I searched for my marriage license on Persopo. The site came back with one for my maiden name and my home address at the time, but then showed a marriage license for someone who is not me.The person definitely never lived at my address and the marriage was 25 years before I was even born.

I emailed Customer Support and never got a response.
I tried repeatedly to call and talk to someone on the phone about this. I did get what I thought was a live person, but he said he could no hear me. I called back several other times, and always got the same person, saying the same thing. I believe it was a recording! I could never get anyone online, regardless of which of their options I selected. Persopo Customer Support appears to be non-existent!

Tonight I tried to call again, selected option 3 (to cancel my account) and was about to hang up after a LONG silence when someone came onto the line. She told me I need to wait 72 hours before checking the account to get the information I need. Well, it's been 3 days, and the report is still the same, and still inaccurate. Customer Support told me they are giving me 50% back. I strongly suspect this won't happen. But the fact that Persopo is keeping the other 50% says to me that the company is a scam company. I am very disappointed and will try to get my marriage certificate another way.

I strongly recommend everyone avoid this company.

I tried this site along with two others. This site showed much less information than the other two sites and it was very hard to cancel. They say you can cancel at any time, but don't tell you how to do it. I tried to cancel after a month by going on line, but could not find a way to do it, so I called a number on their website. I asked how to cancel and spoke to the rudest/meanest Customer Service Rep. Ever. I told him I wanted to cancel and he asked if I had I tried to do it online and I said I had. He asked how I tried and I asked if I had to go through all that and could he just cancel it for me? He kept asking me the same questions over and over. When I told him he already asked me those questions 3 times he said I was being rude and raising my voice and he didn't have to talk to me if I was going to do that and wouldn't stop yelling at me. So, I hung up. It was very disturbing.

If I could give a zero star rating, I would, I would have been much better off doing the research myself. The general information I got from their service was accurate, but all other records pertained to everyone else but me. When I called customer service I was given to know that it would take up to 72 hours to get back the results. But even then I would have to provide a lot more information than I was led to believe would have been necessary. The bottom line, this was a scam, as defined by advertizing one thing and delivering another thing!

I've tried numerous times to make telephone contact with this company, option 3 to cancel gets disconnected every time. I finally canceled my credit card.

Buyer beware. I just got off the phone with a jackhole named Elijah (maybe?) from Persopo that attempted to treat me like a bafoon that has no life experience. Literally screaming at, and talking over me through the entire 40 minute "conversation".

Their practice is to promise that you will get search results within 3 days of an inquiry. This is a lie. I was remiss in that I didn't cancel the membership immediately. They took my $19.97 per month for two years after I tried to cancel after six months. I'm going to attempt to get a Charge Back against this company for what they have fraudulently taken from me.

All I can say is, read reviews, go anywhere but here to seek historical information on anyone that you need REAL info on. This is info from another disconcerting review that I cut and pasted here.

These are serial bad actors here. Using data as a weapon against anyone seeking a private online presence.

Garbage results, do your self first to see if they have ANYTHING. They didn't have my marriage, divorce, spelling of name correct

I contacted the Kansas Attorney General and private legal council after their failure to remove info. I've been trying for almost a year and have called and sent numerous emails

This company will bill you until the end of time even if you do not use them, this is one of there business strategies to not contact you and they hope you forget to cancel as I did. They have no obligation to say hey your account is not being used do you want to continue your subscription. So they thrive on this tactic. Be careful and watch your credit card statement closer.

I had the same bad experience as others. Automatically started billing me $19.95 per month. Couldn't cancel online. Didn't notice it for a few months. Rude customer service. No refund. The worst company I've experienced in a long time.

Despite numerous requests for information removal (Opt Out) over a 2 month period, my information is still viewable.

The won't let you remove your information from their website. I have tried multiple times through their official channels and they will not remove my information. They should be shut down.

Followed opt out process 3 times between January 10,2022 and March 15,2022. Each time, I received a nice reply with a case number and an assurance that my information would be deleted soon. I check each week and it has never been removed.

I have pending complaints with BBB, complaintsboard.com, FTC and FBI.
May all guilty parites be punished to fullest extent of the law. And also, public flogging for the evil CEO.

The info at persopo.com was completely worthless in that it didn't provide any info other than addresses and old phone numbers. There were no court records, no marriage or divorce records, no accurate family information. When I tried to cancel the trial membership, the automatic information said that they were closed over the weekend, so I sent email instead. I called Monday and the Rep said they would cancel, gave me cancellation number, and assured me they would not charge beyond the trial membership fee. Next day I find out that my bank account was charged, so I called in. They insisted it was a correct charge and refused to refund me. This company is worthless and is out to rip off unknowing customers.

I signed up for a one-month subscription. I have a screen shot that illustrates that I chose this option (1 month at $19.93). Huh! Low and behold, I was charged for the next month too. I called to cancel, and the option to cancel the membership (option 3 on the phone) hung up. Then I tried the option to discuss memberships (option 2 on the phone). That hung up too. Odd, because the website says they are passionate about customer service. Then I did the only thing left to me, I chose technical support. I spoke to a person who said, no you have to cancel your membership or it will continue to bill you. I countered that I signed up for one month only. She said I should have read the fine print. I was not pleased with her answer; it just doesn't make sense. I protested. She advised me that perhaps I will read fine print more closely in the future. Finally, I requested a receipt, as this only showed on my business credit card and I needed to submit backup documents. She said no, I didn't need that, the entry on my credit card should prove that I purchased it. I'll try to convince the accounting department of this. In the end, I told her that I now understand that Persopo needs every $20 it can get its hands on, no matter how it does it, but that I would opt for a review. So here I am. Don't buy from this chintzy company. They could care less about me or you.

Deceptive practices that amount to theft. The company offers a search for $1.00 and then starts to bill you for service of $19.93 per month. It isn't clear who is billing or how to contact them. Not noticing was my fault but once you call these are the rudest, nastiest customer service people I've ever contacted. They tell you you cannot speak to a supervisor. Raise their voices at you and threaten you. Unbelievable this kind of thing continues to go on.

Followed instructions to opt-out and remove my information from the site for 2 states on 9/23/2021.

BIG LIE! It's been over a month and my info is still on the site

Immediately I sent a follow up email to Monica and new opt out request because they claimed the request was complete. 7 days later I received another Ticket ID# (*******)

I never heard from Monica again. I contacted support several times and each time the same response.
"Nothing we can do" "You have to continue to send emails" Most reps were rude and unprofessional. I have also sent emails requesting a manager in the subject line (as instructed) still no response. The entire process is a joke. I think the end game is to keep your info on the site. They have no intention of completing your request. I refuse to waste any more time sending email requests. I am submitting a complaint to the BBB. No one should have to go through this nonsense to remove inaccurate info.
