I needed some black metal to use as trim pieces to flank a new control unit I was installing in my shower. The new unit would no cover over the holes left in the fiberglass wall left from the old fixture so my solution was to use the black metal as a decorative trim.
Looking at pictures online I went through ordering with an agent, asking all the question I thought pertinent to how I would need to finish the metal for installation without damaging the finish on the surface. I ordered what I thought was black stainless steel. What arrived was regular old silver stainless steel. I called in to try to get this corrected only to find out the apparently the agent who dealt with me the first time wasn't very experienced and should have directed me to anodized aluminum to get the color I wanted. The new agent helped me pick the right size and thinkness metal for the job and gave me a generous discount to help compensate for the misunderstand on the first order, which could not be returned or refunded.
The new aluminum pieces arrive and just last night I took just a few light swipes with some 1500 grit sandpaper and the edges were perfect and ready to mount - which I did right away! I'm just waiting for the glue to cure to get a look at the final outcome but basically I know that it turned out pretty perfectlt. Thanks so much!

I have been hotrodding cars for over 30 years, mostly pre-war street rods. My '37 and '38 Chevys required a lot of fabrication to install all the modern touches. Projects like these require materials not ordinarily available from the local hardware store. This is where OnlineMetals saves the day.

The items were cut to exact spec and arrived much faster than I expected. The savings over buying steel at the "Low" store and from a certain Depot is tremendous!

I needed more of this to complete my project. The order was delivered on schedule. The only comment I have is the $3.50 bar cost but it cost $17 to deliver.
