True-telecom called me and tried to convince me they were part of Open Reach. They appeared to have some of my details but not all, so I was not sure they were right. Things got unpleasant when they put pressure on me for my bank details, which I refused to give. The salesman tried really hard and I nearly fell for his argument. I said I would think about the offer and do my own research. They used bully tactics! I would not join them for such a terrible approach.
Do not sign up to this company, if you have then go through the Ombudsman Service to leave (nothing else works and we have been trying for about 5 months)- https://www.ombudsman-services.org/communications.html
I cannot believe that I did not look at the reviews for this company before I signed up with them. I had been with BT for 35 years. This sounded like a good deal we are retired and looking to save money wherever we can. It is a complete con. They don't tell you that mobile calls are not included in 'unlimited calls'. There are other charges for 'other calls' what are they? They even charge for sending my bill by E mail! I have never had anything on paper from this company. My communication with this company since I was cold called has been by E mail.
My bills are much more expensive than they were with BT. Has anyone been to trading standards about this company? I think that is going to be my next move. Thank goodness I did not turn my broadband over to them
It started in January with a cold call which resulted in this firm taking over our line despite not being given the go ahead. Numerous phone calls later TT admit they took the line in error. Now to get it back... 3 attempts by Bt to retake the line have been cancelled, TT explain to me that BT keep requesting the wrong thing! Now we have been cut off by TT but still can't get back with BT! TT tell me I owe them about £100 because we didn't take the line back... dear God I tried! I have offered to pay half just to get my phone line back- they have refused! I have spoken with Lucy- wow she's rude! I have spoken with Callum - for a manager he is not the best and as for their strap line (which I have heard a lot while on hold) "we focus on keeping our customers happy" well guess what... I am not a happy customer!
Shocking quality of service, customer service and have been lied to. Direct debit not cancelled, take us to court. If you are unlucky enough to swallow the lies about saving £10 a month over BT (every penny counts) and then it costing over £20 more, deal with them via email. We have found that even the nicest of customer service staff lie about what they have said. At least emails we have sent over and over again will stand up in court. How a business like this is still going after such a short time amazes me.
So glad I read the reviews. Cold call from true-telecom this morning. Sounded plausible until he started asking for my bank details. I put the phone down on him. This sort of cold call sales should be made illegal
Persuaded to switch frm BT. £49 per month with vat, I have never had a bill for that amount, it is always about £20 higher. Asked today 28. 07. 16 why my bill is always higher and i was told
There was no rate of £49, argued with them but they want proof, also they took money out of my account which was for some else's bill and wont pay me back, they say they will credit next months bill, I said I could not afford £62.20 to come out of my account and it was there fault, but their policy is they dont pay back money, although they can take it out quick enough. Also would not discuss my £49 a month while they were trying to find out why they took money out of my account to pay some one else's bill.
Do NOT touch these charlatans in any manner. They have spent all of their money on skilful manipulators / cold callers. Once you've signed up in turns out that, in fact, the offer is cheaper than your current provider, because it's a much lower service. And then look forward to agreeing a bill for £25, only to be charged £138 instead, every month. Oh, but there's no way to query it because the email bounces back, and they hardly ever answer the phone. And, when you agree something on the phone, this doesn't change when you see the next bill. Seriously, I think their business plan is to make everyone simple pay their 2 year contract up front to escape from their evil clutches. Please please avoid!
Just had cold call, good sales patter but when I told them I had just signed for 2 years to XLN (who I would very much recommend) they got shirty, avoided direct answers to my questions and they hung up on me! I'll bet they've managed to scam a hell of a lot of businesses and people. Customer service? What's that then?
The worst company I have every dealt with, cold call from them while very busy with children wouldn't stop talking in the end I switched off. The worst thing I could have as agree their line rental was cheaper than BT so signed up but bill is coming in at £40+ per month compared to £30 max with BT because they charge 11p per min to mobile which they say I agreed to but no way would I have if hadn't switched off. PLEASE PLEASE AVOID
I wished I had never gone near them thankfully I only have a 12 month contract and will be leaving them on 27 October and will be going back to BT. I have a fault on my line and because I don't pay extra each month for their care plan I have to wait 4 days for an engineer. BT could have an engineer with me tomorrow. They advertise and emergency number but this it just an answer phone on which you can leave a message.
Was persuaded to change by a sales guy, promised a package with broadband included. The inference was that they were somehow aligned with BT openreach. Paperwork came, no broadband. Told them we were not interested, they still switched us from BT without authorization. They are no trying to charge us for a contract we never accepted and never signed.
DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE, BEWARE.
Trying to run a business, had no phone for 7 days, was told by one person i could not re-direct my calls another wanted to charge this company is a joke
Signed up before reviewing reviews. When I cancelled my order I got told that BT reviews were worse and that I'd not read theirs correctly. He was very rude and ended up putting the phone down on me! I spoke to BT and they reduced my tariffs so suggest phoning the people you currently use and ask for a better deal to keep your business.
Just a shower of gangsterspromise one thing and you get something different and nobody will answer the phone. Errrrr
After several pressurised phone calls I agreed to switching my service I then had a letter from my what I thought was my old provider stating they were going to charge me just under £35 for my internet to continue. I rang T T. They said I was also having the internet with them at no time did they mention on the telephone that they were not giving me the complete change over I assumed they were, I was told several times that they were going to save me money( not happened.) Also I was not told anything about the term of the contract until a letter arrived, I have requested them to listen to my phone calls all I get is we are looking into it, My husband has Cancer I am very worried about this if it is not resolved soon I will cancel my D. Debit and lket them take me to court if this is the only way to let people know about them. If in the mead time they come up trumps I will post on this review site again.
After reconsidering changing my landline account to True I rang them and was presented with a number of options. One of these is cancel & they're waiting for you, I encountered the most aggressive man imaginable who told me to hold while he did other things. I told my wife what was happening suspecting he'd be gone a while but he was to my surprise still listening even though the line seemed dead.
He came back with all guns blazing challenging me and what I'd said. After a tedious and threatening conversation finally realising I wasn't going to be intimidated he took my number & said he'd cancel.
I'm really not sure that he will so I'm telling my bank about any direct debit they may present
After agreeing to look at the paperwork for a new contract they cancelled my BT account
I rang back to tell them I was not interested and the sales person was extremely
Aggressive and started swearing when I told them I would not be taking up their contract
After re- instating my BT account I subsequently found out they had created another phone line to set up the account on
They also claimed to be from Openreach when they first cold called me which is to hoodwink you into believing they are reputable
Avoid this company at all costs, they are prepared to cheat & lie to get your money
Aggressive scammers trying to manipulate an old lady in to changing her phone line. Luckily she asked me first and we saw these reviews. Don't change over to them!
My partner was convinced to change providers to this bunch of cowboys by a lying salesperson. She was assured that the contract could be terminated at any time with no charge. Upon trying to terminate, having received several months of inflated bills, she was referred to Terms and Conditions which gave a minimum contract period of 36 months (in miniscule type).
In order to end the service a fee of almost £1000 was demanded. Obviously this is totally unacceptable so the situation continues.
Please avoid this company for your own peace of mind (and bank balance), and if you have already made the same mistake report them to Ofcom. Maybe if enough complaints are received they will be able to take them to task.
Take the one star as being a minus number!
Answer: There is no mention of the 3 year contract when the salesman cold calls you.
Answer: Ignore them. You cancelled the contract because it was mis-sold. You have cancelled the DD, just make sure it is not re-instated by them. Given the reviews I have just read I doubt they will take it down the legal route. You can always try threatening to sue for harrassment but, personally, I would just ignore them. Don't delete emails though - they are evidence should you need it.
Answer: If you can't through on the phone send them an email - what they do with it is their problem but it will be proof you cancelled in time. And if later than the cooling off period, you were mis-sold anywayso have a right to cancel. Then cancel the DD and go back to your old supplier. Good luck
Answer: They are very carefull with the way they word things for instance "we will endevor to waiver your ETF" so what there saying is they will try, And this was done by there legal team (consists of 2 people with no legal experance calling BT and pretending to be the customer saying because BT have up there prices your legally allowed to leave the contract free of charge, with BT just saying the charge is valid, and now they dont have a legal team atm so there not to concerned about customer happyness its a fly by company
