The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

I had made a reservation through priceline for a hotel. When I arrived they would not accept my reservation because the dates listed on the form where incorrect. I never noticed until I got there. We had been traveling all day and it was raining and terrible weather conditions. I have 2 small children and we were so tired. It was 11 p.m., we wanted to sleep so bad. When I arrived at the hotel the guy at the front desk would not help us because the dates had been screwed up and I did not buy them from Holiday Inn. I tried to contact someone to help us switch the dates and no one would help us, I was on the phone for 1/2 hour trying to get help and had 2 small kids crying and upset. It was a completely nerve wracking experience. We ended up walking out of there with no room to stay it. We had to drive all the way home in the terrible weather, tired and hungry. It was the worst experience of my life. The following few days I tried to contact the hotel and the other site to get the issue resolved they would not give us a refund no matter how hard I tried. I would never stay at this hotel if it was the last place on earth. Terrible customer service and of no help to someone who was in a terrible situation.
I just had a bad experience with Priceline. I was trying to bid for a hotel by using "Name your own price" option. Before I bid I looked into the Hotels' stars and area zones according on their address written in Priceline website. I knew and expected the possible hotel I can get from bidding in the areas I selected according on what was available and mentioned when you bid and choose the area you are looking to have a hotel in. Then, I surprised that Priceline booked me a hotel in different area from what I selected, so I called them and asked them to cancel the reservation. They told me that the Hotel they booked for me was within the one of the areas I selected, but looking to the hotel's address tells something different. It tells the hotel is not within the areas I selected. They said that they can't cancel the reservation after I described everything I said here. So, I think that I was fooled.
I liked their customer services. They have very responsible representative.
I tried bidding at least a dozen times, often. It asked for me to key in my credit card, often it asked me to provide my initials and repeatedly I booked NOTHING. That's good because I had used PL many times I the past and eventually found a rate I wanted. This time when I found that acceptable rate I was informed "are you sure you want a same day new reservation, you already booked a vehicle for that same day for..." 4x's as much as I had been willing to accept, and certainly NEvER realized I had!
So what's the smartest course of action contact customer support immediately, it was late at night so I did by chat. 15-20 min later, I'm sorry Sir like I told you, non-cancellable non-refundable! Escalate to direct customer service line, live and the same party line! Escalate to a mgr, much much later same result, bottom line sorry sir we can do nothing, you can do nothing. But I don't have the funds! And I never intended to pay the full rental amount on my friends card! How did that happen? I remember repeatedly being asked how I would pay WHEN I actually got to counter to get car? Now this reservation needs all the more to be cancelled please! Same canned answer I'm sorry sir but non-cancelable nonrefundable! You initialed... you accepted... But, I say for the 100th time, if I knew I had done that, look at my bidding history, why would I have continued to bid for hours?
I get escalated to the Isst stop, supervisor, immediately it's clearly same answer. How can I talk w someone that has the authority to reverse the reservation for Pricelines sake and mine, to create a win win? Sir I'm sorry... I know I know,
Would some one how has authority, someone who cares?.
Does the CEO?
Stu
Bidding vs. booking intentionally similar so that. GOTCHA! Sorry Sir non- vb
I Just recently booked a two night stay in Tuscaloosa, AL (3/4/16). Priceline would not accept my bid which was actually less than the cost of the room if I had gone directly thru the hotel to make the reservation. Was not aware of this until I was reviewing my account and compared to the itinerary. The bid they excepted was actually higher than the cost of the room. Priceline did not serve any purpose for me. I am a very dissatisfied customer. No more Priceline for me. Hard earned income is not to be giving away frivolously.
I have never had a problem w/booking or polite and ready to help.
My son is thousands of miles away studying abroad in South America. He needed a ticket to go to Chile for school studies, so I put the money into his expense account to make the trip. He went on Priceline.com and booked the trip. Priceline sent him a confirmation email that included confirmations of the flights and dates from the airline.
The next day they called him to tell him the Airline had rejected the tickets but they could rebook him for another $300 - ON THE EXACT SAME FLIGHTS! I called the airline who told me they never rejected the reservation - PRICELINE CANCELLED IT! So I got ahold of Priceline, but the people I spoke to (and yes, even the so called supervisor "Eddie" id 2i) are nothing more than script reading morons who either cannot or will not help you. They also will not let you speak to anybody else. This is a pathetic business model, and after we have spent over $10,000 with them in 12 months - they will never see another dime. Dishonest is the only word I can use to describe them on a public forum, be rest assured there are worse words in my mind about them now.
Priceline's travel insurance is a complete joke. When my flight got canceled, they refused to cover me! What do I need insurance for, if not for situations like a cancellation?!?!?!? What a ripoff
We were driving on a long trip, our return date was within 2 days. I asked at the National car rental counter if I brought I back a day early if I could be credited. They said all I had to do was submit the receipt to priceline and they would credit my credit card back, WRONG! Priceline said I could return the vehicle early but they are unable to issue any type of credit back. I spoke with 2 supervisors and got nowhere. I will deal directly with rental car companies in the future unless I have exact return dates.
If you stay the course, you will find a deal you are happy with!
I was new to Priceline and when I chose the date I wanted for a hotel booking, I did not notice that I had to click Update, which would have confirmed the date, and shown a new (higher) price. I ended up with a booking for an incorrect date. I spoke to Priceline via online chat, they told me I would have to ring their partners Agoda, who canceled my booking. Both Priceline and Agoda were friendly and helpful. Agoda put me on hold for a lengthy period but when they came back to me to say that they could cancel the booking, they also confirmed that there was still a room available on the date I needed. I am happy with the service.
I hired them for air travel. They just did fabulous job for me. My last visit to USA was amazing because of them.
I have used priceline.com a number of times. Now they automatically change your star rating when you make your next bid! I tried booking a 2.5 star in an area I travel often,
Pricline automatically added the three star when I did not win the bid and did not tell me! It was the second time this happened! I read the whole page and nowhere does it tell you this will happen. The three star that it put me in was a hotel that is a 1 star this is why I bid the 2.5 star. We have stayed there two times and never ever ever again. Beware Priceline misquotes the star standing of the hotels even after complaining numerous times to Priceline about the hotel after staying having stayed at it. Buyer beware! Do know that if you call the hotel and they agree to cancelling the hotel you can then call Priceline.com and give them the hotel staff name they can then call and cancel it. Never ever again will I use priclein.com
I booked on priceline for a hotel in San Juan, PR for a hotel trip. I did not use the Name Your Price tool, I opted for an express deal. Priceline advertised my hotel as a hotel in the Condado district but in reality it was in another area. When you look this hotel up on the priceline website it clearly says it's not in Condado but in Miramar. I called pricelne not once, but twice to cancel this reservation because they clearly advertised something they did not give me, but all of the representatives said that on their map this hotel is 'technically in the Condado district'. It might be true on their map but it's not on an actual map. The supervisor said to me that when I chose Condado as my area it showed me what they considered Condado, however that is true for the Name Your Price tool not the Express Deal. I was not offered a map to look at. The Express Deal clearly advertised this hotel as "Condado Area Hotel with Casino ". Why would they advertise a hotel being in one area when it's clearly not? Why would they label their map wrong? These people were less than helpful and mockingly apologetic. The supervisor said "Aww, you did't get the hotel in the right area?" like it wasn't a big deal. It is a big deal, how about I offer you a Mercedes like car with leather interior and give you a toyota? Stop falsely advising where your hotels are located! One of the customer service people forgot to mute her phone when she put me on hold and she was laughing and saying the hotel is not in the right area, the map is wrong, like this happens all the time. If this happens all the time maybe they should consider changing their polices? I will never use this crap of a website again!
Thank you Priceline for ruining my vacation.
Offers at priceline are amazing. I really appreciate them for such amazing offers.
I am trying to book a vacation package to see my daughter graduate bootcamp. From the time I hit book it to typing in my credit card number it change price and went up $100 so I try it again now it goes up again $70. The reason that pops up says prices change every second BS! This is a little too fishy for me. Shame on you priceline for ripping people off! WILL NEVER RECOMMEND. PS I didn't book anything thru them.
I used Priceline website to book one hotel night in Avondale, AZ to take my daughter for a medical appointment, I am not familiar with the area. The hotel that this cheap website arrange for me was 25 miles from the hospital plus was a super cheap hotel and dirty with a terrible customer service that I had to pay a extra charge of $20.00 dlls because I requested two queen bed, the guy in the hotel saw us walking the meeting and my 2 childrens and of course that they knew that I didnt have other option than pay extra.
I contacted Priceline very frustrated for the hotel location (Confort INN 1344 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ) hotel service and hotel conditions not good for a sick child, with very bad attitude and of course no willing to help, this lady told me was my fault because I use cheap rate! IT IS WHAT YOU OFFER PRICELINE!. My budget was very tight and unfortunately I was unable to book another hotel close to the hospital location and at least a clean hotel. Was a nightmare, please dont use this site, it is a scam! You offer cheap hotels! With a mask of good deals! Never in my life will book on this site! Terrible experience for me and my kids.
The savings available has changed a bit since 2008, but I still go to PL first when booking a hotel!
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
