The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

I used PayPal for a transaction that ended up being a scam. I filed a claim and tried contacting costumer service but they weren't answering their phone during regular business hours. I called five times on my lunch break and messaged them through their website. Overall I waited 2 hours for nothing. I received no help from anyone. I proceeded through my own banking account and filed a claim through them as well. I would never recommend PayPal to anyone. If I could rate the app 0 stars I would.
I sold a floor buffer the customer paid through paypal and they hold my payments I highly recommend not using paypal find another service that wont hold your money for 21 days for no reason.
Pay pal may side with scammers online just so they don't have to do any lag work i have been working on a clam where i never received my item i ordered threw a sight figured i have pay pal my $$ well be protected what a joke might as well spent it on gas then lit a match and dropped it in my fuel tank. Would have been better than the pay pal customer service was.
I've been using PayPal for more than 10 years, and have never had a problem; much the reverse. They have actually gone to bat for me when I was scammed, and refunded money to me out of their pocket, not the vendor. This was not an eBay transaction. I used them to pay for an online purchase that turned out to be a scam from China. They were simply the payment vehicle. They still refunded my money. I can't say enough about their efficient communication or the excellent service. It was time consuming, but they were responsive and helpful. 5 stars!
I have been in contact with PayPal for several weeks they still don't know where my refund it is I've given them all the information they've asked for last I talked to him about 7 this morning it is now 142 and they still have not responded I feel I may never get my money back my Honey Jack
I had my Paypal account hacked and $******* of purchases charged to it. I was not able to reach anyone on the phone and there is no email to email Paypal, I could only reach them through my account, which was no longer in my control. The automated Paypal 'customer service' line did not provide an option to speak to a rep and it said the offices were closed, despite it being in the time that the offices were stated to be open, this went on for several days. I eventually was able to regain control over my account by obtaining my phone number again(which was ported out) and then reset my Paypal password. I still got nowhere with the online message system. I made numerous requests to speak to a rep and for my account history. I got variations of the same generic messages back each time and often times my questions were just ignored. One time I was given the same customer service number again where it was impossible to speak to a human still. Other times I was told not to worry as the transactions were canceled, despite me explaining each time that I wanted the history of the attempted transactions for the police fraud file that was opened. I just looked through the message thread and there were 8 instances I requested the history and then numerous more times when I explained I wanted to speak to someone over the phone. This has been happening over the last week of me trying each day to get information and to speak to someone in regards to the $******* of unauthorized transactions, I am no further ahead than when I started. It has been the only business that I have not been able to speak to(I was able to reach my bank, phone provider, the credit card company etc) and Paypal have not even answered my questions regarding if they will do any follow up in relation to the illegal charges. I have had no recourse in this situation and if I had known this would be the case I would have canceled my account long ago and not put myself at this risk. My phone provider has told me that for persons whose numbers are ported out by hackers that Paypal is the first place they check(so they can reset your password using your phone number). Given the very poor communication I have had from Paypal I am no longer comfortable trusting any of my transactions with their service and would caution others as well.
I bought something in May and still have not received it in August. Paypal closed the case in July and will not reopen it to help a good customer out. I would never use them again for transactions as they do not stand behind their customers. Stick to American Express as they will go to bat for their people!
Today I have had two transactions sent to my account that I am not able to receive from my business. I have literally been on the computer speaking to different agents all day and they all are dumb as doorknobs. They did not solve my issue at all. I cant get a live person on the damn phone. As the seller i had to deny both payments. I have already sent my merchandise off so basically I am not getting paid for it because they are holding my $#*!. DO NOT USE PAYPAL.
THIEVES!
I ordered a mixer from kitchenaid 233.99, but kitchenaid only got paid 1.00. So that means PayPal kept my money and I cannot get any help with it from PayPal. I will never use PayPal again. I'm disabled and can't afford $233.99 ripoffs.
Scammers have found that PayPal is a good way to successfully scam consumers. You order something from an ad you see on the internet, In my case a garden stool/kneeler. You use PayPal to pay for the item. The seller then sends you a package, that they send first class, for less than a dollar, with a tracking number(they sent me a scrap of fabric) from some place in the U.S. When you say you didn't get what you ordered, they produce the tracking number. Then they say if you are not happy to return the worthless item to a place in China and they will give you a refund. Well no sane person, during a pandemic(I am 79) is going to pay for international shipping, knowing one will be cheated further. PayPal, of course, sides with the scammer. It is impossible to communicate with PayPal. Hell will freeze over before I use PayPal again.
They except my money every month which is more than my minimum and never late. They decide to lock me out of my account for no real explanation. I will never use or recommend ever again. A debit card or credit card is a smoother transaction..
After using PayPal for over 10 years, got into one issue with Wish website. Wrote to PayPal to resolve the dispute, in return they closed the case with due course. Can't get hold of live person to talk, once they charge your credit card, you are at their mercy. Shame on this company for promoting and doing business with fraudulent overseas companies and ripping off innocent Americans citizens.
I've bought products from a company that appeared to be in the U.S. - with a San Francisco address. The products were of such poor quality I would be embarrassed to post photos here. I've contacted seller many times and PayPal as well. Seller would not refund and PayPal closed my case with a simple "PayPal closed your case and not in your favor". Wigs Sales Inc. is out of China - not the U.S.; their website posts photos of high-end products from American companies to lure the buyer. You cannot return the merchandise because of the expensive shipping rates to China. They know this because shipping costs from China are pennies per ounce and returning the parcel to them will cost the American consumer 4 or 5 times the cost of the product. So, you resign yourself to being scammed and you trash the product. The seller got pay a few hundred dollars by PayPal, will change their business name and address to avoid suspicion and continue to deceive the U.S. buyer. Why not, PayPal backs them up - no questions asked. So, their 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back from PayPal is bull! CAUTION. Don't buy wigs and women beauty products unless you are sure they are not from China - specifically refrain from buying from WIGS SALE, INC. They are real scammers.
When I was trying to send money through the "friends and family" method, over 2 hrs and at least 5 tries, it said "payment can't be sent at this time". So I tried to just do the "send" method and entered a phone number. I was not informed when the transaction was about to be sent, that there would be a $14 fee. Then when I complained to customer service, they were no help. They didn't listen to my problem and just kept sending scripted responses like, "read our agreement" blah blah blah. They lost a long time customer.
A customer has filed a charge-back claim through PayPal. We have provided full and comprehensive evidence of the parcel delivery with full tracking number details and even went as far as attaching the postage label that was used for the parcel. Instead of safeguarding the transaction under seller protection, PayPal chose to scam us for the full amount plus charge-back fee of $15 to add insult to injury. We have sent three messages through their site and no help was provided. They refused to refund the money and insist of scamming us. We are now filing a claim with the NSW Fair Trading and ACCC Australia. Given the comprehensive evidence we provided. Those government agencies will force PayPal to refund us the transaction total. This review is written to ensure potential PayPal customers are aware of PayPal's fraudulent service. Rest assured that for whatever PayPal fees you are paying, you are not getting protected under their fake seller protection policy in any way shape or form. They will violate their policy in a heart beat and scam you at any given time. I advise you to think twice before you sign up to their service.
I purchased Birkenstock shoes from a company I was not familiar with which is risky but I used PayPal because of their buyer protection program. The shoes arrived and they are very cheap imitations. I filed a dispute with PayPal. They said I had to return shoes to seller for refund. Shipping to return shoes was 57.00. Almost as much as I paid for them. PayPal will not budge. I guess they care more about the Chinese fraudulent seller than their customers.
I had cancelled an order with an online merchant due to product unavailability. Merchant never responded to my emails and would not answer phone. They shipped the product too late for me to use and still would not respond to email or phone. Return freight charges would total more than value of the item. I filed a dispute with Paypal thinking it would at least get a dialog going with the merchant. Paypal sent a canned response saying that they heard back from the merchant and were cancelling my dispute. I was invited to send more documentation. Obviously, a human being never even intervened on either side. No value at all to Paypal.
I ordered a kayak, but never received it. So I submitted a claim, they denied it because a tracking number. The tracking never went to a USPS location. USPS does NOT-ship 10ft Kayak. The vendors website and shop doesn't exist anymore. I tried to resubmit a claim and all it does is give an error message. PayPal is a scam!
As for me, it is a good payment system. I use it to pay for the work of copywriters. I pay additionally for various services on sites. Transactions are fast. Perhaps, if you use this payment system deeper than I do, then you should read all the reviews.
If i had my choice to give them zero starsI would have gave them negative stars period by far the worst. I will never make 1 more transaction through these CROOKS. They do nothing but biz with CROOKS. You cant talk to nothing but worthless robots. I will live without whatever that i want if it takes purchasing it through these CROOKS, Best of luck to these CROOKS. You will never see a PENNY OF MY MONEY RUN THROUGH YOUR CRAP HOLE COMPANY. To the clients that run through these CROOKS you wont see a penny of my money either. So to say the least get DUCKED PAYPAL.
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.

Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
