The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

I've had this account for over 10+ years. Any issue or concern was quickly addressed and corrected in the past. Today PayPal has no idea how to correct the issues I'm having. I've been on the phone all day and nothing. I can't use my account and my PayPal balance is not assessable to me. Thieves
I like PayPal. It's very secure and user-friendly. I recommend that you use PayPal if you see my message.
After two people tried to get 599.99 cash from my account, I contacted PayPal to shut down my account they said thew would. Two weeks later I received another notice that another person wanted 699.99 money transfer. I contacted them again to close my account. The problem is if I didnt see the text message they sent me after 24 hours they would have sent the money. This is a very bad company. User beware.
One of my friend paid me over $1000 via paypal and was hoping the transaction would be fast and easy.
I had to wait almost 1 month to get my money and because of that, I was late for another payment for which I had to borrow money from another source. I called Paypal multiple times to ask them to liberate that money hold hostage but it did not work!
Not a big fan of that company.
My daughter used Paypal to send money to me via my Paypal account. Despite trying literally everything including emptying my cache and using a different browser, I was unable to move the money to either my verified debit card or my bank account. Over 3 days I made numerous calls to Paypal because the links that would enable me to do this didn't even appear on my Paypal account pages. I got nothing but nonsense and condescension from customer service agents and supervisors. I'm 65 but not senile, and I've used computers for over 25 years. My Paypal account worked just fine until 3 days ago yet I couln't get my complaint taken seriously. I was able to send the money back to my daughter as a "refund," but I did that on my own because Paypal was no help whatsoever. They are nothing but a headache, a company that is using people without treating them decently. I don't recommend them.
I have used paypal for well over 10years. I have never once had a customer ask for a refund. And I have only requested a refund once, myself. My account was permanently closed falsely stating that I've had a high number or charge backs which could not be further from the truth. I even received an email saying one of my clients asked for a refund-which we are still doing business and he has communicated how satisfied he is with our working relationship. Paypal is not trustworthy for business.
What I like about PayPal the most is the fact that people don't have to put their credit cards in my client's website like Stripe. Customers are more comfortable to login to their PayPal account and pay by credit card through PayPal. I think this is the most important benefit of PayPal. It's user friendly and very easy to understand the platform. Some customers email my clients and ask their PayPal email to send payment manually, which is also a great option. By the way, refunds through PayPal are instant so you don't have to wait days to get your money back to your credit card. That's why I love PayPal a lot.
I have been a customer of pay pal since 2009! I bought something from walmart but then cancelled the transaction. Then pay pal tried to take the amount back and I filed a complaint to my bank. Now, pay pal is saying I OWE them money! Unbelievable! Total fuc**** embezzlement! My bank even said I owe them NOTHING! Their system is messed up! So instead of fixing their damned system, I guess they would rather steal people's money! I wrote the BBB because this is sickening! I have some payments to finish off with them and I am done! DO NOT EVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE! Pay pal is SH*T! I plan to close off my account once I am done with the four payment damn plans I did with them! NEVER AGAIN!
Wanted to return product paid through PayPal account - went round & round on Knix chat platform- reach out to PayPal - within 24 hours Knix reach out to refund- I would not buy from Knix Product not as advertised-
I was on the phone with them for 3 days trying to get money sent. One representative assured me the issues were fixed, only to find out that they were not. I spoke to 9 representatives in one day, was on hold from 9:48 am to 6 pm. It was an emergency situation and they refused to fix, even though they even sent a verification code by phone. I finally had the sender withdraw the money, send cashapp, which I received on mere minutes.
Avoid PayPal like the plague. There's a reason they've had nearly 3,000 complaints in the past year. I'll never use them again.
Someone set up a PayPal account in my husband's name. We received a tax deficiency notice from the IRS for over $31,000 in income that isn't my husbands income. IRS thinks we owe over 13K in taxes and penalties. Working with PayPal to resolve this has been a NIGHTMARE. They refuse to call us. I have to spend virtually the entire day "chatting" with a customer service agent, a different one every few hours. I have repeated what is going on ad nauseum. Had to send the IRS letter twice, to two different internal paypal email addresses. It has been four days and their tax fraud department still hasn't contacted us, still the regular customer service. They have documented that this fraudulent account has a different bank and address than ours, that is as far as things have gone. I have repeatedly stressed we have a very limited time to respond to the IRS and they refuse to send anything in writing, call us, etc. So I have resorted to screen shots of a very long message string. For something of this magnitude their help has been pathetic thus far. Save yourself a whole lot of pain and deactivate your PayPal account and work with your bank, credit card company, etc. to address any fraud you might face or identity theft. This is going to sound crazy, but working with the IRS has been much, much easier and way more productive and helpful than working with PayPal. As soon as this is resolved, we are both deactivating our PayPal accounts. Never again.
Seamless 2 day transfer. I would definitely do this again, when I get enough points together. Maybe a year.
At 12:50 AM on 11/21/22, I received a texted code request from Paypal to login to my account. I have double verification set up. Because I knew someone nefarious was trying to login to my account (I was asleep), I contacted paypal by phone at 9:24 AM on 11/21/22 to attempt to speak to a live person regarding this attempt to hack my account. When I asked the phone bot to transfer me to a live agent, the bot said "no one was available to take my call" they were "too busy"and the bot sent a text link to my phone number to start a "chat" with supposedly a live person. I started the chat, described my problem, and NO ONE EVER responded to the chat and the link. Then, the "chat" expired. There is nowhere on paypal's app to report suspicious activity. This is not the first issue with this company. They also charged my former credit card with them for TWO balance payments (over $1,300 TWICE) and refused to reverse the charge. They made me wait TWENTY days to get my money back. They literally stole $1300 from my bank account and refused to correct it immediately. They blamed ME. This company handles sensitive, personal data and has access to member credit cards, bank accounts and offers ZERO assistance to customers. There is no way to report fraud to a live person. This company should be shut down for shady, illegal business practices. After almost 20 years of being a customer, I was forced to close my account permanently due to zero advocacy from this business. This "supposed business" should be held to the same accountability & laws of ANY BANK. They are stealing from customers and taking zero responsibility. Something must be done about it. They offer zero protection or restitution.
Their buyer protection program is a JOKE!. They give the sellers 10 days to respond to your request for a refund and when you escalate the claim they give the seller another 10 days to respond. WAY TOO LONG!
I bought a gift to be delivered for a birthday in another country, because that's what technology is for to keep families together. Unfortunately for a 47.18 cent purchase I have to wait up to 72 hours for a review? Not o ly that but after being on hold for so long a manager could help me pr cancel the order. I had to repurchase the gift another way and now deal with getting that one refundido. What a waste of time and a birthday ruined and the surprise will get there late. Why have customer service if they can't even offere anything for the inconvenience. NO work around or anything!
Like many businesses that handle payments, PayPal levies fees for their services. It's always wonderful if costs can be reduced so that creators may keep more of the money they work so hard to earn, even though I expect and accept that fees are ultimately inevitable. When price increases are necessary to take percentages into account, it is unpleasant. However, in general, I have found PayPal's costs to be among the lowest, so this is a very small issue.
We have raised funds for our charity on FB which only pays through PayPal. However, PayPal for some reason has put a limitation on our account and so we cannot get the donations. PayPal has asked us to upload a bank statement and a government-issued tax exemption document. We have done that. More than once - and yet, nothing... We have uploaded a letter from HMRC and our bank statements. Every time we call, we talk to a different person, we need to explain the whole situation again and again. They all promise: upload these documents, this time it will work... It never does. Last email received - and please, read carefully! -: "We've received your government-issued tax exemption document, but we also need a bank statement. Please upload a bank statement that shows the charity name. We've received your company house registration number, but we also need you to upload a government-issued tax exemption document for your charity." Shame I cannot upload a screenshot. In the same message they both acknowledge to have received the government-issued tax exemption document and they ask us to send them a government-issued tax exemption letter. Is this a joke? And this has been going on for months. We will raise an official complaint with the Financial Ombudsman.
My bank contacted me about a possible fraudulent claim on my credit card. Sure enough it was from Total AV which I never heard of. I'll pay this charge over my cold dead body! It went through Paypal which was supposed to insulate me from this crap. I think paypal gave access to my accounts!
Second time using paypal in 2.5 years. - first time tent was never received yet delivered to another address - not mine. Second time item ordered. Seller never acknowledged order (order confirmation) after repeated emails thru paypal to the seller nor provided a tracking number for shipment. Sellers website no longer excists. Be very cautious setting up and using paypal as the response from paypal is slow and may result in payment for an item not delivered to you but someone else. As long as it is delivered you PAY.
PayPal is very bad place why hold my money every day you change things. I call said wait after nothing let me recover my money why all my money long time. PayPal already 3 year. I'm poor and I know it's because I'm black. Please let me recover my money. I really need. Why do that
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
