Excellent Service!
May 30, 2025

It was so easy to purchase my next puppy dog. Super fast and straight forward. Pawrade delivered the pup quickly and he has been so well behaved upon arrival. The breeders did an excellent job getting him crate trained and potty trained. Rocky has not had an accident since the 4 days of welcoming him to the family!

Nano, female, not a male
May 25, 2025

Everything was going great, until it came time to pick up Nano from the breeder. We drove to Sturgis, Michigan, a round trip of nearly 6 hours. When he arrived(right on time), we saw Nano in the car and were thrilled however, the breeder said the dog we thought and were lead to believe by the Pawrade website and all of the staff at Pawrade was a male, the dog the breeder had was a female. We said this was not possible however, upon checking further on date of birth, there was no way Nano was ever going to be a male. Pawrade is guilty of false advertising and lack of communication with the Breeder. We feel that as a minimum we should be at least partially reimbursed for this situation, for the long drive, for getting a female and not a male, and since we took delivery on Mother's Day, the advertised 10% discount! The Breeder, Enos offered a substitute Male Frenchy, which didn't have near the great markings which Nano had. He also stated that if we didn't accept the Female that we would have to start the entire process over. We finally opted to accept the Female. We hope that further action can be avoided by Pawrade providing a reasonable cash settlement.
Thanks for addressing this matter in a timely fashion. Barb and David Call

David, thank you for sharing your experience and honesty about what transpired with Nano's documentation and the communication surrounding your delivery, especially given the long trip you made. Unfortunately, we did make an honest mistake, and the pup's gender was not accurate. We have worked with you to resolve this matter, and we have reached a very fair settlement to compensate you for the inconvenience. We are also happy that you report you are otherwise very pleased with your new pup. Please accept our apology, and thank you for providing an amazing new home for an awesome new furbaby!

I would be very careful buying from Pawrade. They refused to show me DNA tests of the mom and dad and they refused to allow me to pay for a dna test of the puppy. There are several puppies with genetic heart and eye diseases amongst others and dna genetic testing is the only way to really know the health of the puppy. Getting good vet checkups is not going to cut it. Genetic testing via embark test is the way to make sure you have a healthy puppy. I will only buy from a breeder that allows me to get the dna testing done. I would be careful buying from here. They are nothing but a puppy broker and clearly do not care about the health of the puppy!

Lisa, thank you for considering Pawrade. We do not require our breeders to perform genetic testing. For the overwhelming majority of instances, it is completely unnecessary. Genetic tests for dogs are also notorious for being inaccurate. Every company that offers these tests has very clear disclaimers disclosed in their contracts.

Puppies also have a very short window of time when they are most likely to find their forever home. It is sad, but it is a reality. We can not wait weeks for a test to come back for you to decide if you want the pup. That is not fair to us, the breeder or the pup.

Though it is also not fair for you to give us this negative review, we do wish you the best in finding the perfect pup for you.

Our chocolate lab puppy came to us 10 days ago with parasites and resource guarding. He is on meds that we paid for to help him feel better. However, he has been resource guarding everything in the house. He growled and snaps when we put on and take off his harness amongst. He resource guards his toys. This is a nightmare to my family with children. Especially when his page stated he was socialized with children and crate trained which he's not. He cries, whines and barks while in the crate.

Crystal, we are sorry to hear that your pup arrived with Giardia. This is a very common parasite in pups that we specifically address and give tips and guidance on how to watch for symptoms and the best way to respond. This is also covered under the 30 days of complimentary Metlife insurance that we provide, as well as the PetPay Health Guarantee. As we have discussed with you, please forward all your vet documents to [email protected] to open a claim. It is also not uncommon for the stress of being rehomed to cause the behavior you describe with your pup. When you take a pup away from everything it has ever known, they can feel insecure, fearful and have anxiety. This can cause some natural defensive behavior. Typically, this is easily overcome with a bit of love, reassurance and training.

Bait and switch
April 9, 2025

Here is the full story, good and bad. Unfortunately, the bad severely outweighs the good. I have been dying to get my first puppy for a long, long time. I'm 34 years old and finally have space and money to take care of a dog. My family has always had Boxers, so I wanted to carry on the tradition. My experience working with the customer service rep was actually very stellar. Quick to respond, friendly, personable, and someone that I felt comfortable to be honest with on what I really wanted. When it comes to spending thousands of dollars on an animal, I expected this type of service... and I got it! So long story short, I got the puppy trucked over to my home in California from, I believe Nebraska. The experience was easy, and very expensive. But it felt worth it.
But with this expense comes a lot of risk. I know from the past that dogs (let alone Boxers) can always come with issues and ailments, but according to Pawrade they have a "Health Guarantee" - to dive a little further into that I quote from their website "Should a health issue arise after your puppy comes home, this Health Guarantee along with your Pet Insurance has you covered."
Well surprise surprise, not even a year into owning Benny (my dog) he started losing weight, vomiting regularly, and became lethargic, drank like a fish, and peed every 30 minutes. So something was clearly wrong. I took him to two vets who after lots of testing (and thousands of dollars) they found that Benny had a Copper Storage Disease (also know as copper-associated hepatopathy). For those that don't know, basically all dog food and treats have copper in them. Even vegetables and poultry have copper in them. Well, Benny couldn't digest copper properly, and left untreated, the vet says he had a year or so to live. They took more tests and did a couple biopsies on his liver and ultimately prescribed 7 medications to detox his liver, clean his liver, and promote liver function. They also prescribed liver friendly food for Benny, that he will have to eat for the rest of his life. For just the food alone, that will be about $200/month. If Benny lives until the average lifespan of a Boxer, that is 11 years. So minus 1 year, that is $200/month x 12 months x 10 years. That is $24,000 in food that I would have otherwise NOT purchased had he been a healthy dog. Not to mention the medicine and the ultrasound/biopsy cost over $10,000. Thank god I had insurance, so I had to pay about $4,000 out of pocket. Now here is the real nasty side of the situation. When I asked Pawrade to help me, because of their so called 'guarantee' - well, long story short they denied the claim because he wasn't 'sick enough'. They said, and I quote "It is important to note that should there be a subsequent diagnosis of a liver shunt, which would necessitate surgical intervention to address the condition, your claim would then qualify for coverage based on the terms of your policy." - A Liver Shunt has NOTHING to do with the disease Benny has. A shunt is for a liver bypass issue or filtration issue. The copper storage disease can only be fixed by completely removing the copper stuck in the liver, and moving forward strictly have a copper free diet. Again, if I couldn't afford the medicine, or the operations - Benny would be dead in about 6 months from today. Not even before his 2nd birthday. The vet told me that Benny, who had just turned 1 in November, had a liver functioning like a 50 year old alcoholic. Now, by Pawrade's standards, that isn't an important enough issue to help cover my needs. They're basically saying "by our guarantee's guidelines, your dog is healthy enough that it doesn't fall under our guarantee". How is that healthy? I am furious for so many reasons - the greed, the misdirection, the lies, but what bothers me the most is the utter deniability of something so clearly obvious. Luckily, I am actually able to afford these procedures and medicines (plus the thousands of dollars in medicinal food), but some of you won't be that lucky. And you'll be faced with having to see your new dog (that you likely already spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on) die slowly, or to have to put them down. And Pawrade will be sitting their counting their cash, denying your claims just like the American insurance companies do. I should have listened to my gut. It all feels very "murphy's law". You could be lucky and get a perfect dog, and Pawrade will be the wonderful company that I first thought I was interacting with, but should anything go wrong, you stand the chance of facing a cold, heartless, insurance-type industry company that will laugh in your face with your dollars in their hands.
I will never, ever consider doing business with them again. And I hope that none of you reading this experience what I've had to deal with these last few months.

Nicklas, we are sorry that your puppy seems to have a condition requiring extra care. We also understand that it can be a very difficult and personal decision when trying to choose the level of care you may be willing to financially provide for a dog. This varies for everyone, and there is no right or wrong answer. You certainly have gone above and beyond for your pup.

We provide 30 days of complimentary Metlife insurance for all our pups. There is no obligation, but we do encourage folks to extend the coverage or seek coverage with another reputable company of their choice. We see that you did choose to obtain coverage for your pup that covered many of your expenses. We also provide the 3 year PetPay Health Guarantee. This is not health insurance but a guarantee against congenital and hereditary conditions only. This is fully disclosed to every buyer during the checkout process before purchase, where they are required to check boxes acknowledging they have read and understood the terms. It is also posted on our website for anyone to review at any time. We are completely transparent with all of our policies and operate with integrity. We fairly administer all claims and make dozens of reimbursements each month.

Your claim was initially denied because there was no definitive diagnosis. Only elevated liver levels. That is when the Health Guarantee manager said that it seemed it could be a liver shunt, and if diagnosed as such, would be eligible for full coverage. Though not a Vet, he was trying to help you. You then received a diagnosis for the Copper Storage Disease. The Health Guarantee manager then advised that you just needed a second concurring opinion. This is standard medical protocol and is also clearly outlined in the Health Guarantee.

While we do have empathy for your situation, we also have to abide by the Reservation Agreement as well as the protocols of the Health Guarantee. We must treat every customer and every situation with the same level of fairness and integrity. We can not discard the terms and conditions of sale at our discretion.

I am a veterinarian, and I am very concerned about my family's experience with Pawrade. My mother-in-law and father-in-law purchased a 7-month-old Cavapoo puppy from Pawrade in July 2024. I had been very concerned about using this website because I always recommend meeting a dog in person before becoming their forever home. Pawrade requires you to pay before meeting the dog, and they do not allow you to see where or how the dog was raised. Given the area of Ohio where my in-law's puppy came from, I had strong concerns that she would be from an Amish "high volume breeder," despite the "No Puppy Mill Pledge" on the website. I was worried that the dog would either have medical issues or behavioral issues that we could not know about until it was too late.

There was a delay of a couple weeks in getting the dog because of some medical issues, but they were eventually able to bring her home. My in-laws met up with her Amish owners in a parking lot.

This poor little dog is absolutely terrified of almost everything. She is much more comfortable being outdoors than inside. She prefers being among other dogs (she is the only dog in this household). She was terrified of most things in the house and all strangers. Even though she was 7 months old when they brought her home, she had never seen a leash before and did not know how to take a walk. After 6 months, she is warming up to my in-laws. They love her despite her severe anxiety. They have spent a lot of time and money taking her to multiple dog training courses and socialization time at an expensive doggy day care. Their dog trainer says that this Cavapoo is a "rescue," no matter how much my in-laws paid for her. She acts just like the dogs you find in shelters that have been rescued from puppy mills.

I am so sorry for everyone involved. Please do not use Pawrade. Find a dog from a shelter, or from a responsible breeder who will put their name on their dogs, allow you to see their facilities, and allow you to meet the dog before you bring her home

Emily, we are sorry that you are not completely happy with your pup. Being a Veterinarian I am sure you know that adopting an older pup can be more challenging to get them to acclimate to their new surroundings. Taking what is essentially a "teenager" from everything it has ever known can be very stressful. Typically with some extra love and attention they come around and make wonderful companions.

While your breeder was not "high volume" they are Amish. I see you mentioned that twice and seem to be inferring a negative stereotype. We do have Amish breeders who are wonderful people and do an amazing job with breeding pups like they do with most anything the Amish do. We thoroughly vet our breeders to ensure they operate with integrity and have all the required licensing from the USDA and their local authorities as well. But we would NEVER consider someone's religion when evaluating them for placement in our program. Not only would that be horribly bigoted, discriminatory, and ignorant, but also illegal.

All of our breeders meet very stringent requirements to participate in our program. None would ever be even remotely associated with a "puppy mill". It is well known in our industry how particular we are and that prevents any unethical breeders from rarely even applying with us. And certainly not approved.

Please check us out on Trustpilot the largest and most respected review site where we have an exceptional 4.7/5 rating and thousands of 5 star reviews.

I purchased a puppy through Pawrade. Don't be fooled by their website. I was and regret it. This puppy can't be trained! I don't want to leave her at a shelter for fear she'll be mistreated. Purchase a puppy dog that you can visit when born and pick out the one you want. Don't trust a breeder you will never meet! It's been heartbreaking for me.

I love my st. Bernard. So I have spent 15k in the last year to keep him. He needed eye surgery to correct his lower eyelids from turning in. He also has severe hip dysplasia with muscular atrophy and is about half the weight he should be at his age...The pawrade guarantee is essentially useless. READ IT. I didn't like how he arrived. It seemed he was stuck in his own waste for days. His white fur was stained...it eventually came out. I worry about the breeders. Will never buy a dog online again.

Please do not buy your dog from Pawrade. Dog seemed low energy and upon visit to vet for wellness check it was revealed that we were sold a sick pup. Vet diagnosed pneumonia, gastro infections, high white cell blood count and extreme dehydration. It has been an awful stressful experience dealing with these people. For me its just a fancy puppy mill. I should have known better. There are plenty of bad reviews of similar customer experiences. Don't let the Trustpilot positives fool you..

The customer's pup was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia. This is a very minor and common issue with pups. It is easily corrected during the spay or neuter process. It is not recommended to make the repair before, as this puts the pup through an unnecessary surgery and additional risk. We typically offer a standard reimbursement for the typical cost before delivery, or it can be submitted as a Health guarantee claim after the correction has been made. This issue is so common that it is specifically addressed in the customer's Reservation Agreement in a section initialed and acknowledged by the customer. It is important to note that all of our pups receive a head-to-toe exam by a USDA licensed Vet before going home. Any issue, no matter how small, is immediately addressed and disclosed to the customer. Any issues discovered that are not minor and common, that will affect the long term health of the pups will void the sale. We operate with integrity and transparency, and would never conceal any health issue as you may encounter with others.

Please do not buy your dog from this site. They will call you non stop once you show interest in a dog but when you already purchased the dog and you have a problem they will ignore you and will not answer calls or emails. We purchased a Toy poodle( with insurance offered by Pawrade) who we received on March 16. That same day after he was delivered we noticed that he was coughing and making sounds like he was choking we contacted Pawrade with no answer. We decided to make an appointment for the dog to get checked however there was no available appointments until Monday. On top of the insurance we purchased through Pawrade we decided to get our own insurance. We took him to the vet and he was Diagnosed with Pneumonia. Now, since the dog was sick from March 16 the insurance that we purchased is not covered and Pawrade insurance is not going to cover for the expenses either. The dog is still sick coughing and making choking sounds and till this day we are going back and forth with Pawrade… My puppy needs medical care but my both insurances will not cover any expenses. If you want to purchase a healthy Puppy please stay away from Pawrade!
Attached is a video of the condition my puppy was delivered to us!

I never received the information. I have called numerous times. I have e-mailed them. NO LUCK!

I was told one time when I called that they would email me the information but it never came.

I was interested in a puppy and inquired about it. I was told that the customer service rep would be in contact with me to set up a time to meet the puppy and breeder but the person never got back in touch. I then reached out to inquire about the puppy again, only to be told that the puppy was sold to someone else. Very poor customer service. I would recommend that if you are looking for a puppy to go somewhere else that has better customer service and responds quicker.

Puppy Mill

Absolute false advertising of puppies.
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING or put a reserve (full payment) in until you SEE all breeders pictures of puppy - on all sides of body and face AND sire and mother.
I first asked for pictures of the puppies mother and father. They said they would request them from Breeder … did not give them to me until AFTER I reserved the puppy for full price - THEN sent the father and mothers picture, of which, looked like crossbreed dogs of low quality.
The breeders (after payment) pictures of the puppy looked nothing like the adorable puppy in the Pawrade advertisement. VERY deceptive! I will enclose the breeders pictures of a $4,000 + all taxes, fees, travel, etc…. Pure bred, registered, King Charles Spaniel and her parents.

Jody is leaving out a lot of relevant facts. You can see the marketing pics of the pup as well as the updated pics the customer demanded immediately. I am sure everyone can understand there may be some difference between the professional photos and the pics the breeder scrambled to get with her cell phone. The breeder also hurriedly pulled the parents from the outside where they were romping with the pups to get pics for the customer. Naturally they look as you would expect a long haired breed to appear that only moments earlier was outside playing. It is also readily apparent that the parents are the correct breed as represented. How anyone would believe them to be "crossbreed" is not reasonable. The customer was refunded all of her money except the deposit that she was very well aware of as non refundable. The refund policy was presented to her and agreed to by her in writing before her purchase. The buyer has now followed through on her threat to "slam" us anywhere she can post her skewed version of events. Please check us out on Trustpilot where we have an exceptional 4.8/5 star rating and thousands of 5 star reviews.
