The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

Bought a 1893 cc morgan silver dollar coin for $698.62 and end up with a counterfeit one. OfferUp is no help at all. Don't use this site. No customer service either. Seller end up keeping my money.
I bought a phone on the site and paid for shipping on August 7th. It was stated as new and unlocked. I get the phone on the 13th. It was not new and I couldn't even activate on Sprint. I mailed it back to the seller. I complained to ou. It took militia attempts and they couldn't understand why I wouldn't send photos of the phone. I told them I mailed it back and provided the proof. I had to pay for shipping to me and to return it even though it was not my fault. The seller got the phone on August 17th. Ou finally got manager involved and I have written something like every day and sometimes two times per day since 14th or 15th asking for my money back. I do not have a new phone and they are still holding my money. The manager also needed proof phone got to the seller. I provided. He's saying the seller is saying they didn't get it. I found the seller on FB marketplace and asked what's going on. He says he got the phone back and he was locked out of ou. I provided the screen shots of the seller stating that. The manager hasn't helped. Why have customer service reps if they cannot help and why have managers if they can't help? I filed with bbb yesterday. Look on there and see how they have had hundreds of complaints in the last 12 months. If they had a phone number this could be resolved so quickly. Get a phone number offer up! And give me my money back. So almost 3 weeks since purchase and nothing yet.
I ordered a porcelain clock that arrived damaged and because I missed there deadline by 1 day as I was in the hospital and didn't see it, they refused a refund even though the seller was perfectly happy to give my money back. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I will never buy, sell or recommend there app again. Buyer guarantee my $#*!.
I've only been on offer up for 2 days and I'm telling everyone that I met do not trust offer up the the buyers will not come pick up their stuff anime string you along for 3 to 4 days try to pick it up it's not worth the hassle you'd be better off to put it in an auction and pay a commission.
Same as Letgo, I'm sure this site has some kind of software that makes it look like you've got tons of people looking at your ad. Then when you do get a hit, it's always "Do you have THIS" or "Is IT still available" these caned phrases generated by the people at Letgo and Offerup. Then you'll have scores of people that simply do not respond at all, It's incredible. They'll message you, then you respond immediately (5 seconds) then they (The buyer) will not respond. It's people like this that need to be removed. People that simply use the site to irritate others. When people play to many games wit me, I make it a point to lead them on a goose chase to teach them a lesson about wasting other peoples time. I hope others will do this too. When the "buyer" starts playing too many games or flakes out, give them a price they cannot refuse, then an address across town where you will not be. It's the only satisfaction you'll get on these douche-bags that waste your time.
I've reported on multiple occasions the criminals selling high profile current movies on USB sticks. I'm talking about dozens of ads doing this. Offerup's own policies are being violated and they are completely ignoring this and allowing it to continue. Any site that willingly allows criminal activity to continue isn't worth the time. I believe the site owners should be brought up on charges. I pay to rent movies from Apple and Amazon, and this site allows people to sell 50 at a time on USB for like 30 bucks a pop. If I was to try this the cops would come to my door and arrest me. How they allow it to go on without being busted is beyond me. The site should be shut down.
I placed an order to buy a Roku streaming stick on OfferUp. It turned out the seller Ly Thanh Nhan scammed people and do not ship the products. I opened a case with Paypal and hopefully get a refund. Offerup does not even have any support / help to buyers. Don't risk wasting time and money on such a garbage website.
I've asked about three items for sale on OfferUp. Two campers and one car. All three had their husbands recently passing away. All three were military doctors or a nurse. All three moved away and had to use eBay to deliver. None were in the same place nor had the same name. Coincidence? I tried to report but could find no contact information.
I just recently had an extremly frustrating interaction with a buyer, and also the support team. I was selling older pokemon cards that were worth a good but of money. The buyer had asked for me to ship the item so I did, and knowing how fragile pokemon cards are, I decided to put it in between 2 pieces of cardboard so that the cards wouldn't bend. Come to find out that he claims that I didn't even add any protection and that the cards are bent. I try to contact the support, and they end up refunding the buyer, so now I am out of really expensive cards, and the money that I would have received.
Offer Up is a PARODY! Literally they're overseas moderators flagged 1 in 3 posts! My second hand sunglasses were removed for being "medical devices". My Prada Store posters were removed for "being counterfeit", sets of items are removed (like you can only list items individually) mindless harassment.
The demographic shopping on the site in my experience were illiterate grifters asking for shipping when you post local only! People that want to barter to less than zero! Flakes abound on the site and legitimate posts are removed while $300 hand sanitizer (illegal) is everywhere!
Offer Up is a waste of time scam site trying to make money off of "free posts"! WORSE THAN WORTHLESS!
I've tried Offerup several times and I keep finding ads that are a year old or more. This makes trying to find something impossible. I know the seller is an A-hole for not removing the ad when their item sells but Offerup should have an automatic ad removal after 30 days. Also, sellers don't respond to questions. It's like the millennium ad site as these useless young weirdos are afraid to talk to strangers. LOL. What a crappy and useless business this is. I'll stick to Craigslist.
I don't know if people are unaware of how the review process works or if they're just too lazy to select the proper rating.
To fix this, the parameters should be pre-selected (On Time, Responsive, Trustworthy, Helpful etc.) & users should be forced to unselect the a specific line items 'if' Seller or Buyer didn't meet those expectations. -- Some people only select a star rating, nothing else, giving others the impression that you're not (or I'm not) a good Seller/Buyer to do business with!
* This process is not only a problem on OfferUp, but on Letgo as well!
** I am REALLY hopeful someone sees this & that the proper fixes are put in place to change their platform! **
-- Last issue: We go to meet someone for a pick up, at the agreed upon time, we send a message letting them know "We're here! :)" & no reply. We knock on the door, nobody answered. We ring the bell & again, no one answers the door. So, at this point I think we are being played because I can see a gentleman peeking from the upstairs window but no one ever came down so, we pull off. Later this lady Finally responds that they are there and have been waiting inside so we go back
Long story short, SHE leaves me a BAD Review!? [SERIOUSLY.?] Based solely on the fact that she assumed I was going to leave her one (because yes, she was in the wrong, but I STILL, foolishly gave her the benefit of the doubt! SO Unfair! Unacceptable!
OfferUp: PLEASE Make This right or else I will no longer be using your platform.
I have other gripes as well, but have spent enough time on this dreadful, frustrating experience with them! You get my point.
- Ok. I changed my mind: AND This is The WORST;
LOTS of people raise the prices, after the fact, once you drive ALL the way there, or items are in WAY worse condition than advertised & damages aren't shown in pictures, conveniently!
Some don't show up at all & others agree to sell to you, & even schedule a time for pickup, but sell said item out from under you to someone else, for more money! People are really Nasty, not all, just some, so sad & unfortunately UNBELIEVABLE!
This app will block you for not reason without even a notification, you will know you been block when no one answer your messages
I don't think I'll use OfferUp ever again. I sent a message to OfferUp about a seller who clearly scammed me and when I asked for a refund he kept putting it off. Most sellers on OfferUp are not honest, I'd rather buy something new for more than have to deal with people like this. It doesn't help when OfferUp has no way of helping when it is a local pickup and the person can just delete their account and everything is erased when they give you an item that isn't what it claims to be. I even gave OfferUp his address and still haven't heard anything back from them. I just wish there was a way OfferUp could Bill the person who had scammed you if you knew the address of the person especially if they are verified by payment and everything else. There needs to be a way to ship the item back to that address of the person if OfferUp charged their card or something. If this were ever possible I would continue using OfferUp only because I know I'd have actual confirmation if I was ever done wrong through the app and if I provided evidence.
I have a $19.99 charge on my debit card for ITunes. I never bought ITUNES. They charge this charge every month. I want it stopped. I can't contact OfferUp. I want whatever they have on me canceled. My name is Penny Fuller my number is *******136.
I made a sale shipped the item with the shipping label that offer up provided. It still shows on their app that it hasn't been shipped. But when you track tru usps it shows it's on transit, yet I keep on receiving message from offer up to ship the item or it will be cancel. I cant talk to anyone since there is n ok 1 800 number, nor live chat to get support. Frustrated!
I would like them to stop allowing cashapp or paypal seller's completely. And during the corona epidemic it be nice if mandatory mailing was a thing. Everyone wants a dam guest over.
I bought a ring for the first time online. A real looking ring when I got it, it was a plastic costume ring. I reported it in 1 day and sent pictures. They told me I took to long to send the information they are liars and they are cheats. There policy is a lie and they do not live up to it. I paid over 50 dollars for a plastic costume ring. They don't care. Other buyers were writing me saying no matter what I do I will not get my money back it seems to happen a lot I guess. Horrible place don't buy anything from this website. The ring on my finger is what I received. The other pictures is what she advertised and they did nothing. It's clear as day I was scammed. I would never sell or buy anything from this place again and I will tell all my friends the same.
Tons of scammers on this site. They advertise buyer and seller protection but it's all BS. They're not there to help when theres an issue.
They dont have a phone number. Getting help is impossible unless you tweet them on twitter. Theres no address. It's like a shell company running out of a garage.
Tons of scammers on there and I got scammed $50. Offerup just gave me run around over emails and took forever to respond, finally told me to call the cops for best help after lol. What a joke.
So many other better buy sell places like Ebay, poshmark etc. With REAL buyer and seller protection and actual phone number and email for you to talk to a real person.
Not worth the risk when theres so many other choices. Theres a reason for poor reviews of this company everywhere.
You've been warned! Why eat at a 1 star rated pizzeria when theres 4 and 5 star rated pizzerias on the same street? Unless you find it fun getting food poisoning lol
This is what you get on a FREE site. Glad I never paid them a dime!
I was a good new SELLER on offerup. Good positive reviews from the few items I sold. One of the items I sell are LICENSE PLATES. For a while things were OK, until I had my last post deleted by offerup saying it violated some of their policies. The next day, all my posts were deleted and I was unable to post any new ads, nor log back in saying some kind 'error'.
However I was able to search the site for LICENSE PLATES where I found many for sale. Try it yourself. You will see.
So one of the things that offends me is DISCRIMINATION. I cannot sell them but others can.
Perhaps it is just as well as I spent more time posting items trying to appeal to the few buyers than they were worth.
Should have thrown them in the trash and my life would have been easier, not having to deal with the ignorant responses that ask if you still have it, then never hear from again.
So offerup, you can keep your lame site. I don't need you so now I am going to have my fun since I am retired with lots of time on my hands, I can enjoy my newfound hobby- badmouthing offerup any chance I get on the internet. If I lose you just ONE customer, it will make my day.
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
