OfferUp Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

BUMP
June 16, 2017

Don't pay for it. I paid to bump a product and cannot find it anywhere. Emailed customer service twice and no response after 5 days.

The worst company like this. Dont waste your time. Craigslist, Letgo, etc have been way better. About half of the offers can be legally classified as fraudulent.

The site does not seem to patrol itself or even care about what is going on. Lots of stuff posted by the same people over and over clogging up the site. I even found a car for sale from the same person in 10 different locations $10k under a normal price who would only accept email contacts. They need to step up the game like LetGo does you really don't see these problems there.

Done trying
April 21, 2017

From 4 17 17 OfferUp is mistaken for being like Ebay! And it is NOT anything like Ebay. You yourself are responsible for your own safety and buying. Its a buy sell and trade app.

I use it daily and sell things all the time!

Don't buy things that you don't look over. Don't be afraid to tell someone NO! Or ask for more pictures.

The app is more like craigslist. I think its great and I will continue to use it as it intended. You can't expect a company to back up "garage sale" stuff sold by users ALL OVER THE USA. If you go to a garage sale you look things over before you buy them. You can't be ripped off if you use your head!

Upadte 7 14 18 And just like craigslist the company itself doesn't give a crap about you. Or loss of time or money. Read the reviews! The only way you'll have a great experience here is if you live in a city or community with honest people that show and have the decency to respond. And now they added shipping to their platform before even making the ability to post on the website. They claim to have buyer protection but ONLY on shipping items and who knows when you'll see the money returned. I think their priorities are all out of whack. They still haven't gotten good enough software to stop scammers, fraud posts and posts that they don't even allow!

My final few experiences with "Offer Up Buyers:"
"Buyer" renigged after purchase agreement.
"Buyers" offered 25% of asking price.
It gets much worse...
"Buyers" (3) do not show up at agreed upon purchase locations.
"Buyers" are too often children sending sellers on wild goose changes or scam artists not showing up at agreed upon locations to eventually get your home address or suggesting meering at desolate locations.
Complaints to Offer Up produce boiler plate responses.
Avoid this site in the best interests of your security!

I've had people message me at 11 at night or 3 in the morning. Then get all mad that I didn't respond right away. They keep saying they'll take and never respond after I respond to them and its the same with the people who ask if it still available. I tell if it wasn't it would be marked as sold. I have everything set at a firm price and they keep trying to get me to lower it for less than half the asking price. I have up a graphing calculator that has a retail price of $140 and I have marked for $60 which is less than half the retail price and they only want to pay $20. So I tell them no and they get hostile and try saying its all they have. If its all you have why are you bothering. I'm about ready to ditch this app.

I'm browsing and see a lot of things i like but they have "sold" on them whey not take them off so legitimate items have a fair shot of being seen. It's like that with a few other sites as well. Why can't or won't an item be deleted when it's no longer available so people like me don't waste time emailing and browsing through items that are no longer available.
