND. Business cards are kept for years... etc.
Really, this feels like legalized hostage taking, so DON'T GET ANYTHING PRINTED USING THESE CODES UNLESS YOU CONSIDER THE LONG TERM COST OF MAINTAINING A SUBSCRIPTION.
I Gave these guys one star. They can create all sorts of QR codes for all sorts of purposes and to you, this may be worth the lifetime subscription. For me, it's worth one star and a kick in the pants for not reading the fine print and many pages of Terms and conditions that may have shown me that I wasn't getting anything I wanted.

The word "Free" kept popping everywhere in the process of creating the QR code, free QR code, create a free account, etc. I have now printed all of my business cards with their QR code on them, and it has now been deactivated, telling me that I need to purchase a membership to make it work again.
I'm usually very wary about the so-called free trials, but in here no credit cards info were asked and no info that the entire code would stop working instead for one feature. I even went back through the full process of creating another QR code on the website to check where I could have missed it, and at no point they make it clear that I was using a trial code that would end up being deactivated until I paid for it after.
After looking at the reviews I feel cheated on and I find it particularly dishonest for a business to rely on misleading people for sales this way.
Judging by their copy pasted-replies on the negative reviews I can see that they unfortunately have no intention on changing this.
I feel like the only right thing for me to do is to actively let all of my colleagues and clients know how dishonest the sales tactics of QR Code Generator is before they put themselves in the same awkward situation than I am in.
They tell you clearly that the QR codes you create will be free forever, and then ask you to create an account, which is actually a 14 day free trial. But you don't notice that, because you have previously been told the codes will be free forever. And then 14 days later, the QR codes are deactivated and you get a bill - minimum £60, up to £130.

I did a quick google search for a free QR code generator for my wedding, it brought me straight to their website where they let me create one for free easily, with no mention of a free 14 day trial or that you would eventually have to subscribe. I created my invitations using this QR code, only to get an email 14 days later saying my free trial was done and my QR code (that was already printed) was deactivated unless I pay the full yearly membership of $120. They have no customer service available to contact on their website. Very frustrating.

After not using their qr-code even once that I was tricked into paying for in the first place, they decide to auto renew my code for another year!
This is a trap, they make a code that you can make free already and since they let you use it for a month, you don't know that you have to subscribe, and you end up paying hundreds of $$$ for a code that you can get free already... Now after they auto renewed me, I went to unsub and even though it's only a couple hours old, if I were to cancel today, it would invalidate my new 1-year subscription! The renew email is not even 2 hours old!

This is a fraud website. It doesn't warn you on creating a QR. We printed the QR code and it was redirecting their website. After our trial expired, their website is warning as expired. They want 60€ for activate. It's fraud. It's scam.

They charged me for Advanced and charged me $200 when I clearly did not order that. They send you emails telling you to respond with a question and the email doesn't work. I'm so pissed right now. They tell you $5 a month then charge you $200. They are in no way up front that your code will expire, then they do not tell you that they are billing annually, they sign you up for advanced no matter what you choose, and the emails they tell you to respond to don't allow you to reply. It goes on and on. This company is a scamming predator.

Awful! You make the code and it all seems free, so I got some leaflets printed. Then I scan them and the qr has been deactivated because 'the trial has ended'. Don't bother with this crap service, there are much better for free around

Absolutely terrible experience with this company. I thought I was signing up for an account to save QR codes but its a 2 week trial and afterwards your qr codes are disabled. And then to pour salt in your wound they email you every time someone scans your QR code. RUN! Find another website to generate qr codes.
