The overall reputation of the company reveals significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to issues with booking accuracy, hidden fees, and inadequate customer service. Many reviews highlight frustrations with non-refundable reservations and uncommunicated changes, leading to feelings of being misled. While some customers appreciated the initial pricing, the subsequent hidden costs and lack of support during disputes overshadowed these positives. A recurring sentiment is a lack of accountability from the company, prompting numerous customers to vow never to use the service again. This feedback indicates a critical need for improved transparency and customer support practices.

I booked a flight for my daughter through Priceline. I received an itinerary from Priceline. She had to change planes and the itinerary didn't include her arrival times for her to change planes or when she would arrive at her destination - me. I tried calling Priceline customer service at the 800 number but only got recorded assistance even though I kept saying "Representative". I said "Itinerary" and all that happened was the automated system sent me an email with another incomplete itinerary. I simply want a complete itinerary and I have found it incredibly difficult to obtain one from Priceline. I will not book through Priceline again and I am very frustrated and angry.
We were traveling 11+ hours so decided to book a room online through priceline at the Howard Johnson by Windham in Lexington, VA. Upon arrival the hotel staff rushed our check in and sent us on our way. When we opened the door to our room we walked into an infested room with stink bugs high and low and EVERYWHERE! The walls and floor were covered with the stink bugs along with them crawling out of the AC vent. We have 2 small daughters who were petrified. My husband politely went right back down to the desk and asked for a refund. The desk clerk refused us a refund bc we booked on priceline. We grabbed our luggage and left the hotel. I immediately called priceline and they then contacted the hotel. The woman from priceline said they won't refund bc the hotel said we agreed to our stay! We NEVER agreed to paying for a room infested with bugs! This is not ok business practice and we hope this hotel/priceline will be honest with consumers.
On the particular hotel website via their express deal it has the rating as a 3 star but I paid for a 3.5 star. The hotel is old and outdated and It was not listed as one of the hotels you could get when selecting that deal. The dusty hotel will make my bronchitis reoccur and this will be a very uncomfortable stay. The employees were rude when handling my case and I will not use them again.
I am truly disappointed and I shall post this with the screenshots on social media.
Thanks for not helping!
As long as you are okay with not knowing certain details about your hotel stay, for example only knowing that your hotel will be four stars rather than knowing the precise hotel where you will be staying, then Priceline is a great way to book hotel stays for cheap. It is used for other things as well such as airfare, but I have not used it for that purpose as of yet. Buyer beware: make sure you read the instructions before putting your credit card information! You get a great deal, but make sure you know what you are buying
The worst. Don't book. April in customer service was not helpful. Just kelp saying saying the conversation was unproductive and disconnected.
Booked a trip to Florida a month ago for Travelodge by Wyndham through Priceline. Hurricane Ian decided to visit on the day prior to my checkin date. I could not reach them on the phone. Called Priceline. No help and no refund. Travelodge had no phones, no electricity, and no water. I will never do business with Priceline or Travelodge by Wyndham. Expensive lesson.
They quote prices and when you arrive at the vender it is triple the rate quoted. I have had numerous issues with this company that have gone unresolved. Customer service is nonexistent.
If you have any issues with Priceline, go to the Better Business Bureau. They will help. Calling Priceline Customer Service is a waste of time, and to make matters worse, the agents have terrible English. It's outsourced over seas. Not in the U.S.A.
I made a mistake in booking the hotel and I immediately called the hotel and explained the situation asked for the procedure for a refund. I was told a refund would be approved and to call priceline. I called priceline (name of operator unknown) and explained the situation. I was emptathized with and told that even though the purchase isn't refundable, that an exception could be made in a situation like this as long as the hotel agrees. I was put on hold a bunch of times while priceline tried to reach out to the hotel. This was unsuccessful so I was told priceline would confirm refund status in a few days. I found out today I won't be refunded even though parties at that time agreed I'd have one. I immediately recognized the mistake at booking and needed help to rectify the issue and priceline failed me. I'm very disappointed and I'll probably encourage my friends and loved ones to use other platforms in the future if the issue isn't rectified. This was an unfair outcome I won't forget.
My husband had hired a car from dollar rental for 4 days 19th to the 22nd of August, 2022 through Priceline. He picked up the car on the 19th at Burlington, Vermont and drove it to a remote part of Vermont where he was attending a wedding. On the 20th when he woke up he noticed a flat tire. Called the Dollar rental car company up and they told him they were sending a tow and that they could not get a replacement to him that he would have to uber it to the airport where they would give him a replacement car and refund him the uber money. My husband booked an uber but it did not come due to the remote location. On returning to the airport, my husband talked to the dollar rental people at the counter as he had been charged by priceline on his credit card the whole amount for 4 days and they said that he would get his money refunded for 3 days to talk to priceline. For one month now after going back and forth between priceline and dollar rental we were told by priceline that as per their policy they could not refund our money back. Do not rent a car through this website and the rental company they are all crooks.
I wish there was a zero star for Priceline, as it is how I would rate them. I booked a bundle trip to the Dominican Republic a month ago through Priceline. However, due to the hurricane, I must cancel the trip three days before departure. We contacted the hotel, and they agreed to cancel without charge. However, the hotel cannot operate it through their website and requested us to cancel it through the agent. When we called Priceline, they denied the free cancellation and insisted on charging us for one night. They ignored the agreement from the hotel, severe weather conditions, and possible airport closure. The focus of the 20 mins conversation was to charge me regardless of circumstances. I don't see integrity and respect in this incident. They take advantage of people in disadvantaged situations. This has been a valuable lesson for me. Priceline, you can take $250 from my credit card once, but I guarantee you this is the last time you have my business. If trust and loyalty are how much you see in a customer, you got it.
I had a trip planned to JAX Florida and received an email from the airline indicating that due to Ian, would more than likely not be able to fly out and that we could adjust our travel plans without a fee. Long story short, they would not refund the money for the Car Rental or the return flight. On the first flight, they did give credit. Two men, John and Jay couldn't speak much English and I asked to speak to a supervisor and they wouldn't transfer. Denise was good she was patient and she is the one who gave the credit on the first flight. I did escalate it to a supervisor and she did transfer to a supervisor, Angel was able to get the rental car fee taken care of, she had to transfer me to another department to try and take care of the flight with American Airlines, and I spoke to M Julia MI she was no help. It didn't matter from the email from American Airlines. Now I have to see if American Airlines will work. I would NEVER recommend Price Line, they take up valuable time and still want to steal from you! Stay clear!
On 9/24/22
I rented a vehicle thru Priceline.com and National car rental. I was in a hurry because l had to work and my vehicle broke down. Priceline approved my debit card for a 7 day rental but once l got to National rental car they would not take my debit card and said they need a major credit card. When l called priceline back" they told me my money was non refundable and l didn't read the fine print before l booked the vehicle.
NO MONEY BACK. NO PRODUCT.
I think Priceline should not except a bank card without you presenting a major credit card. I'm sure this will happen to more people in the future.
Priceline customer support is worthless. I was on a chat for over an hour to just have my email address changed on my account profile and they still couldn't help. I called the hotline number and I couldn't get past the prompt to enter a reservation or phone number. There products may be ok, but support is horrible.
1. Significant hidden upcharges - theres no "best rate", I paid $50+ more per night after I saw the bill from the hotel.
2. Good luck getting anyone from US on the phone, all their CS people offshore and are robotic, reading from script, filled with "Sorry" and do not help- voiced a safety concern with a hotel all i got was "thank you for notifying and we are sorry"
3. Endless CS queues with no assistance, no taking responsibility/accountability
JUST GO DIRECTLY THROUGH HOTEL/CAR RENTAL and youll get better pricing and better service!
I stayed at Travelodge North in Fort Wayne and received poor customer service, my car was towed for no reason and was refused a refund when i checked out
I called Priceline to cancel my reservation and they told me that they can't with bad service. Please don't reserve under their website.
I bought a packaged deal for a trip with my family, and I paid over $2,000. I paid for a flight, hotel, rental car, and they advertised it as a packaged deal but there were almost $1,500 additional chargers in hotel and airline fees for a prepaid vacation when I went to check-in at the airport and hotel. When I went to check in the hotel it said I paid for 1 night even though I paid for 4 nights in advanced. I also had to pay for seats to be together, but they weren't together on the flights.
If you cancel a trip and rental
car. In order to get back a full refund, you must cancel both. If you cancel the flight only you will not get back all of it. The customer service is horrible. I had to speak to 5 people to get the refund. Also, if you are not signed in at the time of booking you will not be able to add the trips for rewards. I'm looking for another platform.
Priceline's advisors are completely useless. They have no idea of the conditions or quality of a hotel that they recommend. Our latest encounter was with their review and recommendation of the Knights Inn in Gallup New Mexico. The ad said that it had a great staff to tend to your needs they had breakfast a pool and a clean environment.
On arrival at this location as soon as you walked in the door you noticed a very strong smell of mildew. At the desk there was nobody attending a phone to pick up and call somebody to come talk to you through the plexiglass. On the ceiling above the desk the pain is bubbled up and peeling. The whole Lobby is dirty the kitchen tables and chairs are stacked on top of each other because it is closed. Even though it says it comes with free breakfast there is nothing to eat at this hotel. It also advertises a swimming pool which has a big sign on the door that is also closed. We went to our room and walked in the first thing we noticed was a dirty towel on the counter and unwrapped used bar of soap. Next to the sink a bug was crawling across the wall and they were black drops of something in the caulking next to the sink. On inspection of our bed in between the mattresses where the Red Dot telltale signs of bed bugs. As we used a Priceline advisor to book this reservation he steered us away from a better Hotel to say this was a great deal and a great place to live. As the Priceline call center is not even in the US nobody at Priceline has or knows anything about the quality control of the hotels they promote. The only way Priceline would refund the prepaid Hotel fee was with permission from the hotel owner. I will never ever ever in my life book through Priceline or prepay for a hotel again!
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
