The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

Did the sign up only to find it does not work on a PC! You must have a smartphone. WTF you can[t trust apps that steal your contacts pictures and other personal info. But then I tried to contact support and could not find any info like address phone numbers or email. If they think I am going to turn over my financial info without knowing how to contact them they are scamming. Never do business with someone who hides their identity,
I was scammed out of 3400 yes i said 3400 for a vehicle that was on offer up send the funds in ebay cards, thinking that they were truthful and it was a scam. I filed a police report my local department is still investigating this matter, this happen in February donot try and purchase a car on offer up, IT IS A SCAM I WANT EVERY ONE TO KNOW ABOUT OFFERUP CAR SCAM.
In my experience, I've messaged every seller of interest with the intent to buy their item but none of them have cared enough to get back to me. How hard is it to take your listed item down if it's been sold? It's frustrating to say the least. The offers on this site are great but it's been just a waste of time for me
I've never seen such a poor way the correspondence between the buyer and the seller is handled with OfferUp, all the calls went to junk mail, didn't notice until the next day, very annoying, missed the buyer completely, I wouldn't write this if I wasn't pissed off, because it happened a few times, it seems they don't care.
Half of the advertisers place a down payment on the ad 40% of the sellers place the full price and 10% of the advertisers are scams. OfferUp doesn't care about consistency and doesn't care about obvious scams. You can't buy anything off this site.
Who ever posted that 2012 Nissan murano for sale for $1200 should be sent to prison for taking my money it's a fake offer should be sued
I am a ITT specialist and will be filing a FTC complaint for the following deceptive practice of Offerup.com(05/11/20):
OfferUp.com deliberately executes the command gateway time-out error
Upon successful cancel of order. This executed protocol allows all function of OfferUp.com to be used except the view receipt/transaction ID.( Users are indeed able to view receipt before successful cancel)The intention to this protocol is to omit reciept/transaction page so buyer cannot receive funds by filing a true refund with customer service. This is a 2 part system in which time-out-error coincides with mandates of the required reciept/transaction Id to customer service in order to receive a true refund. Without the reciept/transaction ID field, customer service cannot be contacted via offerup.com. Status of order can state refunded but the implementation of the stated 2 part system designates a FTC deceptive claim. Protocol is based off of a local user id location for a convincing error.
Discovery of this was based on my recent purchase of a Ryzen 1400 series gpu.

They will steal from u and when i caught them they closed my account after 5 years 1,000 items & 5 stars. They were skimming from me. And they are doing it knowingly not by accident. File with ftc & bbb againest them
Horrible Customer service. They do not care. Do not try this App please trust me! I told them I was going to Give them 1 star because of how they Treated me today and that is what I'm doing.
So I sold an item to someone in another state. I shipped it out With a prepaid label and dropped it off at USPS. So the seller messages me that I somehow cancel the order, which was very incorrect. Apparently, the post office had and scanned my item in and manually entered it into the system. I guess offer up works on a scan system were if USPS scans the item then it tracks it on their end? Anyway, the buyer ends up sending me a message that they received the item about a week later. Offer up and refunded them their initial deposit and I get nothing. I sent offer up an email and all they said was that it was basically my fault because I waited until after the grace period to mail it out, which again was incorrect. I sent out the item within the given dates. The post office wasAt fault for not scanning the item in on time. Stay away from offer up. Now I'm out about $100 and offer up is not taking responsibility. Someone out there has my item and got it for free.
I've sold many things on Offerup with no issues, locally, I just did an out of town sale for the first time. Buyer paid within 30 seconds and I have to wait 12 days for my money to load on PayPal? I don't see how people steal money and not send the product. My product and money have been held hostage...
Both times the seller told me to send them money through cash app before they delivered it, and both times I did not receive the item. The sellers on this website are not trustworthy so I would highly recommend buying from eBay instead.
The TruYou option on OfferUp is a joke. I ordered a MacBook Pro at a fairly good price which I was already suspicious about to begin with, however, the user had 5 stars (80) and was a TruYou member. So I paid a majority of the sum through OfferUp and some through Cash App in order to show I was a serious buyer. Big mistake in the first place was to agree to that and not a mistake I'd normally make. A woman with the seller name, iShipONLY, and the Cash App ID Margarita Taylor ($margaritataylor62) told me to message her if I had questions. The following morning I woke up to ask her a question and her account was deactivated and is still deactivated with no way to contact person. I obviously got scammed. Buyers beware. Do not trust the TruYou reserved ranking of sellers on OfferUp. Below is proof in photos including the original image on her Cash App page.
The app does not synchronize with all my devices. This means I am obligated to use only my phone when placing ads or responding to emails. Cannot place ads, edit ads, access emails on-line on my computer, this makes my my account completely useless. I prefer to use my computer since the images are easier to see, edit, access, or edit them on Photoshop if need be. It is very hard to get assistance from anyone at their office. They don't take suggestions that could improve the functions of their app. It is very hard to delete previous ads and emails. It takes to long to figure out how to navigate through their app. What a headache!
I purchased a washing machine from a gentleman that stated the washing machine had no issues. I was not able to call him only message him because the washing was not working. I texted him my issues with the washing machine. I got it checked out the washing machine was already damaged and the seller knew it according to the service guy. I am out $250 for the washing machine and 118 for the service charge. Offer up was not helpful with me trying to contact someone regarding my complaint. I WILL NEVER USE OFFER UP AGAIN!
I went and set up a price on the product I was purchasing from someone a time of the delivery from this person we had a price a contract and everything going on in a deal and they sold it on me telling me they got what they were asking for it and now I am dealing with OfferUp and i can't get ahold of anyone to actually speak with so I am just assuming that OfferUp is just as much of a criminal and thieves as the people they allowed to sell their belongings on this site if I were you I would avoid this site as much as possible and try to sell your stuff in person because OfferUp will not help you in any way shape or form to get you your product or get you your stuff they are just as much as thieves as the people that are selling their stuff on this so with that being said please avoid OfferUp at as much as as you can so I will not be looking for anything any longer on this thieving site with thieving people selling their thieved items so good luck to whoever else will deal with these people and this lying thieving company run run run do not sell your stuff on this site because if you get taken by someone you will get taken by someone OfferUp does not help you they will not help you and they do not help you at all don't look for the help don't ask for the help you will not receive the help so when somebody doesn't follow through with a legal binding contract with you OfferUp does not and will not help you it's just someone that set up a site and they just sit back and watch I am not choosing to leave a star I have to if I had my way I would leave a negative 10
I have come into contact with several scammers while seeking to purchase a vehicle. I have reported each and every one. Somehow, they continue to post bogus vehicles for sale, while asking for money for vehicles up front. I wonder why OfferUp continues to allow these people to post with their personal email addresses, although they warn consumers to only deal with posters in the app. Why not flag all posters who try to use personal email? I have no confident in OfferUp. They allow the scams to continue.
I'd like to buy or ask the seller a question. But (almost) every time I try, the Offerup site won't let me send the message - I keep getting an error message telling me to refresh the page. Sellers must not be getting offers or receiving messages from potential buyers and that is a shame. On the odd occasion when I am able to complete/send a message, the seller never responds, so I don't know if they are even getting the communications. Don't waste your time with this site - Offerup sucks!
They have deactivated my account twice and turned it back on once the past 3 days. They are saying I have multiple accounts and that's the reason so far! I have no idea why the account was deactivated again today because tech support still hasn't gotten back to me although I have emailed them several times already! I have been a member for 4 years now and over hundreds of 5 star ratings! These people should NOT have this much power over people's accounts. This is nerve wrecking to have your account deactivated especially during these dire times. If there is a class action lawsuit I'd like to join seriously. Not only am I losing on sales but over hundreds of followers and they are wondering what is going on with my account as well.
This site is full of scammers, fake listings, and totally not worth your time. Call me to hear more 515 two09 one170
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
