The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

Needed help with a transaction I made by mistake. Tried using the website. No help there. Called customer service no help there. They brag about customer service but that's as far as it goes. Stay away. Expensive scammers. Not trust worthy.
PayPal allowing the scammers exist. I got a scam link pretending is from my work I clicked on it and immediately $20 was withdrawal from my PayPal. I immediately reported to PayPal and dispute the charge but the result came back and they denied my dispute, despite I reported this as a scam. The problem is not the $20, the problem is that PayPal allowing the scammer keeps the money and encourage this.
I've used pay pal for years without issues but recently sold an iron gate and they took $15 out of a $475 payment and are holding the money for no good reason. I tried all day to get someone to help and finally made a consumer complaint to Consumer Financial Protection Agency. They have not even responded. I'm done with them. Never again
Gross company, keeps you on the phone for hours and doesn't help you with the dispute. Sides with the scammers always and really just messes with the customer.
Customer service people are very friendly and helpful as usual, but theres not much that can be done for a $#*!ty company with $#*!ty policies. Keeps them in a corner and stops them from helping the customer. (even when the customer provides proof of fraudulent link, shipment, and 'proof of delivery')
When you have an instant payment on a purchase you know you have a problem., SOP is once the item ships the PayPal payment is made. I contacted Paypal within five minutes of making a purchase to let them know that it was a scam. I attempted to cancel the order and everything disappeared, The item was never delivered they had bogus USPS information they used saying I received something I never received. Proof was given that the item was never received and PayPal still did not return my funds. There is a communication problem and after five phone calls and an hour spent on their chat the resolution was finally to refund my money! Please note, fraudulent sites are using fraudulent delivery information and it's very hard to detect and it may seem to take a lot of time but it's worth it, stop the dirt bags!
Instead of issuing me my refund they sent me a voucher refusing to refund me because its their "policy" and I can't use the voucher any ore because it expired. Don't trust these crooks.
I do not use PayPal to bill people. I would not use it. But on occasion I have to use PayPal to pay bills/statements I get from other vendors. First they have people who do not speak English asking you security questions they cannot pronounce! Good Luck on that. Second, their questions are stupid. They asked about cars I may have leased in the past --to me that means rental cars and I do not recall the make, model, of every rental car I have used in the past. One non-English speaking lady was asking which of the following cars I have owned in the past --then half way thru the list admitted she could not pronounce the names of some of the car models! One tricky questions is which of the following "other" names have you been called in the past. Name #3 is your current first name. But you had better answer "None of the Above." Because this is not an "other" name you have been called. It is a name you are currently called! I asked to have an English speaking person talk to me --after a 3-5 minute wait a non English speaking male took over for the female I could not understand. After I could not understand him he suggested I might want to open a new account! I told all my vendors to use some other service besides PayPal to bill me. (One vendor got back to me and said guess what? They had not billed me anyway! Now he wondered how many times PayPal did that with other customers!)
Can someone answer for me why PayPal appears to be closing down accounts from News Sites with certain political view points. The shut down seems to include seizing the monies in the account with no reason given. See: https://www.jacobinmag.com/2022/05/paypal-independent-media-journalism-censorship-tech
If this is true then PayPal is an unreliable place to keep any of my funds going forward. I have been with PayPal since the beginning and have had perhaps up to $100,000 or more transaction flow through the system. There are now plenty of other options that can replace it.

PayPal needs to be taken down for their fraud
I was supposed to receive money on my PayPal account. Instead PayPal told me that for some unexplained and unknown reason I "Can no longer use PayPal". In addition they said " Any bank or credit card information that's linked to your PayPal account cannot be removed nor can it be added to another account."
I have had it with their continuing fraudulent actions!
A few months ago, they did a similar thing with my wife. They committed actual fraud in that case, lying and saying that they confirmed that several fraudulent deliveries were made to our home that were never made. Instead, someone had set up a fraudulent PayPal account in her name, and had deliveries made to other addresses. But PayPal joined in with them in their fraud, as confirmed by a police investigation. It looks like it's time for a class action suite against PayPal for their ongoing fraudulent actions.
I have a business account with PayPal. The account was opened some time ago. I have used this account several time when I buy merchandise from my vendors. Normally people use their MC, Visa or Cashapp when they purchase from my business. Today one of my customers used PayPal for a purchase and they restricted my account. They asked me to submit all of this information, (mind you, I have been using this account already) saying they had to verify my business account, I called several times to no avail. It was a joke to them. They said with the information I submitted the account is now under review and it takes 3 to 5 Business days. So my money is just sitting there in limbo. I will NEVER use this Garbage company again. I have also deleted them as a form of payment from my website.
22 days and counting to receive my money from PayPal. 8 days ago I was walked through all the steps with a rep to get it right. Hit "confirmed" and my bank was linked. Do I have my money 8 days later? No. New rep says try again. Was there a reason it didn't go through? "Try again," he says. Ah, I remember customer service. So long ago now.
I have had 3 disputes with this company where I have been victimized. Each time I acted immediately to resolve the issues with tons of supporting documents despite others having negative reviews with the same issue from the company Lavenderale they sided with the seller. PayPal gave me the runaround for over a hour and a half to close my account and still hung up without letting me know if my account would be closed! I'm changing all my cards attached to this Fraudulent Company who says they back your purchases.
I ordered a dress from an international company. I knew it would take over 30 days to arrive, and the order stated it would take 60 days before my event. I took 90 days... AFTER my event ended. I had proof of emails between the seller and myself begging them to keep the dress after the promised 60 days had passed. They ended up shipping anyways, and I opened up a case with Paypal to say that I tried to get the company to not ship it, and they were no help even with the uploaded proof of email exchange, and closed the case. The company said I have to ship it back for a refund, and it costs $250 to ship back to China, which is more than I paid for the dress. I had a similar thing happen with Amazon, and I had NO trouble getting the refund and the company sent a return label. I though using Paypal would help to protect my transactions, but they do absolutely nothing! You are better off making sure you use Amazon or another company!
Paypal USED TO BE a reliable service for me. Many of paypal customers these days are not credible. They are also seedy when it comes to refunds. They definitely don't protect buyers the same way as credit card companies do. There are much better alternatives out there, just take some time and do some research first.
I was just robbed of $500 by a hacker through PayPal. Spoke with Tressa (Philappines), Katie and supervisor, Ian all who "accidentally" lost the call w/ promise to call back if that happened. Didn't happen. Zero resolution. I just want paper check mailed to my real home (not hackers) and PP acc't closed. I don't trust them and neither should you. Cash App, Venmo & Zelle for me! You'd be smart to do the same. FDIC, where are you? Shut it down! PP can't be trusted and they really don't care. PP is no better than the scammers that are allowed to infiltrate their system! Do Better Paypal!
Terrible experience! Really poor services! First they limited my account for no reason, then they asked for private bank information in order to release it, and finally I cannot contact them via email by no means! Three attemts/emails and equal platform crushes! I cannot even delete my account! They are horrible!
Someone hacked my account and I never received notice. I called PayPal and they was no help at all..
PayPal makes too much money off of scammers to rule in your favor. PayPal requires no proof from scammer if item was delivered but if I sold to you I've been ruled against even with tracking numbers and signature proof. Unfortunately I've been with PayPal since 2005. Because of their dishonesty that time is coming to an end. This isn't the first time they sided with a scammer. Please, only deal with PayPal if you enjoy getting ripped off by scammers and know in advance they are bed buddies with scammers.
Paypal is one of the great blights upon humanity, dedicated above all to holding on to as much of your money for as long as possible before passing what's left of it on. ANY option is better, including bartering with wampums.
PayPal over the course of a couple months tool over 200 dollars from my PayPal account. I would use my PayPal debit card to pay for something and WATCH the money leave my PayPal balance. Then, a week or 2 later the charge would move up the list and charge me again. Sometimes even topping up from my bank account. Then when they topped up, more than required for the purchase, the excess money would never appear in my account. On top of random charges appearing on my bank account when i unlinked my bank to avoid further transactions. Doesn't help that customer support is worthless.
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
