The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support. Many reviews highlight frustrations with delayed transactions, ineffective resolution of disputes, and a lack of proactive communication. Customers frequently report feeling unsupported in cases of fraud or issues with received goods. However, some positive sentiments emerge, particularly regarding the perceived reliability of PayPal as a payment method for certain transactions, which customers associate with enhanced buyer protection. Despite this, the overwhelming trend indicates a critical need for improvement in customer service responsiveness and dispute resolution processes.

When it comes to purchased such as on Ebay, I havent had a problem witn ebay. Until I don't get what I ordered. And will fill out everything ebay ask and it seems like they dont want to do ANYTHING About Fraudulent Accounts. They wont try to get your money back at all and after answering all their questions, they will be pretty quick to tell you there is nothing they can do, without a reason why. They should AT LEAST follow up these dirty accounts but they dont. If I ever choose to be a douche and rip people off by selling stuff then not producing, at least I know PAYPAL wont do anything to me. SMH. For that they get a 2 of 5 stars.
The only thing keeping them from a 1 is again the ease of ebay sales.
What is FUNNY is THEY KNOW THEY ARE S#IT that you cant even leave a review about their APP! WONDER How Much They Paid Google Play Store for THAT little Gem.
I purchased a pair of shoes online via PayPal when they arrived I didn't like them I had 60 days to return them now PayPal is saying they have no record of transaction. Then before that I bought a puppy online via PayPal spent over $450 never got the dog my fault went through friends and family however first person at PayPal I spoke to about this said no problem we'll get your money back. Then I spoke to another person there who said too bad your mistake so I had to eat that purchase. Overall I'd say pay pal has received well over $1000 over the years from me. The really bad thing is if you close the account you can't go back and look at those records. At one point I thought they were a reputable company but I'm seeing them as thieves now.
My name is Nadia Grey, Ive had an account with PayPal for at least a year now, and have made plenty of transactions including cashing checks, but for some reason the last 2 times I tried cashing my payroll check PayPal has denied my transaction. It's an legitimate check, and I also have cashed previous checks by the same company and the transaction was successful, I do not like feeling like a criminal and I would appreciate it if PayPal fixes this immediately, there is absolutely no reason why my check should be denied.
Thank you
I did everything by the book, and by their rules.
I bought a guitar online for $4,000 by having the seller send me a paypal invoice
Paypal terms say that I am protected if the seller sends me a counterfeit item and there is a Paypal invoice for the transaction (there is)
The seller sent me a counterfeit guitar.
Paypal told me to get documented proof from a guitar repair person and to send the guitar back with signature proof of delivery. Paypal told me to upload both documents to Paypal. I did both
Multiple representatives told me that I did what was asked and that I'd be refunded in a few days, but they have no power because the mysterious "back office" is handling this claim due to it being over 1,000 dollars. Back office has no emails and no phones accessible apparently
After talking to 10 people and calling for 4 weeks, Paypal denied my claim. Each person I spoke to said a different BS reason
Reason 1: The signature at the address wasn't from the person who sent the guitar (there is nothing in their policy that dictates who the signature needs to be from, and a rep on the phone verified that
Reason 2: I didn't provide tracking and delivery confirmation info (I know, ironic how they could claim #1 and #2 at the same time. I resent them the info, and they re-confirmed that I in fact sent the correct info
Reason 3: That the guitar was a "resale" (again, nothing in their policy saying anything about that exluding me from buyer protection. I verified with a rep on the phone that this was BS)
Reason 4: I had someone repair the guitar (uh, what? This is bogus and not true)
I called back, again, and reopened the case, but the whole process is just starting over again, with little hope for me I fear. Don't know what to do
I purchased pizza for $30.32 on Friday June 2,2023 through an app, and I used PayPal to pay. I received e-mail confirmation for said purchase that night.
On Sunday June 4, I received an e-mail for a $35.32 purchase of pizza from the same company that I didn't make.
I was confused at first, I truly thought someone had hacked my account and bought pizza with it.
I logged into PayPal and saw that I had the $30.32 transaction for Friday, which I recognized, and the new transaction for $35.32 on Sunday.
Since I had two transactions and only recognized one, I opened a claim and changed my password.
Eventually I got an e-mail from PayPal stating they were denying my claim as it was authorized.
So I go onto my account and I notice they removed the Friday June 2 payment from the list, leading me to believe that the second charge was made because they charged the wrong amount the first time.
PayPal did not inform me at any point that they had made a mistake, that this charge was a correction, and that they were going to remove the wrong charge.
I truly believe if I had not opened that claim, they would have left both charges and I would have paid for something I didn't purchase, nor authorize purchase of.
Charging me after the fact without informing me feels like illegal credit card fraud, even if it's an amount I owed, they billed and sent receipt for $30.32, which is what I authorized.
If it had happened in a store, and I bought an item that was $25 but the clerk rang it up for $20, and I walked out and they noticed their mistake, if they charge that $5 difference without my knowledge, that's credit card fraud. I don't understand why it's cc fraud if an individual person does it, but not when a big company like PayPal does it.
Once again, PayPal made an error in charging me, did not admit it was a mistake on their end and didn't inform me the reason why I was being charged. I don't like to think what other fraudulent things they get away with because people don't notice.
I haven't used PayPal for many, many years and have apparently lost my password. When I tried to get a new password, PayPal wanted to send a code to a phone number that I haven't had in years. I called PayPal and talked with a person who wanted to verify my address so they could change my phone number. I gave them the address that I have lived at for 30 years and they stated that was incorrect. The only other address I had was for a business my husband and I owned over 20 years ago. He again stated that was incorrect. I'm not sure how old PayPal might be, but don't think it is over 30 years old. So you can't change your phone number, you can't cancel the account and you can't set up a new account. What a rip-off! Obviously I won't be using PayPal for anything!
I had money on my card, they took my money on my card without my knowledge and said that they will return it automatically after 3 months, but they didn't.
These losers STOLE money from my account. I called their "customer service" number, got put on hold for an hour, and they basically said that they can steal from white people and there's nothing that I can do about it.
If I could give zero I would! Thieves is what paypal is! I tried to buy tires from a person and pay with paypal but it I mistakenly put that the seller was a merchant when they were not. I tried to request a refund but they denied it! Saying the seller would still have to pay taxes! I paid in cash when all said and done but paypal has now taken the money from the seller and me! Do not use paypal! We have tried for months to get this resolved but still no resolution! They are a joke and should be put in prison!
I've had my PayPal account for 22 years. It's a personal account. A friend just transferred a large-ish sum of money to me. I get an email from PayPal saying they've held 85% of the funds for this "purchase" until I ship the "item" to the "customer", and they've kept $347.00 US as a "service fee". When I called PayPal, their customer service supervisor, Mark, was incredibly rude to me. He basically told me I'm out the $347, they can't tell me when my account was changed to business account, and he was incredibly rude about it. So this account I've had for 22 years is suddenly a business account, but they can't tell me how. They can't FIX the problem. They can't give me the $347 back. On top of that, they're holding 85% of the funds for TWENTY-ONE DAYS, and the other 15% of the funds, they said they'd release. So I went online to transfer the funds to the VERIFIED BANK ON THE ACCOUNT which has been verified for OVER A DECADE, and I was required to submit a photo of my ID, and a current photo of myself, before they'd release. So I did that, and they told me they can't release the funds because they can't verify it's me. WHAT? Look, I don't know how many random strangers want to put money INTO my bank account, but should this really be an issue? It's a PayPal account TIED TO a specific bank account, and so what does it matter WHO is putting the funds into the account, as long as the funds are going into the bank account tied to the PayPal account. Seriously, people nowadays seem to have problems with logic. And all of this frustration has only cost me the small (lol) sum of $347.
I played PayPal games and it doesn't matter how hard I work on the phone game it doesn't send my money
I had money sent to me for someone else to help someone else. I had to get cash for the Impound Lot. Almost a week later, Paypal rev the payment and deducted the 658.04 from my disability deposit. Paypal is not secure, does not verify money transfers and if they make a mistake. They will charge you!
I used PayPal to cash out on Groupon for Botox the botox didn't even hold for 3 weeks. I didn't get what I paid for and when I disputed it PayPal was giving me the worst and the hardest time ever. Mine it was my money that I used on a service to expect a great result and it didn't happen and PayPal said that I never turned in any documents at all whatsoever which I did and the reason they try to deny my claim is because it said documents were never sent in or received they're Liars I hate the call centers that are overseas I hate being treated as if I'm a number they're Shady
The WORST customer service in history. I have never had a company care less about me as a consumer in my life. Call centre reps are clearly working in a sweat shop in the Philippines. They appear to very well trained in being sorry for the inconvenience we're experiencing, and in fobbing people off to the "correct team member". I've called at least 10 times and it has become normal for me to be transferred to an office that is closed or to a desk that literally never answers the phone after I've waited on hold not for minutes, but for HOURS. This organization once had a good reputation in the world, but that is well and clearly OVER. Such a SHAM. Paypal stole money from me in the course of "exchanging" US dollars for Canadian on a refund they finally issued me after SIX MONTHS of me hounding them. The money shows as being in the account now, but not being "available" for use. These f-*&(-ing scammers. They've given me the impression they did what I asked, but in reality, put the money in limbo in a "guest" account - never to be accessed again by me. How does the guy who runs this company sleep at night? What a horrible state of affairs when human beings are in business to cheat other human beings out of what is rightfully theirs. These TERRIBLE PEOPLE should be ashamed of themselves. Shame, shame, shame. RUN FROM PAYPAL! DO NOT EVER ENTER INTO A TRANSACTION WITH THEM AGAIN!
I had an account with PayPal and accidentally paid the wrong person, who had the same name as the person I was trying to pay. PayPal wouldn't even open a dispute or contact that person, and just said there was nothing they could do and I was out the money.
I called to close my account due to this policy, as I wanted to make it known why I was closing my account with them after having an account with them for years and years. I was placed on hold while they talked to a supervisor. While I was on hold they closed my account and simply came back on the line and said "we've closed your account as you requested."
PayPal policy = 0 out of 10
PayPal customer service = 0 out of 10
PLEASE DO NOT USE PAY PAL PLEASE. IF YOU DO AND YOU ARE DISAPPOINTED PAYPAL WILL do anything possible for you to keep said purchase in clouding but not limited to force the buyer to pay shipping for its return and they will even give you Time limitations am going through that right now as am typing this company has FROUD WRITTEN ALL OVER THEM! SAVE YOUR SELF FROM ALL THIS HEADACHES like I told them. I will pay for shipping and this would be the last time am doing any business through them therefore they are THEFS!
If you cannot log into your PayPal account, then you cannot contact customer service!
Then you file a complain with them (as it is the only way to contact them), and they answer through their customer service system, which you cannot access because you cannot log in!
How worse can you make customer service?
PayPal is a joke they are a scam they want to hold my money and can't make no transactions are deposits because a technical difficulthey're bull$#*! don't use them they are a scam
I can't believe this so-called "amazing" PayPal is such a trash. They've locked my 10 year old account over A MINOR TRANSACTION of 140 euros. This is a bloody BS.
I WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT WASTE MY TIME WITH PAYPAL ANYMORE.
IT BELONGS IN THE TRASH.
Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
