The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

Use to be a fun site to either sell some items or find some local items for sale at fair and reasonable prices! Now, the site has been overrun by furniture store and adds from other websites selling items. I use to use it all the time... I am now trying to find a good replacement site that only lets LOCALS post... not the big furniture stores! If you feel like spending 85% of your time scrolling through said furniture store adds and online adds... by all means, this is your site! So sad. Use to be so much fun shopping around on Offer UP!
There is none. No telephone contact allowed. Options are "app" for phone. Offered option to use e-mail, that goes no where. I gave up after wasting 45 frustrating minutes. Doesn't get any worse than this doesn't scratch the surface. This sucks.
Must be run by a " bot" instead of a person. I closed account months ago, am getting responses still. Google needs to unhook OfferUp. If you agree, contact Google and complain about your problems, LOUDLY!
Full of $#*! application. Their email notification breaks every other day. You can only contact them through twitter. Done with this $#*!.
Out of about ten to fifteen potential buyers, I would say only one or two, if I'm lucky, actually consider buying a posted item. And if I'm very lucky, maybe one of those fifteen will actually buy. Lots of buyers promise to buy, and or show up at a certain time, then flake out, don't have the common courtesy to say they're no longer interested in buying the item, or they they insult you by offering way too low of a price, lowballing. Many don't seem to understand the meaning of "Price Is Firm", or "Firm Price", as they'll keep asking the same stupid question of "Is that your lowest price?", or something idiotic to that extent. This website is full of idiot buyers, and who knows, maybe idiot sellers also, as I have not bought anything but only sold a mere few items in almost a year. I had this one smart $#*! buyer who wanted to buy a $10 item from me, who lived over 120 miles away, one way, and who wanted me to deliver it to him, after I made it clear that I don't deliver, or ship. Anyway, the Offer Up website has become/is a bull$#*! website, and one which no longer works, as it's not possible to post items for sale, as it's always asking to edit the location, but will not accept the zip code or the GPS location. Also, don't expect customer service help, as there is no customer service. So I'll be going elsewhere for selling my items. I'm giving it zero stars, and if my review does not post, I'll give it the one lonely star just so that my review goes through. Just as I thought, will not let me post the review without at least one star. And one star it is! Stay away from this stinking website. There are many others to choose from.
I mostly sell on here, new things I try to flip so it's good quality stuff. Like other's on here mentioned, I price stuff very reasonably so I don't have to haggle. I put "firm price" in and I also include "PRICE IS FIRM" in the description. Yet, I still get people messaging me what is the lowest I'll take or just a ridiculous offer.
Also, buyers flake out way to much. They don't show or will commit to buy and you ask them when where they want to meet and you don't hear from them. They also ask you to deliver a lot, and this is after they committed to buy, so the deal always falls through. One buyer wanted me to deliver a video game I sold for $4 which would have been a 80 mile round trip.
There's just so much rudeness on this site, and it's carrying over to eBay unfortunately.
Offerup doesn't contact you back and they don't even have a number to be found.
I was scammed for $2,000 from Sandra Wilson on offer up
Feb 7,6:09 PM PST
There was a fraudulent event that occurred where a seller Sandra Wilson was offering a car for $1000 on offer up because she claimed her husband died and she had to leave the country with the military and couldn't ship the car. I gave them an email to reach me. I then received and email from the criminal that gave me information involving the car. It stated that the car would be shipped to me within 2 days of the verification of payment through money gram and that if I didnt like the car, I could have the car returned to the sender within 5 days because it was covered by ebay. I then received an email from a 3rd party fraudulent eBay invoice from *******@inc-customer-protection.com that detailed how to complete the transaction, a second email verifying the first payment and also asking for a second payment of another $1000 for insurance purposes, *******@inc-customer-protection.com and a third email verifying the second payment for insurance purposes that included multiple grammatical errors. The police report *******164 will not be processed for at least 2 days. The sad part is this ebay is a real ebay address that is why they got us. The ebay motor is real too. I lost $2000
They allow people to advertise Crap on this site but when someone tries to advertise property for sale or rent they block you
I tried to list a vape tank and it was immediately removed for collating TOS. That's ok. Their rules. But they have HUNDREDS of paid advertisements for vape equipment. You can even find CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PHARMACEUTICALS, over of which I've reported multiple times over the last couple months, and there it still stands. What a scam.
They keep up the old ads of items that have been sold. Also, my seller says hes local and turns out he was in another state and wanted me to send him mOney before he shipped.
Through Offerup I found this guy JUSTIN who was selling 27 Kennedy half dollars for $50.00. I asked if he would take $45.00 and he said yes. I got only 19 of the coins and when I notified Offerup all they said was go to the police and report a crime and only then will Offerup consider helping me out. Offerup is not on your side when you have a problem. I tell ya to STAY AWAY from this company for they are not on your side.
I'm Good! *******************************************************************************************
The company itself is messed up and unprofessional. I posted a Burberry bag I have had for 13 years. The company took the ad down because they thought it was fake. I challenged them and they apologised and put it back up. Which led to number 2 problem. People on offer up are so cheap. They want everything for free. They were offering me $100. So I decided to edit the price, hoping that if they put in an offer, it would be higher and closer to the price I wanted. As soon as I edited the price, offer up took my item down again. They probably didnt notice it was the same bag they had previously done that to. This time the company flat out lied and said we work with brands who have identified your item as not authentic. What a lie! If truly Burberry saw their bag, they would have known It is authentic. I showed pictures of the whole bag. The company OfferUp itself is a fraud, plus the members are mostly scammers/want your items the price of Salvation Army.
OfferUp apparently doesn't let you post ads from your computer, only your phone, yet you can browse ads from your laptop - WHY!? I'm not sure why any company would cut themselves off from a significant revenue stream like this but that's their problem. My problem is that I resent being forced to use my phone to execute things like this. I don't want this stuff on my phone.
Every time I list my item, they put a commerical ad beside it for less money and less quality. Not very nice of them!
Got scammed. Bought a computer, but they pretty much just sold the case without real parts inside. Agreeably, I am a fool who should have checked, but come on, it happens. What I am mostly dismayed with: OfferUp's reaction to the situation was just downright awful. Refuses to take the slightest responsibility or action to ban this user. Very, very disappointing. If you choose to use this app, use it with much precaution.
So I recently joined Offerup as a buyer. I started noticing the really cheap offers go really fast and then the more expensive ones are on there forever. I also noticed that I could not see what the products actually sold for. Then I applied for a *free* hutch, and the seller waited 2 days to contact me back to tell me they had already SOLD it. I think this site has slick sellers who underprice their items, wait for bids to come in and then sell it to the highest "bidder". False advertising. I can't stand bidding wars; I have better things to do with my time than haggle over used junk. There are regular people who post things at the price they really think they deserve, and those ads stay up for months, if not a year. That's how I started putting this thing together.
I live in Los Angeles and was trying to sell some phones I got from a dealer who needed to make room, I failed to sell for 5 weeks on letgo and CL but finally got a buyer who did low ball me to four fifths what I wanted but I sold them for a profit, I love this app!
I have been put on to this site several months ago and I've been selling well ever since. I believe I'm a very trusted user on this site because 1. I use my own profile pic 2. My first name. And because I sell my stuff at very reasonable prices and don't scam others. After all the bad reviews I've read about this site, people should honestly learn how to establish some kind of trust with the people they plan on buying from, it's common sense. You should be able to identify if the person is a legit seller, profile pic and name and all, and THOROUGHLY read the description of the thing they are selling. If they give little to no details about themselves or the items, why would you risk it? Even though the person is selling at a really cheap or low price? It is kind of a bust when some people waste my time where they spam my stuff with offers and then never reply back. But I have been successfully selling MANY of my items ANYWAYS. What I hate the most when I'm selling my stuff on here, is that people offer at such low, low unreasonable prices. Here's my philosophy: "I don't care how much you want it for, I care about how much I PAID for it."
My son was looking at a quad - found one for $500 when he asked why so cheap he was told the bike belonged to their son who was recently killed in a car accident and they couldnt bear to look at it. Then stole $500 from my son. Hes only 17 and was trusting - lesson learned the hard way for him that people just SUCK!
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
