Terrible

I would never recommend purchasing a open sky credit card. The inquiry alone after being approved dropped my credit 103 points! Don't be foolish enough too get $#*!ed by this scam of a company that's piss poor with no actual customer service.

Don't get an Openskycredit card!

You find the card yourself and that's fine but what isn't fine is that when you make a payment it takes a week to affect your available credit. Was told by account rep that it was just the first payment and after that it would be within two days. Made second payment still didn't credit for four days so called and was told always would be 5 to 7 days. Completely BS when you pay fees and fund it yourself. Your money should be available as soon as it clears your bank. Stay away from this dishonest company.

I opened the account to rebuild my credit, but that backfired. Had a zero balance on the card when I moved to a new home and had my mail forwarded. I received my Opensky bill a month later and was charged an annual fee without notification via email or text. I paid it in full, although the payment was late. The next month the bill came showing I still owed the annual fee plus the late charge. I only paid the late charge thinking the annual fee hadn't posted when the bill went out. The following month the payment due was $146! I called customer service which was a 20 minute wait, and once I got to explain everything, she proceeded to argue with me for 25 minutes. I repeatedly asked her to explain the charges and she spoke in circles claiming these were late fees. I told her there's been a mistake, I've already paid the annual fee, asked to have the fees waived which she argued about, so I told her if she agrees to settle on half of the amount and bring my balance to zero, I will pay it over the phone right now. She agreed, took my payment info, then after my payment cleared she told me I still owed the balance of $73. I was livid! I had some choice words for her since she deceived me. I told her I wouldn't pay the rest and hung up. Since this is a prepaid card and late fees would continue to accrue, I decided to pay the full amount so that I wouldn't have to deal with this unethical company or their poor customer service again. Read the reviews. Don't make the same mistake I made. Do not do business with this company!

Here we go let me tell all the representatives I have spoke to sound jus like they woke the heak up out of bed. Here is the situation I had tried to order on finishline, online was charged several Hundred$$$$ never got a confirmation number in email or from finish... was charged HELLA DOLLARS ON MY SKY CARD NEVER RECEIVED THE CLOTHING I HAD ORDERED! WHO IS IN CHARGE I WAITED ON HOLD TODAY FROM 9A.M. TELL NOW 1:14P.M. CST. And got NOWHERE. AND THEM FINISH LINE N SKY WERE TALKING CALLED ON 3 WAY AS THE IGNORANT SKY REP. SAID SHE COULDNT HELP AFTER ALL THIS THE FINISH LINE LADY WAS JUST AS DUMB LITERALLY! I WILL BE REPORTING ALL THIS FAKE SERVICE TO THE B.B.B. AFTER IM DONE WAISTING MY TIME FOR THE POORLEY REPS. I BETTER HAVE THE $800-$900 BACK IN MY WIPED OUT CARD IN 4 DAYS LIKE SKY REP SAID. AND IF NOT I WILL CONTINUE TO REPORT THIS WACK A** CREDIT CARD NON HAVING REP THAT DONT KNOW HOW TO THEIR HIGH PAID JOB... WEAK COMPANY Y'ALL CAN SUCK D***!

I had a secured credit card with them. I closed the account and was told it would take 6 weeks to receive my deposit back. That is illegal in my state. Also when I made payments it would take almost 2 weeks to post after it was taken out of my bank account.

It's almost 2 years I have a I'm a card holder with the open sky. I gave them $2500. They give me $2500 credit line no after almost 2 years I see advertising for open the sky. They say refundable deposit after six months they check your credit and if you qualify they refunded but for me they tell me I have to close my account so that's a false advertising. Do not apply for open sky. There is other credit cards Way better way better capital one time other one's a lot better.

Where's my card?

Already got my 1st bill for the $35 annual fee, but still haven't received my card. Account was opened Dec 18 and today is Jan 31. They have $300 of my money I cannot access. Class action lawsuit needs to happen.

This company blocked my online access to my account BECAUSE I MADE A PAYMENT two months ago. Think about that. Blocked because I made a payment. Then the company allows only one method of reinstatement, which is to call and wait on hold for over 30 minutes. I have been trying to get through for weeks, to no avail. This company sucks out loud and everyone should be warned not to deal with them or sign up.

SCAM!

I have called several times due to my card never coming and they always say there is a problem with the production on cards or the vendor and can't produce one but not to worry I wouldn't be billed until they sent my card. Well I got a bill today and the bill shows up on my credit report. I told them about the bill and no card the lady lied and said no ma'am you don't owe any money until March. I told her lady I'm holding a bill in my hand and I'm not allowing you to destroy my credit I want my account closed. First she read me all these lists of how they would make a negative affect to my credit score then she tried to bribe me by paying off my first monthly bill. Also I paid 200 dollars for this card but was only given 175 in credit on the account. She first said it would take 8 weeks to get my payment and any outstanding bill would be taken out of the deposit. So to make sure I didn't owe anything that would affect my scores I asked again what do I owe? She said nothing but I still get my entire 200 back. How would I get 200 back if I owe. Got off the phone called back to see if they still recognize my number from an open account and it still did. I'm calling back in the morning to see if its closed for good. And I'm paying them their 25 dollars hopefully if they accept a money order. But if they don't I'm sure I'll never see the money order again bc they are a SCAM! DONT GO THROUGH THIS PLACE THEY ARE THEIVES!

Don't do it. Had to call customer service (which BTW there is NOT ANY 800 numbers on website only on credit card) to replace an expired card. OpenSky not open for business has delays producing cards. ALSO**** VERY IMPORTANT. AFTER you pay off the balance on your card it takes 6-8 weeks before they cut a check and send it to you. This is one of those credit rebuilder cards that you pay upfront BUT is limited and not very useful. Along with JUNK fees and in my example I have gone currently 3 months without using my card ONLY PAYING FEES AND BILLS >>> BECAUSE I don't have a replacement card after previous card expired. Customer support rep was BELOW average. Times are tough at OpenSky don't get caught in this trap like I did.

Cannot call through

They tell me to press 1 for my account and then say it's not valid. Then there is a hang up. I cannot get through to possibly the worst customer service unavailable. Will pay off this card in full next month and cancel it before the next yearly fee, which is a joke. There's no perks to this card at all!

A disgrace

Opened an account. Paid my deposit. Payment cleared my bank. Had an alert that my account with them was opened and it appeared on my credit report. Stated I owed $35. What!? I still had not received my card. Called to find out when my card shipped. It had not and they couldn't/wouldn't give me the account number. All I knew was the last 4 acct. Numbers that appeared on my credit report. She said she had no clue when it would be shipped (said it was due to a chip shortage) and it could be the end of Jan. Or later. WTH? Why if you are a decent company would you take any applications if you cannot send the cards out in a timely matter? You couldn't give me my account number? I couldn't register online without it. You had no problem billing me right away for a card/account I haven't received or have access to and you had no problem listing it already on my credit report. I told her I wasn't paying $35 for a card and account I couldn't even use. She said she'd credit my account. Not believing that for a moment. She closed my account and FINALLY agreed to send me an email right away that it's closed. If you can't wait months to possibly get your card, don't send in any money. What a disgusting way of doing business!

Scam

Put a deposit of $200 for the OpenSky secured cc. Waited for card and called 3x and the same person answers and gives different names. Tonya, Tara and Rhonda are the same person. She states that there is a plastics shortage and can't get a card in the mail yet and they don't know how long it's going to take. Asked to close acct and get my money back. She states that it will take 8 weeks at least to get the payment in the mail.

I took out a secured credit card of $3K to rebuild my credit. On most part I paid it in full 99% time.
They delay updating payment for 2 weeks or more resulting in you using g your bank card thinking your account is paid in full only for them to come back to you with nsf charges because of their delay in processing your payment. I finally decided they were not woth it. Maxed my card to get my money back & requested my account be closed. They claimed I still owed $27 which I paid on my Chase Debit card to ensure it was paid. I checked my chase at time of payment while agent still on phone, saw my charge & was satisfied & forgot about it as now should be paid in full. Done with. But oh no...they claimed my payment was returned not paid from my original account I used to pay from.my Capitol One account & denied I used my Chase account. So they switched my payment accounts. Now claiming I'm more than 60 days late & owe over $187. They are crooks & destroyed my credit not improved. First Progress was good.not open Sky.
I will write bad reviews & warning every where til they correct my account.
Do not use them.will only destroy your credit. They are not prompt in updating your account. Up to 2 weeks delay & delays in reporting it. Useless...run!

One star is generous

Forget trying to find a way to reach a person who can help. They try their best to make it a difficult game of hide and seek. I'm now waiting 4 weeks for them to return my security deposit by written check. Somebody either drag this place into present day convenience or recognize how they rip you off in other secretive ways.

Total SCAM!

I've never said this about a credit/debit card company before but this company is a real scam. I haven't used the card in over a year and decided to cancel it to save on their annual fee and get my deposit back.

When I logged into my account I saw over $400 in charges! All to the same place which was only called "WOODBURY NY" I've never been to Woodbury NY, don't know anybody there and have never bought anything from there. But primarily - even if I did buy something from there I didn't do it on this card! Because I haven't used the card other than twice when I first got it two years ago.

When I logged into the account I found 18 charges made over the last 12 months! One was for $127 and one was for $200. The others were like $17 and $20. I didn't make any of these charges. But I didn't notice them until it was too late because I never checked my account. I thought why should I check it if I'm not using it. And of course they never mailed or emailed a bill either.

Bottom line is - I've NEVER had a card get any fraudulent charges. But the Sky card - it almost feels like someone at OpenSky shared my card info with thieves and told them to enjoy their day! Maybe they get a kickback from doing that.

Can't even pay my bill

So for literally no reason, at all they disable my ability to use my bank account for payments. Tried a different bank account, this one was also disabled for no reason at all. Called them, and they couldn't make it make sense for me. I cannot pay my bill because of their system, worst credit card ever, period.

I opened a $200 secured credit card acct. In April, I spent $156 because of the $35 annual fee and a $9 fee for something I was never told. In May my husband was shot and killed leaving me in devastion. With bills, rent and all necessities weighing me down, I received a bill in June from them for $256 when I called it was difficult getting someone on the phone I called 3 times the first time the call was disconnected the second time I was put on hold for 36 min the 3rd time I spoke to a young man he explained to me that I was charged for the annual feel and interest I explained to him my situation and wanted to close the acct. He put me on hold then I got disconnected. I felt exhausted and just cried. In July I got my bill it was for $291 finally in August I received my bill it was for $356 I spent 2 hrs trying to get a hold of them to no avai. In September my bill was up to $391 I called them 4 times the same thing happens and I finally talked to a man that worked for a bill/ credit collector and I explained my situation he said sorry I am just here tho collect what you owe he said the $200 deposit was applied to the interest fees I still owe $156 that during the closing of my acct. That is what it came down to. Don't go with open sky they have a lot of fees that they won't explain charge you annual fee a lot no communication explanation or justification.

They get u on fees!

Haven't used it in 6 mos or so but been paying on it trying to pay down the rediculous late fees... just closed at 283 and my deposit was 200 so I still owe 83 and my so called late fees are 138. The math doesnt work.! I've had it for almost 2 yrs i should be getting my dep. Back minus late fees? Wouldn't recommend this card at all.
