The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I found a Krups BeerTender from a seller named Shelly C. In Utah. I purchased the BeerTender based on the "Reconditioned/Certified hook.
I get the unit a few days later and the tap handle was broken off and there was a brown mess in the bottom. When I plugged it in, it did not work.
I contacted Shelly and was IMMEDIATELY bombarded with hostile messages saying I was a thief and I would not get away with it!
I contacted OfferUp and asked for buyer protection and received it!
So where is my problem? OfferUp is protecting this spawn of Satan from my warning others about her deceitful behavior.
This witch accused me of being a thief and this is my way of getting at least a few ounces from my pound of flesh.
I have deactivated my account at OfferUp effective immediately.
I posted furniture on Offerup and received $13,400.89 in counterfeit checks. The checks looked very real and they used valid businesses with their routing number, account number, and valid signatures. I contacted the registered agents from the Secretary of State's website and both companies had identity theft. Have not been able to get in touch with anyone at Offerup.
How do us minority people let a company like offer up charge us to sell our own belongings like it's half theirs? This is how companies been robbing folks like us blind for years there has got to be a large action to stop offer up from doing this. I say we boycott this RACSICT site that steals money from MINORITY people
Totally disappointed the way OfferUp now is changing what it was at the beginning a really good neighbor to neighbor selling app. Ads and business post are out of control and the true is it lost the real essence of a neighborhood site. If my plan is to buy something new I will search other online sites instead of OfferUp that was meant to be for neighbors trying to sell goods they dont use anymore. Lately it becomes so annoying to search for something in OfferUp.
I get why people are upset - but it's not the app's fault... There are plenty of people out there that say they want something, and then just stop messaging...
If you expect that, then it doesn't matter when it happens. I don't go out of my way to sell something and make sure I have something set up before I go pick something up but all in all, it's great! I've sold a lot of items that I otherwise wouldn't have, have sent / shipped items, and just used common sense to protect myself...
The app is great!
Be aware no seller protection. I sent my package on time to my local usps but I didn't wait in line to get a receipt since the package already had the tracking number. So they put in a cart to get shipped. Will it never got scanned. Offerup cancelled my item in the meantime it was shipped all along. The item arrived to its destination and I emailed offerup several times about the situation and they said that I would have to work out a deal with the buyer outside of offerup. That is very wrong because I have proof that the buyer said I received the item and thanking me for it. I will not be using offer up again!
Buyer beware! Offer up is hosting car scams. My wife just got scammed and now I can't pay my rent. She baught a car for 2400. 00 and we are out! I am posting bad reviews on Facebook and all social media networks. And every thred I find. We need to do something about these bad scams and the places hosting them. Thanks allot offer up!
Tried to buy from a reputable seller. After purchasing, seller politely explained state of item didn't match description and suggested I cancel the purchase, apologizing.
Guidance on website on how to cancel the order as the buyer was incorrect and options presented did not match the guidance. Customer service is handled through Twitter posts and DMs. After asking to use my e-mail to finish the support request, customer service hasn't followed up about it.
Issue was resolved with the seller external of support.
Would not use website again knowing that site personnel intervention is non-existent in case of an issue. If you order, know how to dispute credit card charges in case there is an issue.
Will not be recommending or using offer up again. I sent a $15 item to the "buyer" after the item was bought with a tracking number outside the app. The buyer received the item per the tracking number and communication through the app, but since I didn't use the tracking number provided by offerup, the sale was cancelled. I tried to contact the seller asking if they could send me a Venmo for the item, she did not answer and therefore I lost out on $15 and the item I had for sale. The customer service could do nothing about it and I was SOL essentially. A lot of other competitors offer buyer protection which I will be suggesting to others and using going forward.
I can make and offer and have it accepted. I then get no response when I ask when and where to pick up the item. I need a commercial mower for my business and have had my time wasted by three different sellers in the last two weeks. I do not understand why you would go through the process of listing an item and negotiating a price only to flake on the the actual sale. Very Frustrating!
This is reply I received after contacting support, before purchasing an item I confirmed with the seller that they could ship the next day the seller said they could but then did not ship for several days, the person should've just said no. Anyway that was first and last purchase using offer up. I've had much better service with Mercari and Poshmark and have NEVER received such a rude email.
I have made over 10 purchases in the past 6 years and I love it. I do not interact with anyone that has less than 10 sales and I always meet at a place like Walgreens or a gas station. I always meet during the day. The items are really great and some people are really just trying to make a few dollars or get rid of something I may need. I furnished my retail space with things from Offer Up and always paid 80 to 90 percent less than retail.
Do not do bussiness with this company. If u have a problem theres no customer service... They will shut u down for no reason at all. They tie up your money and theres no way to reach them... Iv read many reviews and pretty much all of them shares my feeling..
I sold and carefully packaged a glass jar. Buyer said it arrived broken. OfferUp had the buyer send the box of broken glass back to me and refunded the buyer leaving me high and dry. They told me they don't buy shipping insurance and pretty much sucks to be me. Still charged me their service fee and wouldn't respond to my email when I wanted that refunded.
This morning I was scammed by offerup. Offerup sent me an invoice for a vehicle clamming the vehicle was insured and the shipping and delivery was free. Once I got the 3 eBay's cards. Offerup the emailed me and said I had to pay 400.00 more. I have tried reaching offerup for 9 hours and they will not reply. Total scam! Beware
Numerous times the seller has sold item to someone else. After I had already communicated the complete sale. Offered what they wanted. They provided me there cell number. Just waiting for address. They sold it to someone else. OfferUp does nothing or will not even contact you. BS
The majority of the sellers I sent messages to, did not respond. Hard site to spend money on, when the sellers won't respond. I probably will not use the site due to I do not appreicate being ignored and having the product I sent message after message about, sold to someone else. I felt very devalued as a customer. I guess you can run into jerks where ever you buy, but that one left me with a bad impression, along with the lack of communication and waiting for my offer to be accepted, when I have offered the exact amount the seller wanted. The seller let my offer expire 6 times. Then sold to someone else. I guess she picked and chose who she wanted to sell to. I am thinking at this point in time, the bad out weighs the good.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
