Starting with professional service, this is the best storage ever. I've rented several times over many years. From different storage locations however, this one is special and the location is easily accessible. The view from the windows is beautiful. Jackie assisted me She was polite, informative and answered every question. She gave me a tour and showed me to my selected unit, offering a choice of others available. I felt relaxed and welcomed.
This review regards the Public Storage location at 3620 Snell Avenue in San Jose, California *******. My experience with the aforementioned Public Storage faiclity to date has been nothing less than relaxed and stress-free. Lilliana, the facilities office tech/cashier has been helpful and friendly making me feel welcomed. Lilliana is unquestionably a people person who is knowledgeable of Public Storage guidelines and procedures. My storage room is secure and I have never witnessed or experienced anything that would meke me question the safe and secure use of this fascility for my personal property. I have used my Public Storage for almost 2 years. Location 8122 E. Paradise Ln. Vita was my host on rental and was amazingly helpful! She is an asset too the company.
For starters, I scheduled for the wrong day. Customer care refused to redo my reservation for the lower rate and even tried to change the location I had booked at. I called the location ******* and spoke to Vi directly. She reset my reservation and canceled the higher priced one that Customer Care had made. Definitely recommend her to help, moving is stressful enough... she was friendly and helpful from start to finish.

PUBLIC STORAGE IS A $#*!IN RIP OFF. WHEN YOU TRY TO REACH CORPORATE OR THE DISTRICT MANAGERS. NO ONE ANSWERS OR CALL BACK. BUT WHEN YOU ARE LATE ON YOUR PAYMENT ITS A ADDITIONAL $25.00 AND A $50.00 CHARGE IF THEY PUT A LIEN ON YOUR PROPERTY. I BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR OVER 3YRS NEVER BEEN LATE AND ALWAYS MADE MY PAYMENTS UP UNTIL I BECAME ILL. I SPOKE WITH SOME OF THE RUDEST REPS AND HAVE NOT YET SPOKE WITH A MANAGER! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MY DOG TO TAKE A $#*!

On September 9th, I called in. I told the person over the phone that I'm looking for a deal to replace a storage space I have now. She found me a 10x15, climate controlled, drive up space for $86/month. That's much cheaper, so I agreed to leave work early to go in the next day and get my unit before the sale ends. This is a permanent price, not a first month deal, so it was worth the trouble. I did that, wasting 90 minutes and leaving work early to go and walk the space.
First of all, the person was lying, it wasn't climate controlled. But I can get a second floor climate controlled 10x15 for $92. So I walked that one and then went in to sign the papers.
Next, I had to buy their lock. I have a lock on the space I'm vacating, but I was told that I can't leave it without a lock until I move in, so I have to pay $19.99 for a lock. I looked it up, Amazon has the same lock for $7. Anyway, I'm still saving money, so I kept going.
Then comes the switch. That's right, Public Storage is a BAIT AND SWITCH company! I have another, smaller, undiscounted, space at a different facility, and that makes me inelligible for the discount? They want to charge me double what they told me. Of course, the person over the phone who quoted the rate knew about this, but suddenly the next day this is a problem?!?!?!?
I called their corporate number, and the person who spoke with me was rude and unhelpful. Then she said I could hold for a supervisor, but instead she transfered me to a voice mail box. No one has called me back.
This is a breach of verbal contract, it's illegal bait and switch, and it's generally the sign of a crooked company.
