Called Puls because my refrigerator wasn't cooling properly. The technician came the same day, and the ONLY thing he did was to open the door and take an instant temperature reading. He closed the door and said the evaporative fan motor AND control board needed to be replaced and that it would cost $650 to fix (the cost of the control board part alone was $300). The technician pressured me to sign up for a membership at $34.99/month. I said that I would not do so without first reading the terms/conditions of the contract. I had to pay $146.20, which the technician said was for the service charge and partial payment of the parts. Puls emailed the invoice a few hours later and I was shocked to discover that the technician signed me up for the membership and charged $34.99 to my credit card without my authorization. That is credit card fraud, pure and simple. I tried to call Puls to resolve the issue and got nowhere. However, after posting several negative online reviews in which I mentioned that I had filed a complaint with my state Attorney General's Office, Puls sent me an email saying that it had cancelled the membership that I never authorized in the first place and would give me a partial refund of $57,20. I am still fighting with Puls for a refund of the $89 service charge. I called a local repair service and the technician fixed the problem in 5 minutes--there was no problem with the control board.
It is clear that negative online reviews have been unsuccessful in motivating this company to change its deceptive and fraudulent business practices. If you feel that you were scammed: 1) file a complaint with your state Attorney General's Office; 2) file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission; 3) dispute the charge with your credit card company; 4) post negative reviews online specifically stating that you filed complaints with your AG Office and the FTC because that is the only thing that seems to get the company's attention.

I wish I had listened to my hesitation when I agreed to the membership. I used it after 40 days and making the 1st payment on 6/5/25. It was easy to book service for my leaking refrigerator, and the serviceman who showed up was prompt and on time. But I had to pay $220 for what HE said was a simple repair. After doing some checking, I discovered there are better plans out there, so I just cancelled. Many of the same charges I was charged yesterday -member saving, cancellation fees, security and support waver(!) were charged today totaling $128 just to cancel. This company is not even rated on the BBB, which was my warning sign. This is clearly a case of buyer beware and I hope this helps someone.
The BBB listed A+ companies that cover more, and as a recent widow, I will pay for my mistake, but they will too.

I regret not having looked at the online reviews before I contacted the company to repair a malfunctioning light in my refrigerator. The technician said the repair would cost about $445. I declined to have the repair done and paid $95 for the service call. I then went online and saw how to replace the LED light and ordered a replacement from Amazon for $9.69. The light now works well. Puls gives new meaning to disreputable. My advice to anyone considering using them is to read all of the reviews about this company before being ripped off.

I scheduled an appointment via the puls.com website, was contacted by a local technician, and got the repair completed within a few days. The price tag? Replacing a $17 evaporator fan cost me $441.05. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, the problem reoccurred. I reached out to Puls via the number provided for a warranty repair, but it took two weeks for the technician to come out. During the appointment, the technician told me he couldn't do the repair then and that I would have to schedule another appointment.

(Spoiler alert: the problem was misdiagnosed. The evaporator fan was fine!)

Over the next several weeks, I attempted to reschedule, but the technician stopped taking my calls and no longer responded to text messages. So, I reached out to Puls support.

Puls support (via email and phone calls) stated that there were no records of communication after the initial repair and that we were now outside the 90-day warranty. "There is nothing we can do."

After sharing screenshots of the text communication and call logs, they were able to track down the technician, who claimed he had completed the repair. (This was the same tech who had handed me his personal card on the first visit and said I should contact him directly if there were any problems.)

Outcome: I contacted the refrigerator manufacturer directly, who helped me correctly troubleshoot the problem. It turned out to be the condenser fan, not the evaporator fan. So, I ordered the part, Amazon delivered it the next day, I installed the fan, and now I have a working refrigerator again.

Lesson learned? Don't use Puls. If anything goes wrong, you'll be sh!t out of luck. It's their "policy."

Scammers!
February 3, 2025

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCAMMERS!

Puls is running a fraudulent and deceptive business, and I strongly warn anyone against using their services! They lied to me, took my money, and refused to issue a refund despite clear proof that no repair was done.

I scheduled a dishwasher repair on 01/30/25 because it wasn't draining. The technician claimed he "hopefully" had the necessary pump and initially quoted me $350. After I pushed back on the price, he returned with a $244.90 quote, claiming he wouldn't charge me for the part but would still replace it.

This was a complete LIE. After he left, I inspected the dishwasher and found that nothing had been replaced—all parts were still covered in five years of dust, and there were no signs of work done. I even took a photo of the box he brought in, and after researching it, I discovered it was a GE control board for a range oven—NOT even a dishwasher part! On top of that my dishwasher is a Frigidaire! This proves the technician deliberately misled me and scammed me out of my money.

When I contacted Puls customer service, they were condescending, dismissive, and refused to refund me, claiming I "wouldn't know" what part was replaced. Really?! If they actually replaced something, I wouldn't still see years of untouched dust on every component! The technician lied, took my money, and left without doing anything.

At this point, Puls has stolen $244.90 from me and refuses to take responsibility. This company is a SCAM, and they should not be trusted. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for fraudulent business practices, and I encourage others to do the same.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM PULS! If you need repairs, find a reputable company that won't scam you and lie to your face.

Puls is Trash!
October 12, 2024

The Puls company is complete trash! My husband and I had the worst experience! 2 months of them telling us a technician was coming out, then no shows, happened 4 times! Then we finally get a supervisor on the line and they admit that the part for our oven has been on backorder so they don't know why we were getting appointment notifications. They finally admitted that the technician they were using was unreliable/unresponsive so they send a different technician but wouldn't honor the discount they gave us (due to all the appts that were no shows)! No customer service, no accountability, no professionalism. Lost money on this because they wouldn't refund of our deposit of $139 of their service plan. Worst experience!

Ghosted
September 15, 2024

I have a stackable Whirlpool washer which quit draining. Appointment was scheduled for Friday morning and then pushed back to the afternoon by Paul the technician. Get a call from Paul that they are backed up and rescheduled for the next day in the morning. That was the last communication. Totally ghosted. I called another company and showed up. I tried not ti give a rating but was forced to to leave a review.

Charged 4X - stay away
August 22, 2024

We requested a microwave installation from Puls online.
We included a picture of the location of the microwave installation in the kitchen, a description of the work, and the information on the new GE Profile model to be installed in the cabinet.
Puls provided and estimate of the cost of the work as 1-2 hours at a cost of $115.80 per hour.
We signed off on this estimate and scheduled the appointment for 8/21/24 at an arrival time between 2 and 3 pm.
The technician Solomon arrived at 4:06 pm - over an hour late.
Upon arrival, he informed my wife that it would take 4 hours to install and he began work.
We were not concerned because it was an hourly rate and we would pay for the amount of time it actually took.
Upon completion of the work at 4:50 pm, 44 minutes later, Solomon requested/required payment from my wife for four hours of labor at a cost of $463.21.
My wife and I discussed the situation and we were concerned about her getting into an argument with a large man in our home, so we paid the $461.21 and I told my wife I would pursue reimbursement later form Puls for the obvious overcharging.
I presented all of these facts to Puls and they refused to refund the amount requested and are charging us for 4 hours of work for 44 minutes of work.
Among the reasons they stated for the overcharging were -
The microwave was heavier than a regular microwave - I included the model of the microwave which included the size and weight of the microwave.
A mounting kit had to be installed - once again, we included all of the information on the model to be installed, including the picture of the similar microwave being replaced. This literally required four screws to be removed and four screws for installation.
Solomon discussed the time required with my wife - he did say it could take up to 4 hours, be the rate quoted at inception and installation was an hourly rate. We had no idea they would charge 4X the actual time required.
Solomon is a thief and a liar and Puls backs him.

I've attempted to contact Puls and they refuse to grant a refund. They did not fix my dishwasher and their technicians are clearly not licensed plumbers or electricians. They committed to repair my appliance and did not do that, instead they "fixed" some made-up issue and classified the work as done. The service was started on June 8,2024. We paid $200 and nothing was fixed. Eventually, we called our local Sears technician and they were able to fix the dishwasher. Puls refuses to resolve the issue nor provide a refund.

Destroyed my home, the walls, ripped handrail out of wall, the stairs and the bed I purchsed for back surgery they broke (the one person that showed up late - in a pos car, no uniform or even company shirt- no name on anything, no tool box, pants around hips and get this... asked to borrow MY tools)

PULS DID NOTHING TO RECTIFY! Was forced to sleep on my coach after the operation. Had no bed. Have since had to purchased new one from a very expensive furniture store, having them deliver and put together. Out approx 4k at this point.

No longer a viable option for any work in my house!

My first mistake was trying to save 50$ by using Puls, and my 2nd mistake was using them a 2nd time. Fortunately they are very responsive and on time, unfortunately they come ill prepared. The tech showed up not only alone, he was expecting us to help remove the old 75 inch TV from the wall and help hang the new one. Isn't this the point in paying them to perform the work, what if the homeowner was elderly and / or unable to help?

To add to our dissatisfaction, the installer failed to bother cleaning up the sheet rock dust left from adjusting the mounting bracket on the other TV and ended up damaging our custom cut leather granite piece, as well as the fire place screen when he dropped a bracket from the TV mount. But even more disturbing was the fact he cleaned the area afterwards and left without saying a word about it.

So at the end of the day we saved no money on this install, as a matter of fact we LOST money and now have to fix the damages to our house. Any future work like this will done by the big box retailer to ensure there is accountability in the event anything like this happens again.

Edit 5/14: I've updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars. This is because Puls did agree that the $250+ charge for a no-parts button press on a dishwasher, and a hard sell to buy a subscription was unfair, and they refunded us so that the total charge was the initial quoted price of $89. I appreciate their efforts in investigating this with me, and getting to a resolution.
==============
Don't even think about calling these guys. They engage in deceptive and extortionate "sales practice". Their current Director of Customer Success is open about the fact on his LinkedIn that one of his biggest accomplishments is that he, ".increased the company net contribution by launching a Direct to Consumer membership sales program." I would hardly call that an accomplishment when the revenue for that membership program was obtained by deception, and extortion.

We were quoted $89 for a call-out to look at the dishwasher. My husband then went out to get some food. In the minutes he was out, the Puls rep pressed a button on the dishwasher and said he had done a hard reset. He then told me I had to pay $250. If he had told us upfront that, "Oh it's not $89, it's actually $250" I would have told him, "no thank you."

He then said we should just pay for a subscription to Puls (where you can have them visit you for various repairs for a year). My husband had already told him no. I told him no again. He said well we still had to pay the $250 anyway. This was an obvious dodgy sales practice to try to turn a $89 service into an annual membership fee - a real bait and switch. He was a 6'0+ guy who would not leave my house, I am a 5'0 woman and when I pressed him on why we had to pay, he kept repeating the same talk track, "You're just better off paying the $250. It's just better for you. You get all this for a year." He did not even seem to listen to me.

It appears from other reviews that this is Puls' business model - to push people to sign up for their $250+ annual service, which we did not ask for and repeatedly said no to. It astounds me that companies like this are still in business - should have been hauled in to a court for deceptive business practices and extortion.

Avoid.
