Like many others have said, you're under the impression that it's a free trial. You're not notified that the link will stop working after 2 weeks and are forced to pay to reactivate the code. I've tried to cancel the subscription many times, but am still being charged yearly. Customer service is nonexistent.
Do not use this service, it's absolutely terrible, and should be shut down for immoral business practices. If you pay for a year, you damn better know when your 1 year subscription ends, because you'll automatically be enrolled for ANOTHER year, and they won't let you quit until you pay them, it's basically extortion. F this company, they suck.
No mention it runs out after 14 days. By which time I had already printed it out for use on a poster.
Then after not renewing it sends me an email telling me someone had try to scan my qr code, so I'm missing out on a and! Which wasn't possible as I only printed it out once and it's now covered up! Plus I was standing right next to it!
Advertise free QR codes and then email afew days later once you have used the code on advertising material and are tied in to using the code to then let you know that was just a free trial and they now want to charge you ALOT of money each month to maintain the code
They are good at working with the fine prints. They entice you into creating a QR, then the free period expires, and you need to make a subscription. Word advice, stay away;-)
Printed some of my promotional material with qr code created on the website, after 14 days they want me to pay min £60 to have my qr code working. You can basically get the qr code free for many other company without pay a penny. Stay away if you read the reviews
The basically create a free QR code as you see, then you create account and they change the URL to a url that redirects through their website. After 14 days they reveal that the QR code you downloaded is not working because it is a redirect that looked like it was to your site and they charge you for something that is totally free.
It is one of the most clever scams I have seen and I can understand that bitly bought them. They should burn in hell.
I googled 'Free QR' code into google and QR Code Generator came up under the ads so I use it. Little did I know, as it wasn't clear at all, that it stopped working after the 14 days. I nearly lost a client I have had for 10 year because it had stopped working and they were fuming as knowone could book their course. So I had to paty £160 out of my own pocket to keep the QR active (only used it for over a month!). I feel scammed as it wasn't made very clear how the process worked!
And they want money for you to keep using them! A complete scam if you ask me.
Keep searching for other sites that offer Ransom Free QR generators. This will expired after 15 days unless you pay them.
Without any warning or reason, just a few days after I paid my annual subscription, they disabled my account, along with the corresponding QR code. I logged two support tickets asking why, but still haven't got a reply.
What is even more interesting, all of a sudden the "Contact Support" link on their site leads to "404 Not Found".
QR Code Generator Pro looks like a full-scale SCAM. AVOID AT ALL COST!
UPDATE (15 Nov 22): After all, at least they responded and provided full refund for my annual subscription.
The QR codes work well however the "free" part is pretty misleading. After over an hour searching I've found out how to get the free plan. Make sure the qr codes you make are as plain as possible during the free trial so they are definitely available on the free plan.
Follow this link - https://help.qr-code-generator.com/en/articles/*******-how-can-i-activate-the-free-plan
Then Click "here"
The next page didn't load for me at first but I kept trying (out of our stubbornness). The next day the link worked fine, just log in and there should be an option to activate the free plan at the bottom of the page (under the heading "do you offer individual plans").
You'll then get a pop up, click "activate free plan" and BOOM
The website makes it as difficult as physically possible to find all this but I felt the need to post it here because it's really misleading and unfair to consumers. Hope this saves someone a few pounds :)
Everybody is upset about the same thing with this company. Here is the solution but please let's do this to help each other out. Please copy and paste this whole write up to the bottom of your review so everyone can benefit!
Problem: You sign up for the free trial to make your QR code knowing that in 14-days you will no longer be able to edit it but you think that of course the QR code will still work. Surprise! The code no longer works and they are now forcing you to pay a lot of money for 1 QR code.
Solution: You can change your dynamic paid account for a static free account which will make that QR code you made work once again without paying any money! With the free account you get 1 dynamic QR code and 5 static (not editable) QR codes. It's a little hidden... Just go to the features and pricing page here: https://my.qr-code-generator.com/features-and-pricing and scroll down to the bottom where it says, "Do you offer individual plans?" Then simple click on "Activate Free Plan" Boom that's it! Your QR code is working again! Please copy and paste this along with the photo so that everyone can benefit!
I used this service to produce a QR code, and after 2 weeks (when already printed it on cards) they remember to let me know I have to pay them ($10/mo) or it will expire.
There's barely any mention of this (except a little box on the side that says "expires in 14 days") when you make the code. This is such a scam!
I've had the same experience as others (create a "free" QR code and get charged 2 weeks later) so I won't speak to that. I hope to bring light to the "how" they do this, and the aftermath so that it hopefully helps others. First off, the FORCE you into a QR code builder that is their "premium" QR code generator. That is the first shady tactic of their business. Yes, they allow you to add graphics, colors and logos on them and they indicated that THOSE features are premium. Great, good job - however, they do not tell you that even with the standard logo-less, color-less QR code that the majority of us make, that you are STILL creating a "premium" qr code.
The aftermath is just as explained. Everything goes great for 2 weeks until someone scans your QR code and force you onto a blocked landing page. Support won't answer and they don't keep a contact us page so you're essentially boxed into paying or re-printing collateral with a new QR code from a more ethical business. Nobody will take the time out to respond to your issue that has actual business ramifications to their "user", but they will find a way to log into this site and copy and paste the same exact response to everyone rightfully bad mouthing them and their shady practices. This company is awful and should be avoided at all costs - literally. If you're going to spend money, do it elsewhere
I used this service to make some flyers and it gave some nice cosmetic options on how to display the codes, as well as organize them in the backend. However, I stopped using the service after the event and forgot I had it. I received an annual charge the following year and was upset because I didn't realize I still had the service, however they were kind enough to refund the charge. I highly recommend them for a quality service and their goodwill.
Misleading company that provides "free" QR codes. However, the default QR codes you put in are only free for a short period of time, before you are forced to pay a hefty annual fee. BEWARE before using this for anything important like wedding invitations!
This company claims their QR codes are "free" and i made the awful decision to use them for my WEDDING RSVPs... they not only deactivated my QR code without notifying me, which i was then forced to purchase their YEARLY plan for $190 just to REACTIVATE my QR Code, but they then deactivated it AGAIN after I purchased the full year plan... so i was forced to re-purchase ANOTHER yearly plan just to get my wedding RSVP QR Code re-activated AGAIN since we still have 4 weeks left for people to RSVP.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They will not only destroy whatever important event you are planning, but they will never refund your money and will force you into purchasing again and again just to keep the code activated.
I was just pressured into paying for a yearly subscription for two QR codes which I believed were free. They had been printed on collateral and therefore too difficult to change. They need to make it clear when signing up that it is a free trial and after expiry there will be a charge to maintain the codes. Stay away from this crowd. Do not recommend.
This company advertises a free product, but then after 14 days pulls the plug on your QR codes if you don't pay a YEARLY fee for said codes. I already added these QR codes to print marketing campaigns so I am SOL and VERY disappointed by the misleading and frankly unethical messaging.
May have purchased the product anyway, as it's a solid product, but do not like being led astray to then take my money. Not cool.
Should have read this reviews before. I totally agree that this site is misleading saying it's 'free' - to disable your codes after your trial expired if you don't pay. If my codes wouldn't have been printed already, I would never pay for their service. I deeply regret having to use this site.
Answer: Scam. They double charge and nothing they offer is free.
Answer: No, they are a bunch of robbing a*seholes through and through!

Cheers, Lena from QR-Code-Generator.com
Answer: They responded to my inquiry after going through the "AI" assistant on their website by basically telling me to pay MORE money. So, there's that.
Answer: Hi, We apologize for the delay. You can contact us through the contact form which is available on the features and pricing page: http://my.qr-code-generator.com/features-and-p…. Thank You.
Answer: You have to go through their AI assistant to create a ticket. Really awful "AI" too, basically can't answer anything.

QR Code Generator PRO includes premium features such as real-time tracking and editing. These features set it apart from our QR Code Generator, which is 100% free but lacks any additional tools. When you sign up for the PRO version, it starts with a 14-days free trial for you to test all features and then decide if this is the right software for you. All Dynamic QR Codes created within the free trial period are simply paused and can be reactivated after a plan is chosen. If you created any Static QR Codes during the trial period, they will continue to work.
