The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

We landed in ft LAUDERDALE and went right to thrifty. The line of people wrapped throughout their wrap around line, down a very long hallway then turned a corner for another 30 yards of people. It took us an hr and a half to get to the counter to get ON THE LIST then sent outside to start the WAIT for cars to get returned, cleaned and given to us. Some people here waited till 9pm last night and never got a car. They are projecting a 3-4 hour wait for us now because we are the SHORTEST and easiest car to get. Worst… only food in the area is a Starbucks. Other than that no food, water or even a vending machine. We you wait outside with 100's of hungry, mad people who have lost a day of their vacation Id think if your gonna sell 10x's the cars you have AND get the money on registration then do this to people, the VERY least you can have is cases of bottled water outside for us to drink. Terrible! Terrible! The people who work here are very nice though. Not ugly at all. They say sorry, smile a genuine smile. What else can they do. I'd quit if I were them but I guess that would be worse for the rest of us. I'll never take a "Deal" from thrifty again! Not a deal. It's a day here wasted. I'm giving one star because the staff hasn't quit yet. So
That's something
Priceline is terrible! Books a trip with them in April to go to Greece in July! One of my return flights got pushed back and bumped me off the flight. Did priceline call me? NO! I would of been stranded overseas! Did priceline care? NO! Dont book with them. They are terrible.
I had to cancel a car rental a few days before I was to get it. I contacted them asking for refund and they said I would get it in ten business days. I don't receive it. Contact them again and again and they keep putting me off to different people. Won't tell me when I will get my refund even though I have proof they said they would refund me. So I contact my bank they dispute the charges but then say they lost and I should contact Priceline. So I try contacting Priceline again and they say they can't help me with a refund. They people who took my money can't give it back. I even asked them what did I do wrong in trying to cancel and getting my money back and they couldn't tell me that I did anything wrong. RUN AWAY! Use Expedia or hotels.com because Priceline is only in it for them and to screw the little people out of money! I've never had this kind of experience before.
DO NO BOOK WITH PRICELINE u will regret it. Changing ur flights with no warning, putting u on hold for over 5 hours just to tell you we cant cancel talk to the airline. Incompetent and borderline illegal. SOMEONE SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN. Would give 0 if I could.
Trip number: *******6338
Due to flight delay my rental car booking time was changed from 2pm to 2am. But rental cars was closed 11pm to morning 7am. After reaching airport i don't know how to pick the car before 7Am. Then their customer service only advised please book the other car rental they will accepted for the refund but more than 12 days still they not refunded also they don't know when they will provide my refund. Very poor customer support team in Priceline they don't know anything just waste of time. Never book again...
They offered me a special price for a hotel (Knights Inn Maingate) in Celebration. Fl. Nice pictures on file, clean, looking renovated, but the place was stinky and full of cockroaches! Our belongs got infested!
AND PRICELINE REFUSED TO REIMBURSE! Go to another website, not this crooked place!
BARATAS! Hoteis cheios de baratas e os caras do PRICELINE NAO DEVOLVEM O DINHEIRO!
CUIDADO! LOS LADRONES DE PRICELINE OFRECEN HOTELES LLENOS DE CUCARACHAS Y NO DEVUELVEN EL DINERO! Mejor vaya a otro sitio WEB
O recently booked a hotel and come to find d out there is no contract between the hotel and Priceline now here I am 700 Mike's from home 95 degrees outside and the cheapest hotel is 250 dollars which I dont have so thank you Priceline I will have to sleep in my truck will never purchase another room through them and will soon cut up there credit card
BOOKED IN FEB AND GOT A CALL THE NEXT DAY THAT THE HOTEL WAS OVERBOOKED AND THEY WOULD RELOCATE MY FAMILY SAME PRICE NO CHANGES FOUND A HOTEL AND THEY RELOCATED ME. IN MAY WAS THE TRIP AND WHEN I GOT TO HOTEL THEY SAID THEY ONLY RELOCATED 4 OF THE 7 PEOPLE TO THE HOTEL SO I NEEDED TO PAY 1500 EXTRA FOR THEM UNITL 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS TO SEE ABOUT WHY THE AGENT DID THAT AND GET MY REFUND OF THAT AMOUNT. HAVE BEEN CALLING AND THEY KEEP SAYING THEY ARE INVESTIGATING SINCE MAY 27 WE ARE NOW JUNE 24 AND NOTHING EVERDAY I CALL THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP.
Priceline is now using a non-cancelable tool called 'Pricebreaker' and packaging one low star hotel between more valuable properties. If you buy, you are booked at the 1 or 2-star, not the 3.5 star plus. I didn't even notice they were packaging properties of such different caliber together until I was booked - and of course, no way to get out of it! Priceline is now part of a huge corp. and has totally changed into a BUYER BEWARE company - no longer a viable option. Customer Service - no help - even 30 seconds after booking. Plus, I JUST returned from a trip at a highly rated property that was beyond sketchy! No sleep that night... Used to always use them - not any more!
I bought 2 days rental of a car.
I returned the car a day earlier.
Priceline refused to give me a refund.
I use the car less than 24 hours.
Never again, renting w/ a company.
That only cares about them
I booked thrifty car rental through them. Arrived at the counter and found it closed before their scheduled time. Priceline's response was that they could not do anything. I have had better service from Tripadvisor and booking.com. Much more reputable companies. I am canceling my next reservations through them.
Do not go to Priceline if you are not set in stone about your trip. They will withhold your money and you will beg to get it back. Or not even at all. I had to cancel my reservation after having to change the date. This was plenty of time in advance, about a month away. I had to file a dispute with my bank and after receiving the money back. Priceline made it a point to deny my claim and withdraw the full amount of my hotel 2 months later - $137 and I didn't even get to stay at the hotel! That is so ridiculous that they came to bite me in the $#*! two months later. Is your company that desperate to rip out the funds of someone who didn't even get to fulfill their services? I'm disgusted! They also deduct the money right away, unlike other sites, such as Bookings.com, which charges you 24 hours before your stay, which is fair in that case. Priceline doesn't waste one minute to withdraw the funds, they are on it! They hit me with the policy excuse that I cannot get my refund back and that I should've read the fine print at check-out. I get that. But, mistakes and circumstances happen and you have to have an EXTREME reason as to why you are deserving of your money back. I have never seen anything like that. Absolutely ridiculous- the first and last experience I WILL ever have with Priceline. Management and customer service reps are all mouth-pieces of the company and the whole phone call will be a robotic-based response about their cut-and-dry policy. No human touch or empathy. I've never had this experience anywhere else. I will just stick to Bookings.com. This company will NEVER receive my business and should HIGHLY consider restructuring the customer service experience instead of having an immediate resort to holding the customer's money "hostage" for good. I usually go out of my way to leave great reviews to companies who deserve that recognition, but this negative experience needed to be shared so you can know what to frown upon when your expectations are not met with Priceline.
When I had to cancel my reservation due to circumstances out of my control, Priceline.com agents informed me that I could cancel and receive a refund only if the hotel approved of it. Great. The hotel approved when I was on the phone with them yet Priceline told me the hotel refused. In fact, Priceline told me the hotel had been abusive on the phone. I was horrified and readily accepted that I would not be receiving a refund. Shortly after I got off the phone with Priceline, the hotel staff called me. They told me that Priceline had made a habit of throwing them under the bus in order to avoid refunding customers. Customers would leave negative reviews on the hotel's site, mistakenly believing Priceline when they tarnished the reputation of the hotel.
Horrified yet again, I called Priceline back and waited 40 minutes to speak with someone about this. After an hour of back and forth, they issued me a cancellation and refund. They offered no apology to the hotel, whose actions they are actively harming with their practices.
From here on out, I have learned my lesson. Book directly with the hotel! They are often family owned and do not deserve the stress of dealing with Priceline.com anymore than we, the unfortunate customers, do.
We recently booked a trip to Hawaii through this Agency. Everything went through as expected. Just today 6-14-21, we received an email notice from Priceline stating that our flight schedule has been changed without our consent. The hours we selected, seat numbers, and flight time all were changed WITHOUT notice. Tried to contact them but not successful. This is absolutely unacceptable. Terrible customer service. Strongly not recommend to anyone.
Unhappy customer.
This motel is filthy and a health hazard - stained sheets, moldy floors in corners of room, mold on shower head, heavy smoking by customers outside the room even though smoking is not allowed inside the room, smelly pillows, etc. I had a real concern during COVID-19 to even stay there. I paid $229.23 for this hideous room. My husband, daughter & I were afraid to take showers in the shower because everything was so unclean, and their was a strange film on the shower floor.
Do not use Priceline if you have the smallest issue you will be on hold for days not minutes not hours. You will be told they are not the right person let me get someone who can help with this issue and back on hold. You will do this for days before you give up. Exactly what they want.
We're from SW Ohio. We were visiting Fort Wayne In. We saw the LIBERTY DINER, so we decided to eat there. It turned out to be the BEST restaurant I have ever ate at. The food was delicious, wide selection of food. We stayed in Ft. Wayne for three days and we ate all our meals at LIBERTY DINER, it was so good. The staff was GREAT, and the OWNER (George) was the Best. I just can't say enough about this restaurant. I would give it ten stars if I could. If you're ever in Fort Wayne Indiana. Dine at this GREAT restaurant. You're going to love it
Don't bother. Second time I've used priceline to rent cars and both times they wouldn't let me pick up the car without a credit card. The credit card requirement is dumb since I already paid both times with a debit card, which every other organization on the planet will treat as a credit card. Will not use this company again. The requirement is not clear when renting either. And when I called, they said it's non-refundable, too bad for you, but we need to hang up on you to get to other customers. So I'm out $500 for no other reason than their rental policies are unclear, unrealistic and their service is god-awful. Never again.
I requested that Priceline cancel my rental car or match the going rate. They refused to do so and made me pay almost double the cost because I had reserved a rental car through them. Even though they claim to have the best prices available they charged my $387 for a 2 day rental. When I tried to change it to Avis because they were charging $205 they said no. They would not match the price either.
They should rename their company Price Gouger.
I booked this trip this morning and my sons discharge plans changed. I tried to cancel so I can book the right dates. I bought trip insurance which i was under the impression that it was trip protection not just flight. Also when booking a hotel it says right on the front page of the hotel free 24 hour cancelation. Now I'm out $85 and $20 for worthless trip insurance. What a scam you are running, allowing the hotel to say free cancelation, and not letting us know that is non-refundable until we purchase it. Also this trip was planned 44 days out so its not like it is tomorrow. Very unsatisfied everyone knows the military's plans change at the drop of a hat. How inconsiderate and unprofessional of Priceline.
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
