I love the gym! But today I went there and tried to sign in with their touchless sign-in scanners. I apparently scanned my card on the wrong sort of scanner, even though it was right there, facing me on the counter. The lady who worked there was like, "Excuse me, ma'am? MA'AM? It's this one!" And I felt like an idiot. Epic fail.
I thought it was supposed to be a judggment free zone. Im from Nebraska, and I love the equipment and locations. But, the staff feels like if they were piked up from the street with no maners or respect for customers, these people need to learn proper manners and etiquette when talking or dealing with customers. I've heard many of the staff members judging clients, and the trainers behave themselves if they are entitled to do whatever they want. One of them has a huge belly and acts as if he was a Greek God, demeaning customers at the same time staring at females in a leud manner. I changed location, hoping it was an isolated matter, but had similar experience at this new location, so I ended up cancelling my membrship. My advice for this company is to hire properly trained staff, and give them lessons on customer relations.
Planet Fitness does not notify you about anything regarding upcoming withdraws from your account. I froze my planet fitness for 3 months due to medical reasons and the virus. I did not receive any reminder about it ending (as 2020 has already been difficult for me and everyone else to worry about a gym charging your account without courtesy) and was charged. My medical conditions have not changed nor the virus so I still am not comfortable going to the gym. Also, they did not remind me that it was time for my annual fee and charged my account. It is a scam. I would totally stay with Planet Fitness if they didn't charge me so much during this time because its hard enough. I expected decency at least to do so and think about others or at least pretend.

Sneaky business practices. No customer service. A fading business scamming any way to charge your bank account or credit card.
Planet fitness will destroy your health.
Avoid planet scam. Go to a local, more personal gym that doesn't damage their customers financial accounts.
It seems like given any reason to close the gym does! I understand the covid but it's been months and still can't ever work out because it's always closed I joined because it was a 24 HR gym but they still charging same price! If you are looking for a 24hr gym that's going to be opened go elsewhere.
I wish I had gotten the name of the little snot that refused to cancel my membership when it's for severe health issues. If I had known they would make me come in during a plague, when I'm incredibly high risk, and then refuse, I would have contacted the BBB first. I have NEVER had such a horrible experience as with Planet Fitness. Have you dealt with insurance company? They're a treat compared to PF. You have to deal with only the local franchise and I've met ONE person in TWO YEARS that wasn't rude and/or inept. Think twice before you have anything to do with this horror show of a company - ANY other gym, even in a prison, would have to be an improvement. I really, really hope people check the reviews and take them seriously or they will absolutely regret it.
I have been a member of Planet Fitness for awhile now. I believe Planet Fitness has benefits, such as low cost, and great facilities that are local to where I live.
Despite "PF" benefits I do believe corporate management is using the coronaviris as an excuse by cutting membership hours to less than 24 period.
I tried searching for applicable state and federal laws regarding health and fitness memberships, but I could not find any for the state of Virginia.
I believe if the corporate could still provide safety for the public will what members did sign up for a 24 hour, similar to a reduced hours gym. I believe their decision is based on saving money not providing access as
Members agreed to.
Durning the virus, they were awesome. They froze accounts. I called to downgrade my membership and it ended up being cancelled after they charged me for a black membership. Not sure what is hard to understand but this is not a good experience. I was not sure what they did because they charged me the black membership. I called and was told, they did cancel. Don't understand why
So after 4-5 months of not open my membership expired but for some reason they decided to charge my cc for renewal with out asking if I wanted to then they charge my cc again for monthly dues with out asking the company are thrives and cannot be trusted with your private info Stay Away far better fitness centers that have respect for there customers
I am very upset with Planet Fitness because I saw a charge of $31 on my bank account and I didn't even know it was reopening. They say they sent out emails but they have my number. They could have just as easily called or texted me. I wasn't even thinking about going back to the gym. During this pandemic, you wouldn't catch me in there with a hazmat suit! And since I'm not working now, that $31 could have gone toward food or something I actually use! And why the no refund policy? That seems a bit fraudulent to me. And if that isn't enough, I have to either go in to Planet Fitness or go to the post office to send through certifiable mail a request to cancel my membership! I just think the whole situation was handled quite poorly and I will be warning everyone on every platform to beware of ever joining Planet Fitness!
Planet Fitness charge my card for 42.00 claiming this is an annual fee. I only been signed up for 2 or 3 months. Monthly fee is suppose to $10.00 + they are going to bill my card again on the 17th. I wanted a refund and to cancel the membership and was told I couldn't get a refund because the charge has already went through. I also cancelled the membership today. So pretty much they stole $42.00 and don't want to refund me. Don't automated charge with Planner Fitness and there was no email regarding this charge.
Walked in to Planet Fitness in February to cancel membership and was told I needed to do that online.
I got online, and it only let's you change level of membership- not cancel. Of course, went back in person but gym was closed from covid-19. At that point, app was not letting me access any changes since they were temporarily not billing due to covid. Fast forward to July 17, I get $23 monthly fee out of bank account. Then 2 weeks later, Aug 3, another $43 deduction for annual fees. I called gym stating my annual renewal date was in April and I've been trying to cancel membership since before then as to avoid the fee. But was told theres nothing they can do about it. I was very upset about $66 out if my bank account within a 2 week period, for something I was unable to cancel or contact for 3 months because they were closed. However then,"since I was upset and so they could accommodate me, the girl said she COULD go ahead and cancel my membership". But I thought I had to come in to do that?
The take away is, Apparently they give you the run around to not let you cancel, so you keep getting billed. Yet can adjust the policy when convenient to them. If course, any refund is "out of their hands and "per contract" the annual maintenance fee cannot be refunded. Despite my efforts the past 6 months to avoid this situation. And, there have been no correspondence stating when billing was to resume after closing for covid. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
My husband received a call from this 3rd party collection agency telling him he had to pay for his membership which we sent an email through the PF website and called our local gym nearby with no return call or email response according to their voice mail recording we would receive. Our State Governor ordered a stay at home lock down and made it very clear that businesses should not be charging for membership fees. I let them know that if they want me to take them to the Attorney Generals office and report them, they have another thing coming.
Whew... they actually did it! Planet fitness now wants members to wear a mask while actively working out. I believe someone in their higher ups requires psychiatric care! I remember hearing how the company lost so much money staying closed during the lockdowns, I guess they wanted to put that final nail in the company's coffin. Let's face it, how many people will agree to cover their face while breathing heavy and/or sweating? Maybe some for awhile, but I'm sure they will all grow tired of it and search out a different gym. Hmm. Treadmill while masked.? Sounds like fun! Why didn't they think of it sooner.?! The Planets party is definitely over!
I was charge a yearly membership a couple of days ago. Went to cancel my membership since my wife will not go there due to their covid protection. The manager who would not give me any name other than Mark would not refund the fee. He told me if I would have come in 5 days ago I could cancel without the yearly membership. Would not refund or give me any corporate contact.
I have been a member for 4 years. In all that time I have had a mostly positive experience at planet fitness. But today that all changed. Today out of nowhere I was banned. I was banned because I don't believe in cleaning equipment. They don't pay me to clean equipment. I pay them to allow me to come and exercise. They have employees that they pay whom should be doing all the cleaning.
Without any notice at all I was banned. I came in to work out a few days ago and I had not been in the gym for 5 minutes and yet 4 people complained that I hadn't cleaned any equipment. Well I'm sorry if I just don't feel like I am responsible for that.
I am very annoyed that I was treated this way and will glady never return. Gonna set up my own personal gym.
They criminals it's all Mexicans with bad records they put There: they just want your bank account to get your details and take your money anytime they want... they took my money 3times a week. They are criminals I got trespass because I called cops on them. This a plano store by collincreek mall. They just want you bank info to take your money. I need my money back and I will get it by all means! Criminals poor service
Our city(Twin Falls, ID) just got a Planet Fitness this last November (2019). The first month was a free trial, free membership for the first month. When December came along I found out I was Pregnant, and cancelled my Membership with associate, Amanda, the 10th of December. I was charged the 17th of December, 2019, my last/first black card membership fee. Here come the first of 2020, I get charged $41.34. I called to try and get this charge resolved, for 6 days now, and was told by Amanda (The associate) that SHE was the Manager and that she was getting my refund as we spoke on the phone, and I let her know I'd be off work in an hour to sign paper work. I get to our planet fitness location and I was informed she was not the manager and that the actual manager keeps calling in sick. It is now the 7th of January 2020 and I still haven't talked to a proper manager nor received a refund for a membership I didn't use. I'm hoping to get this resolved today, if it doesn't I will need contact with corporate and will be going to the bank for fraud. Be cautious of your membership, and the deceiving associates that come with it!
I went to the planet fitness this morning and I met Balil Griffin And I had the most amazing experience ever and he was really attentive and he showed me around the facility and made me feel so welcome. I will definitely definitely keep attending this planet fitness because this experience has been such a comfortable and pleasing experience and I'm definitely going to continue sharing my business here.
Once you sign up you cant get out without paying through the $#*!. Tried to contact them and ask how to quit after our year long agreement was up and you get this dumb automated response... for my wife and I to quit it is $108! That is nonsense. What a crap company!

Per the agreement, in order to cancel a membership, a member must either go to the club in person to fill out a cancellation form, or send a letter (preferably via certified mail) to the club, requesting cancellation. Please note: Memberships cannot be cancelled via fax, phone, or email.
The processing of this cancellation request is subject to any agreement obligations. For more information, please refer to the membership agreement or call your home location. If your membership has a 12 month commitment and you wish to cancel at any time before the commitment is met, you may pay a $58 buyout fee to do so. If you wish to cancel after the 12 months have been met, the buyout fee would not apply. The membership does continue monthly after the commitment is met, until you cancel the membership.
If you are sending a letter, please call the club to verify that your membership can be cancelled at this time. Please be sure your cancellation request (and any payments owed) are received on or before the 10th of the month, if you do not wish to be billed in the same month on the 17th. Cancellations would need to be received by the 25th of the previous month to avoid responsibility for the annual fee on the 1st.

Answer: They charge your card without knowing. Then don't refund it. Even also they will damage your credit rating. What a disappointment.
Answer: They come to work with a chip on their shoulder. They do not acknowledge that clients make their business. Instead,they belittle clients to try to cut clients down to their size. They are neurotic and mean and,of course, unprofessional.
Answer: No there is definitely no other similar companies to planet fitness prices
