The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

What started out to be a convenient way to purchase stuff on that e*** site turned out to be a real pain in the a**. Apparently multiple accounts can be tied to this service that they use to pay for your purchase. Very carefully watch where the money is coming from and doublecheck to make sure there are no duplicate charges. Also customer service can be very hard to reach. Apparently some sites that force you to use Paypal may be linked to a scam outfit running rampant on the online marketplace. Beware of the too good to be true deals, and do some homework on sellers before purchasing.
After receving funds paypal holds it back for a month. Easy to make money when you use the money of orhers without permision...
We have had a PayPal account for many years which we used for both business and private use.
Recently the account was suspended because apparently we were not meeting their terms of service. The problem is that there is no indication whatsover as to which terms we appear to be breaching so we have no idea what we are supposed to have done wrong or what we need to do to resolve the issue.
Could not PayPal at least do their customers the courtesy of explaining the problem?
Documents were requested and provided and we then received a message that our account was cancelled due to the unspecified breach. There was a link to their terms of service but having no idea what might be wrong this was useless.
To add salt to the wound they then acted like the mafia stating we would receive a message in 180 days explaining how to retrieve the funds in our PayPal account.
We believe PayPal has shown itself to be a company with poor communication skills and systems and one that cannot be trusted.
If this behaviour does not breach a number of consumer rights, I'd be surprised.
They will flag your account and block your money for many many months, almost a year since I've been trying to access MY MONEY! Scam artists, horrible service, not because the poor people that works for them are bad but they all give you different information and never call you back. They are clearly not trained and its a messy and horrible scamming company!
Hello Everyone:
I would like to share with you a story about PayPal as a third party institution under its created policy and advertisements. They suppose to represent buyer interest and protect buyer's rights. Unfortunately PayPal doesn't do it. Or maybe it was before and they don't do it now.
The whole story is about -- I have tried to buy a product from, ops – I didn't check the company, Hainshow.com (scammer). They accepted a payment from me through the PayPal and …silence…
I wrote to Hainshow.com and PayPal, there was a silence again. After a month I received a note from USPS that the product was successfully delivered. I was not lazy and visited my USPS office. I found that Hainshow used another address and another addressee on the shipment. Maybe I would stop my investigation, but the prove-photo from USPS delivery guy, there was a small package. I orders a product and it would be about 5-6 pounds, definitely not small package.
I wrote another message to PayPal with this accident that Hainshow collected several buyers and sent all of them the same tracking number. One buyer got the order; others got nothing because USPS shows that the order was delivered.
Again, I visited my USPS office. The USPS delivery guy showed me the picture of the package with a different name, different address but the same tracking number. I made copies and sent to PayPal.
Wow, PayPal didn't want to do anything, or someone didn't want to do a real investigation. They just closed the case.
If you ask me what I did – I broke the relations with PayPal and wrote them, that they hadn't followed their promises, they didn't protect buyer's rights and interest and they didn't spent time for the investigation.
My concern they are not qualified for presenting buyer's interest on the web. Maybe you are luckier, but I don't. I can see there are more complaints, so, I am assuming it is a SYSTEM to lie to their customers.
It is very sad.
PS. I don't want to add any photos from USPS, or my own, tracking numbers and etc, I am just sharing my experience.
And thank you very much.
Back in November I purchased a camera lightbulb which I sent back to the company. The company itself seems shady but I was told I'd receive a full refund. After giving PayPal all of the written info they STILL kept asking me for more info. What more could I send. I had the receipt, the mail receipt stating it was delivered and the letter stating a refund. End of story. No refund no and no product.Of course there isn't a human to speak to. Canceling PayPal off all my accounts.
Used service CVmaker, they ask to install PayPal and add my credit card. It was done. I pay money for the service above. Next month without my consent my money missed, next month same story. I found that CVmaker via PayPal take money every month. But I cancelled all automatic transactions. Then I created cases in PayPal service send all proof. One month I waiting for return money. And now they reply "We have reviewed this transaction(s) and are denying your claim(s). This decision was made because the dispute was submitted with insufficient information/documentation to support the claim and we were unable to obtain the required information."
DO NOT USE PayPal to avoid miss your money!

Money sent to my by my sister and I cannot get it? Then I call for help and get some fraud guy trying to steal from me. Overall PayPal sucks. Can't even get a real agent on the phone.
I have used Paypal for over 20 years for my online purchases. All was fine until a while back when they switched their customer service to Indonesia or another foreign country. Your purchases are no longer protected because these foreign countries can't help you with a dispute. They keep talking like they are helping but the truth is they are not. You will have to talk and wait on the phone for 45 minutes if you have a complication in a dispute. There is no way to contact Paypal dispute department except through a 3rd part. I now have a American Express Credit Card and I will be filing disputes, if there are any, through them. Because I can call them directly. Paypal is no longer available to call directly. And if you ask customer service for a USA Paypal customer service. They will NOT transfer you. I rate this company as poor. And not even worth using anymore. They do not benefit the customer. And your purchases will not be protected.
This is a great way to earn extra money. It was so easy just complete surveys to get paid. It was simple as one two three and three days money was in my account
Every time a deposit has been made for 10 years now (immediately) gets converted to Canadian $...and transferred into cheuqing
Acc...no issues...All of a sudden, deposit made and no Transfer to bank, and just sits in Pay pal account, rotting. This amount stays unconverted! 12 days later Still in USD funds,,so i made a purchase (and my preference chosen was strictly to use my checking
Account for purchases, & deposits coverted & Transferred to bank...INSTEAD THEY USED DEPOSIT IN USD WITHOUT CONVERTING
And got rilped off, so super said its unfortunate when these things happen, but ive lost alot, SHAME ON YO PAY PAL...YOU R NOT A PAL
At all!
This is NOT a slam against the legitimate PayPal site. Until I came in today I had no idea there were so many scammers using their name. Toward the end of October 2022, I was online with a company that people who work with clay use. In the middle of the sale, someone acting as PayPal phished me so I cancelled and turned off the iPad. About 10 min. Later, I tried again with the same outcome.
I immediately googled PayPal only to get the people who were phishing me. They wanted all my information, but the woman asking the questions couldn't get anything right. Over and over asked me to repeat and repeat at which point I cancelled that call and immediately called the credit card company and we locked my card. I cannot bring myself to use PayPal anymore for fear of a repeat incident, and this is the shame of what scammers do to, not just the buyers, but the legitimate companies they are scamming. I know I'm not alone. I just don't know who to trust anymore and it's a bad feeling.
I wish we could stop the rape of businesses and consumers. It gets worse every year and they seem to get smarter.
Pay attention to the banners and icons with online merchants you do business with, take a screen shot that you can compare with whoever new, you are considering making a purchase from BEFORE you give out information, which is what I should have done and have since implemented.
Thanks for letting me tell my story
Paypal dodged me by suddenly changing my price plan and came up with a new plan so they can charge me more intrest per month
Is really frustrating using this service they always find an excuse to keep your money in hold for as long as they can even after your account is verified and legit even if the payer or seller is verified too.ones I get my money I will not use this BS service ever.I'm so mad.
I have used Paypal for online purchases and it has been fine. However, I just sold some items and the buyer transferred over $500 to my Paypal account. I tried to have those funds transferred to my regular bank account. Even though they had the correct bank account number Paypal indicated the money could not be transferred. So I then opened a Paypal account. A few days later my account was hacked and money removed by purchasing a gift certificate for some strange email given. I caught the theft and, since they don't have humans that you can talk to, I filed a claim stating that the removal of my money for some gift certificate was fraudulent. That evening I received an email from Paypal indicating that the transaction was fine and was consistent with my history. I have never purchased a gift certificate from Paypal and I have never had large funds transferred to my Paypal account so just what history is this fraudulent purchase consistent with I ask? I replied as such to the Paypal claims department and have not heard a word.
We own a cleaning company and never had any issues with our payments. All of a sudden, this past week, all of our payments have been put on hold for to a new account that was made. However, the only thing that was changed was the password! We had three payments escalated and put through for us. The one today was a huge issue. Supervisor John and another named G were out on to help up. They told us there aren't any notes in the system and there was nothing at all they could do for us including transferring us to someone else! Very rude and kept speaking over me before I finished talking. We going to and called back. This time the situation was handled and it money was put through, thankfully. However, we are looking into going with another place.
It's been half decent for what i use it for and now that went the way of the dodo bird. I sent a woman 400 bucks a week ago and Paypal claimed the federal government was holding up the transfer for a week. So i ended up paying cash to the woman because i drove to maryland to get what i purchased the item was 3 hours from home. The woman refunded me the money now but it's taking another 3 days for it to be put back into my account. WTF PAYPAL?
I tried to make a purchase off Facebook marketplace. I used my PayPal as a payment because they are supposed to protect you. And so is Facebook meta pay. So I sent the money, which was immediately taken out of my account, and then was ignored by the seller from there on out. I have ALL the proof I need of being scammed. Yet PayPal not Meta Pay seems to care at all. So I just gave away $130. These companies are just as much thieves as the thief himself. I will NEVER recommend PayPal or Meta Pay ever again. In fact, I will go out of my way to let anyone who's thinking of using their services under the assumption tht they are protected, to stay way away from using them. Just another reason to add to my huge list of reasons that people are trash and companies care nothing about their consumers. We live in a world full of greed.
I will never use paypal again if I have the option.
I bought an online code from a vendor that I didn't know and since Paypal says they are on the side of the buyer and we have protections, that they will refund our money if something goes wrong, I went ahead and bought it- after all I've been using Paypal for years even before it was popular...so I thought because of this history being a member, and never encountered this situation, it wouldn't be an issue. The code didn't work, the vendor refused to refund me, contacted Paypal, told the whole story again, and they wanted more "proof" that code had not worked. Of course, I didn't have anything else besides what I sent to the vendor, and shared that with Paypal as proof. Anyways, Paypal customer service sucks, and they are definitely not on the side of the buyer...probably on the side of the seller -after all they are the ones that probably pay them. I hope you think of this next time when selecting to use paypal.
Goodbye PayPal.
PayPal is USELESS, WORTHLESS, and UNTRUSTWORTHY
PayPal is USELESS, and allows sellers on its platform to commit FRAUD, by refusing to enforce both the seller's return policies and PayPal's own "Buyer Protection" policies. PayPal is a JOKE and is complicit in seller's FRAUDULENT SCHEMES!
I filed claim number PP-R-MZB-*******. The seller had a 30 day return policy. I emailed the seller, who provided a Canad Post return label, and the items were returned after only 5 days, with verification of a signature by the seller. Now the seller is refusing to refund my money after they got their product back, and PayPal seems quite ok with that.
I'm deleting my PayPal account and calling VISA to re-issue any cards that were associated with my Paypal account as I CANNOT TRUST PayPal to be an Honest Broker.
I suggest you DELETE your PayPal account and put that WORTHLESS company out of business!
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
