Users express frustration over losing access to their photos unless they pay, with complaints about poor customer support and a cumbersome user interface. Changed terms of service, held photos hostage unntil additional payment recceived. NEVER trust them with your photos, they could again get greedy, shut down access to your photos and demand more $$$. Very untrustworthy company.

Contacted them about it the day it happened but they only got to me a day later saying they can't refund because it took longer than two days for me to contact them (which it didn't because I contacted them on the 26th) and I understand if this was because I didn't like photobucket but I requested a refund because THEY MADE A MISTAKE AND CHARGED ME TWICE FOR THE MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP. So basically they stole money from me and I won't be getting it back. $#*! these people

If you are not one of these idiots who rate Photo Bucket more than one star, read this: I think it is a good idea to bring a lawsuit against these morons who own the site!

Okay there was something seriously wrong with Photobucket. It was slow, clunky, and images kept disappearing and re-appearing. However, I contacted them and they told me to log into their new site. I did, and it looks much better and seems responsive enough. (My old rating was a 1 star, but I am editing it now to 5 stars because they obviously put in some effort to make this site work again)

PB has locked me out of my account. I've been paying $2.99 per month for a few years. I tried to get in a few months ago. They take weeks to answer an email. I'm still locked out. It's like extortion. They want $$$ to open the account and give me access to my pictures. I would advise against starting any business relationship with them.

Once they have your info... good luck to you!

If you decide to start a subscription, plan on spending your days trying to stop it. I first contacted the company Photobucket and requested a cancellation which was no big deal, wait for it, they keep charging your card. So I contact them and tell them they are still charging the card and I request they stop processing the charges since I canceled. The only problem is they "cannot locate my account" as it was canceled. Not through email or though name so they say I can't be charged because there is no account in their records., This continues for several months. I then contact the Credit Card company who says I need to take it up with Photobucket. After explaining their story that the account doesn't exist, the credit card company credits me back the charges, makes a notation in my account showing Photobucket is making unauthorized charges, and issues me a new card number. Guess what happens the following month... yup, Photobucket charges the new card AND IT IS FOR AN INCREASED AMOUNT. What a freaking scam. The credit card company says to contact Master Card for a "merchant lock". After an hour on the phone, Master Card tells me they don't do merchant locks and I need to contact my credit card company. I'm not sure if I will ever get away from the Photobucket scam short of closing my account with Master Card, but I do know for every minute spent trying to stop the ongoing charges, I will match with minutes spreading the word about the Sham of a company called Photobucket.

What a miserable website. Words can not accurately express how pissed off I am about this garbage place. The website is clogged to the brim with huge ads, overly complicated support and help pages with virtually no information that is useful. Album links will randomly stop working on pages, have to constantly log out and log back in.

Burned again!
February 28, 2020

I was unable to access my paid account for almost 6 weeks earlier this year. It was finally restored and worked okay for a short while. For the last three days though, my images are "now you see them, now you don't". Photobucket is unreliable and and inconsistent and treat their customers in a shameful manner. In the "real" world, this business would not last 2 weeks. It's a damned shame and a sham and I feel like a fool for ever getting involved with these pirates. Run, don't walk away from these charlatans!

When you ask for you own property back, they tell you you can get them back if you download them 1 image at a time. WORST COMPANY EVER! I lost an entire YEARS worth of photos because of this crappy company. PLEASE, PLEASE don't do business with these crooks!

The epitome of "Extortion"!
The once about a time, best code generator site
Now you have to fight for everything, just to retrieve your old photos
Got an account pre-2008 in good faith, now they hold my Video & Photos Hostage
Would love to see a class action lawsuit against them, this is opposite of love thy neighbor
I'm so upset losing so many memories I now can't share, w/o paying the ransom, they can go to Hell
(This review sugarcoated to keep it PG) ~ God bless you all who are victims too, and refuse to pay the ransom

Absolute. Crap.
January 31, 2020

PB used to be the PREMIERE image hosting site like 10 years ago. And it still operates like it's 2009. It is complete shet on mobile. It is complete shet on a desktop. Nothing on the site works correctly or consistently. I have a couple hundred photos hosted there. It's taken me 3 HOURS just to delete 80 of them because pb keeps randomly unselecting some and restoring whole pages of previously deleted pics. Why would anyone pay for that kinda crap?

I logged into my Photobucket about 7 months ago to recover old photos & was immediately sent to a "Pay for our Premium" screen stating I had to manage my account because it was over extended. Believing this to be a requirement to continue, I merely looked through the Premium options, but did not complete the transaction. I quickly realized it was not a requirement, then checked my account to confirm that I was signed up for premium; assured that I was still under the label "Free Account", I downloaded my old photos & went on my merry way. I SHOULD have checked my PayPal, but I use it for so many small things & subscriptions that I didn't notice the reoccurring charges until a few months had passed. Once I did, I went directly into my account to cancel the subscription, but again was shown a "Free Account" screen under the account details. Confused & angry, I emailed Photobucket about the issue & NEVER HEARD BACK (shocking/s). I then went to the PayPal to dispute, but as I am currently in the middle of a move, missed the escalation date & was charged YET AGAIN! I couldn't shut down the reoccurring charges until I contacted PayPal DIRECTLY... This company has taken $34.93 from me for a service they aren't even actually providing me! Stay away, they are scammers!

Pathetic
January 6, 2020

I've had a photobucket account for over 10 years now, it was my main space to save photos I wanted to have available with me wherever I went. At the time, the website was still growing, and the need for funds to keep the website going was understandable. There was a lot more freedom on the site, and I enjoyed using it immensely.

Now it's riddled with ads, restricted, user-unfriendly, and terribly greedy. Instead of keeping with the times and the competition, (Google, Deviantart, IMGUR, etc.) it instead paywalls the photos I want to keep, significantly reduced storage space for accounts, and even made it extremely tedious to download the photos gathered by making it impossible to download more than one photo at once. So here I am, downloading 1 photo at a time on each album, waiting on each page to ensure that each photo downloads successfully (because if you go to the next picture too quick before the website recognizes you want to download it, it will skip that photo).

The website has gone down the toilet, the morons running it aren't improving it in anyway, servers are slow if you want to download photos quickly (and I'm sure they do that on purpose so downloading it makes it more tedious and forces people to pay the premium instead because it would be "too much work"), and it's just overall bad.

People, there are better sites out there, with better support, improved tools, great service, and way more storage. Don't settle for this crap, don't pay their premium. Even if you have thousands of pictures to download one at a time, I promise you will feel so much better to be free from the chains of the corporate idiocy that is this website. People deserve better, and Photobucket says otherwise.

CEO, Ted Leonard, is a douche bag. I have been a photobucket CUSTOMER for years, and have continued to pay their fees as they were regularly jacked-up. Well, no more, there are alternatives. I would love to reduce my Photobucket storage requirements but they provide no efficient tools for doing that. You have lost your customer base with the stunts you have pulled. When I log on now, all I get are ADS, none of my photos. Suck it, Photobucket!

Nagging Nonsense
December 26, 2019

I used Photobucket for years, before having the ability to use virtual storage. Now it's an effort to even log into my account in order to get to my photos, and they don't make it easy to download my photos to use another service or put them on my own PC. They keep trying to force me into a plan and won't let me into my own account.

And I can't even navigate from page to page on a regular basis. What would I be paying for? Absolute garbage.
