Collecting data from public sources and presenting it is a good thing for consumers. But what do you all offer to differentiate yourselves from the many other public aggregation internet sites out there? You don't. Or you do but in a deceitful manner.

You summarize your findings so that people with different middle initials are tricked into paying for a membership only to find out in the details that your name is summarized with someone else who has a different middle initial; and that your report doesn't mention the severity of the offense. You don't classify the offenses into misdemeanor traffic offenses or felonies. People don't care about misdemeanor traffic offenses, they care about whether someone is a felon: a murderer, kidnapper, rapist etc. You need to summarize based on first, last, middle initial as well as whatever the standard is. I wish I could give you F$^%S a negative five stars. You could easily make these changes but you choose not to and have made the calculation that it is more profitable to mislead the consumer.

Signed up for a trial with 3 different websites: Instant Checkmate, Persopo, and PeopleFinders to see what I could find. They mostly seemed to have about the same information. What I liked about this website is that because I mixed up the days I ended up being put into the monthly rate by all of them! When I called up ICM they ended up passing me around to at least 10 people before someone could issue a partial refund which is absolutely ridiculous! Over a week later I'm STILL waiting for some manager to call me back with the supposed resolution. Had a similar but not as dramatic interaction with PF, only had to yell at 4 people to get my money back. With these guys, I spoke with 1 girl. She listened to my mixup went to talk with her supervisor, came back and had the permission to give me a full refund! I wasn't transferred even once! This speaks volumes and I will NEVER go anywhere else! Love these guys <3

I called customer service and to my surprise unlike many companies and organizations I was able to speak to a human being and not a computer. Customer service was easy to reach. I was recently a victim of Identity theft. The retailer (Target, the perpetrator used my name and SSN to purchase a Target Red Card and made purchases online) gave me information about the fraudulent account to include a shipping address used for online purchases. Persopo helped me make a connection with the shipping address to someone I work with (the suspects grandfather lives there). It was money well spent!
Persopo really backs up everything they advertise.

I did a trial ($1.00) on someone I know has a criminal record in our county. The search came back in minutes and provided four pages on criminal record. Problem is, same incidents are reported multiple times, there is no sorting whatsoever, and it is necessary to go through record by record to make sure the birthdate, etc. was correct and the information was for the correct person. In some cases, no birthdate is given, so checking is difficult. In the end, I got no information beyond what I already knew... but the information gained was extremely messy to deal with. Ya get what ya pay for.

I was weary about using such a website but figured I'd give it a try. I was immediately charged the $19.95 despite being offered a free trial for a $1.
The only information I received from my searches was their names, age and town. It's been well over a week and I still have no other information despite knowing a couple of them who have marriage licenses, divorce records and even criminal records. Sent an email to cancel my subscription and within 2 days had a response that my account was cancelled and my card would no longer be charged.
Pretty good deal for them though - get $20 from each person even if they cancel right away

I was glad when I used persopo.com I didn't look for any of its reviews be it bad or good. I find their service on top quality and I can assure you that it is not a scam like what other people are claiming. It was all thanks to them that my aunt won't suffer traumatic experience from a hardcore guy that she was planning to date. I knew that the guy was on to something bad and has a lot to do with crimes so I checked his arrest records and we found out that he was involved a lot in extortion, sexual assault and sexual harassment against minor boy. Can you imagine that? My aunt dating a homo? Anyways thanks to this site my aunt avoided a traumatic experience against a lunatic.

Ditto! Do not have anything to do with this company! I thought I was signing up for one month unlimited access, that is so misleading! Turns out I signed up for being billed on a monthly basis to have access to their data base which produces no more info than you can find by doing a white pages search! I didn't even want to go any further with the customer service person to find out how (and how much) to produce an actual meaningful report. She kept telling me to refine my search. Well, I put in names to 'test' the site that would have produced reports and still nothing! She said she cancelled my membership and that I should only be billed for one month - - we'll see. She refused to refund my money, they clearly don't have a satisfaction guarantee. Do yourself a favor and just stay away from this company, if you can call it that. I will be reporting them to the BBB. I suggest others do the same. (I had to give the company one star for my review to be accepted otherwise I would have given no stars!)

DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY. WON'T GO INTO DETAILS BUT SPOKE WITH 'CHRIS' WHO WAS A SUPERVISOR IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. HE CALLED ME A LIAR AND WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. I CALLED A MONTH AGO TO CANCEL AND WAS TOLD I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED - BUT I WAS. AGAIN, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Don't use this site. They were able to provide no more information that what I could find in the white pages. They said it would take 72 hours for other information to populate. A week later, there was still nothing other an address.

My name is Matthew, I find the complaints against this company moronic! The website tells you everything about their service when you sign up and if you have half a brain and actually read what you are signing up for before you do any searches you will know what to expect! Personally I have searched up several family members and was able to reconnect with my father whom I have not seen in over 20 years! Yes these things are public records and yes some information from the wrong people gets put in there but so what? Google finds random wrong people too! Next time you go to ANY site just read those things you accept, the terms are no different than a credit card you better know what things cost and are for before you complain about something not working just because you are stupid!

This is such a SCAM! On the night of Sept. 20 I purchased a trial use for 5 days for $1.00. Of course i had to give my credit card # and agree to their terms. Other than traffic violations, all the subjects i wanted to check out showed no information with a message "this report may take up to 72 hours to process". I called the company this morning (9/25) to cancel my subscription and was told I had already been charged for one month. I was told that they go by "actual days" and NOT 24 hour, or FULL days, for billing purposes. After much complaining they agreed to refund 1/2 of the amount charged and give me unlimited use of their service for one month. I went on the site to check out the information that was supposed to take 72 hours to process and, guess what -surprise, surprise- the info i requested still says i have to wait 72 hours for it to be updated. ABSOLUTELY no additional was available. As with the first attempt the only info available was traffic violations. No property, marriage/divorce, birth/death, or any other info was available EVEN IN MY OWN NAME. And i have a very unusual name--in fact all the options that appeared for my name were ME. DON'T USE THIS SERVICE!

Non-FCRA companies like this one are fake. You're not only paying for less info than what's available on a Google search, but you're paying for WRONG info. These assclowns and all their scumbag buddies have me listed as a 66yo pedo in California and my sister listed as a MAN. I've reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.
